2010 Mom's Panel Results along with lists of Round 2 & 3 Participants

Glo, I'm very sorry but God has a plan for you.... Your actions are the most honorable I have heard about in a very long time. It's no wonder you made it this far. :worship:

I haven't seen any DIS dads listed anywhere? Any news? As I mentioned, I didn't receive any response. So, I wrote Tina late yesterday and didn't receive a response to that either (we exchanged many emails prior, as I had to email submit to R2, technical problem on their end) so I thought I'd get some sort of confirmation. Alas, nothing.

However, congrats to all those who did!

My littlest prince is ONE today! :cake: Posted some funny pics of him with frosting all over him on my blog if anyone wanted to see. :rotfl:

LOL! How wonderful! And what a cake!!!! Wow! And properly dressed for the occasion! I figured out long ago, babies figure anywhere near the face is fair game for eating! LOL!

:)

Sorry I've been AWOL today guys, trying to play catch-up from all the work I didn't do yesterday!!!!

GLO, I am SO very sorry to hear to have to bail out... like all us non Round 3ers I was really hoping to live through all of you, including YOU! But it is wonderful that you are doing so much to help your family in these hard times.

I've been thinking all day about that stupid recall email, and I've decided that they should send out an apology for the whole mess... a BLIND CC'd email apology for the whole mess... they should realize that we are crazy Disney folks who take this stuff very seriously!

But that's my 2 cents.

And I'm very truly thrilled that I have some "friends" moving on!! YAY!!

Sometimes things aren't meant to be :( ....and some are :)

Like many of you I applied to the Disney MOM's Panel hoping against all hope to make it to the next round. I had also applied at a nearby Disney Store for a seasonal position. I have 3 daughters, one is in college, the other two will be in high school next year. My husband took a pay cut to keep his job this year. I teach, and money is tight. I applied to a few stores not just Disney for seasonal work (all that is out there right now). Then I get picked for the next two rounds of the Disney Mom's panel. I am so honored to have gotten that far and with such wonderful people. Never did I expect to have gotten this far. I heard a few days ago that I had been hired seasonally at the Disney Store. I wrote a letter to Tina explaining that I had been hired to work through end of January and that I wanted them to know, so they could let me know what to do. I was hoping they said since it was seasonal it would be ok, but I knew it wouldn't be. I just wanted to be honest. Well, I got no response. Today I got the email to sched. my phone interview I again reminded Tina of my email. I got a wonderful letter telling me that I could not continue and I completely understand. I was sure that was going to happen. I have to do what is right for my family, and right now it is working. My heart is sad, that I can not continue, but it is the right thing to do, and I am thrilled that you all are continuing. I will live vicariously through you guys! Thank you to Tina, who was so gracious and kind in her letter from the MOM's Panel! Maybe next year I will try again if I do not need to work. You guys rock, Good Luck and Lots of Pixie Dust!!!!

Oh Glo! Wow. I know that was tough, especially having made it so far. Sometimes real life comes before our Disney fantasy life. I wish your family the best and hope things turn around real soon for you.

So, did I win the "guess the announcement time" contest. :goodvibes I picked 5:00 ET (I think ). If not moi, who nailed it? popcorn::

- Bret

p.s. Congrats to all the DIS 3rd rounders. Like the 2nd rounders, I know that you're all very well qualified!

Come on Brett!

You know the rules! "...without going over!"

Whoever had the closest time BEFORE 4:26 (I think?) is the winner!

And of course, everyone who got a yes!

You are an example of what it truly means to be Disney Mom! You are putting family first and I am in awe of your strength and honor.

:rotfl::lmao:Well if we follow Jud rules then I think I win with a guess that was 41 minutes off. I guessed 3:45 CCT (Cinderella Castle Time).

But .......... if you go with the closest but over time, you win with a guess of 5:00 CCT, which made your guess at 34 minutes after the first Yes'es came at 4:26 CCT.

Wanna change the rules and share the honor?:woohoo:

Now if you want to count when the first batch of No's came or the second or the third and then the recalls........well I am lost! :lmao:

Just getting home and catching up with all that has happened today.

Glo- So sorry to hear about the Moms Panel but happy for you that you were able to find something to help your family. I hope your children know what a very special Mom they have. :grouphug:

I love the idea of a 2011 waiting room. It was funny I was really not as upset when I did not make it to the 3rd round as I thought I would be. I realize this was just not my year. I think I am going to take this next year and hone some things that I think would make me a better candidate for the Moms Panel. Maybe we could all encourage each other in the things we want to work on.:)

Lastly the IASWAA ride. This was not my first ride but going with my DD who was 2 1/2 at the time on IASWAA 6 times in a row is definitely a memory I will have forever. We would get to the end of the ride and she would say, "Again Mommy. Again." There was no one in line so we would go again. We once had a couple people join our boat and when their DD heard my DD say we had been four times she wanted to stay on too. Her mom just glared at us and said, "If you want to join their family you can go again. We are getting off." I have to admit even after 6 rides I was done with it. :rotfl:

Lastly the IASWAA ride. This was not my first ride but going with my DD who was 2 1/2 at the time...

A long time ago, Bob Newhart tried a third sitcom that was very short lived and rightly so, but there was one great line from that that I am constantly reminded of when all the Rents answer Disney questions like this- for as likely as not, they will answer for their own child.

The show had three generations, Grandfather Bob, his off-spring and mate, and their new baby. At one point, new dad wants to go play with his buddies- and wife says, "You have a baby now- everyone moves up one step!"

Yeah, I wanted it very badly! For many different reason, but if I didn't get another job then I would have been lying. I did not want to do this dishonestly.

So you already accepted the Disney job? Thought you just got an offer and could wait a few days before accepting?

I agree, if you already accepted you can't say you didn't.

I clearly was NOT advocating lying!!

Oh, I knew you weren't. I accepted right away. I knew I had to. This panel experience was awesome. I hope things get better and I can apply in the future and am considered. I had a blast along the way. I can tell you all right now I had a real good cry over this, and maybe a little "It's not fair tantrum" all by myself in my car. I would be lying if I said I hadn't dreamed about it. Maybe another time....thank you all for the kind words. You are all awesome!!! I will be right here rooting you on!

IASW is one of my favorites. My fondest memory is that of riding IASW with my husband on his first trip to the World. Very romantical! :lovestruc

Oh GLO!!!! I am so sorry you had to make that decision, but like others have said, you are doing what is right for your family. Can you tell us (or PM me if it's private) what Disney Store you will be at so I can come visit you? LOL I'd love to meet up in person!

I totally love the idea of a waiting room that continues on...I've become fond of many of you, Mom's panel or not, and look forward to learning more about each of you. :grouphug:

IASW: I cannot remember my first visit to it, sad to say, but of course we ride it numerous times throughout our visit. Two of my daughters are from China so we enjoy finding the little dollies all throughout IASW that are also from China. It's neat to see my DD's expressions when they find them!

I had a real good cry over this, and maybe a little "It's not fair tantrum"

You know, sometimes we need one of these ... to get on with our lives...:thumbsup2

So are there any benefits to being a seasonal Disney employee? Do you get merchandise or tickets/room discounts? Once you know, can you let us know? (or anyone else)

It's definitely in the back of my mind to work there once my little ones get older. I can't ever see me going back to a desk job. I think it would be the closest I'd get to working for the magic!

Seasonal really gets nothing but 20% off anything in the store even sale items and if hired by a certain date (which I was) 2 one day hoppers. If they keep me on and now I am really hoping they do, then I get 5 one day hoppers 2 times a year. Cast member rates in WDW, DLand DCL ect..., discount in store and parks. I think.....
