Yet another Rochesterian here. We booked our flight on Airtran back on March 9th, and got 3 tickets for roundtrip ROC to MCO for $594.30. We are going August 13th thru August 28th, and we picked our seats already. I know that is a good price , but if I see it drop any lower I will still call for a credit. I have heard that you can use the credit for baggage fees . Have either of you ever done this at the Rochester airport before?

No, and honestly, I didn't even know you could call and get any sort of credit if the price of your flights dropped!! Thanks for the tip!!

I've already told DW and the kids that they'd better plan on packing LIGHT! One decent size carry-on and a backpack each. If I absolutely have to, I'll do a single checked bag for the excess. Plus, if we do end up with a checked bag, we'll bring the twin size aerobed so the girls don't have to sleep in the same bed. It's funny, though. I never complain about the small beds at Disney, but DW does....am I missing something:littleangel:?????

We're from Rochester too!!! (Hilton to be exact!) We're headed down from Aug 20 - 29th. We are also booked on Airtran - I booked us at $89 a way (direct flights - necessary with a 7 and 2 year old!) Last time I looked they had flights on those date for $76 for certain flights. Good luck!
Yay for Rochester!!

I was just at the airport today - took the kids to watch the planes take off and land in the observatory. It made me want to fly away on vacation NOW. It seems like all of you are going in August...I'm looking at end of September into October probably.

For whatever reason, the last time we flew down, in January 09, we flew on Continental and were never charged for our bags. We were told they'd charge us when we arrived, but never did. Granted it was because we had to check them at the gate because we arrived at the airport so late they couldn't take them at the counter.

Hey Canadian Guy,
I am a Aussie looking for accomodation from the 21st sept./3rd oct. this year. Just wandering what specials it is that you have heard about, sorry I don't understand all the abreviations. We would love to stay on site in a two bed villa but I am hesitant to book as I feel it in bones that disney may offer accomodation specials during this period as it is meant to be a quiter time of the year for you guys. I would greatly appreciate any advice:goodvibes:goodvibes. We love your beautiful country after visting last year and experiencing disneyland, we are looking forward this year to the experience that disney world will offer.:cutie:

It's 6:05 am EST here in Ontario, Canada. I went to WDW's site to see about reservations for Ohana (been checking several times daily), and I noticed that...

The discount offers are missing from their website! Wonder if it is being updated with something new?

EDITED: No, guess I'm wrong. The "fold-down page" that normally appears isn't, but the summer 30% off is still there when I scroll down and click on special offers. Ah well.

kyl, The deal is free dining, and from what I understand the deals are not always good for the villas. but then again there is no guarantee of any specific room type or resort being offered, so you have as good a chance as the rest of us. ;)

Welcome to our friends from Down Under.. (tm)

:)

Well.. there is probably a couple of promos coming for your dates .. the first of which will probably be announced on May 3rd. Of course NONE of us (including me) knows for certain what that will be .. but of course many here hope that is free dining at no extra charge during your stay.

There may be other promos released later on that cover those same dates but nothing is for certain.

And as noted, the villas are sometimes excluded from the 'offers'. How many of you are travelling and how long will be you at Disney?

I'm being told that F/D WILL be offered.

I thought the original post on this thread said that you were told free dining. I do know it is not for certain, but is there a reason you are sounding less confident that that will be what it is? Have you heard rumors to the contrary? Just curious, or is it just that nothing is definite until it is in writing?
