Ask over in the Dining & Restaurants Board for healthy Q/S choices.

Personally.. I love some of the choices in the "The Land" building at Epcot.. VERY delish.

LOVE:love: The Land...great healthy selections and some of the food comes from The Land attraction. YUMMY!!!
There are a lot of great helthy food options!

Been surfing the board for a few months now - First post :)

Currently booked at a mod if the do offer the free dining what would the cost be to upgrade to DXDDP?
:welcome:
For reg season(nonpeak) to upgrade to DxDDP(from RegDP)
$30/Adult
$9/Kids3-9

Ok, I have a question, instead of just lurking and commenting........

If I booked through a TA and paid my $200 deposit to the TA, can I call Disney myself and have my ressie switched? For example, I currently have ressies as ASMu, but if FD comes out, my budget can swing going to a mod. Do I have to do this through the TA or since I have my ressie number, Disney themselves can do it for me. I'm just concerned that I won't be able to reach my TA in time and that I'll miss out on getting FD with POR!!!! Anyone??? :confused3

TA needs to change it...which is why I didn't like booking thru one(stresses me out since I am a uberplanner):rotfl:

Funny about Fantasmic... we were there Sept. 1, 2008. It was the largest crowd we saw our entire trip. Took us more than half an hour to get to the theater, due to slow moving crowds.... wall to wall people... could have been a major problem if there was a fire or other activity that cause people to lose their senses and just flee. 2 in our party were on ECVs so we were seated in the back.. the place was packed. We are going to HS the same time this year (labor day), however no fantasmic that day!!!!

Yes.. but with any special offer (Free Dining, PIN offer etc) ... if that offer isn't available for your new dates.. you may have to pay more than you expected.
I'm expecting to pay the full amount that we have booked now, with no promos attached (although would be thrilled if FD came out, obviously, since I've been reading these threads religiously for 3 weeks now!!!! :)). So, if our new dates don't have a promo attached, I'm o.k. with that. We'd just be going back to our original full amount. It's all a gamble in the timing of life when you're in the adoption process. And, I'd just be happy to be going to Disney again! :) But, I was pleasantly surprised when the CM said that we could change up until the day before with little to no change fee (and which is why I wanted to double check with all of you experts). Our Disney trip is my only worry as far as the timing of our adoption (Will we be traveling with a newborn? Will we have to change our dates?). I have many friends who think worrying about a Disney trip is the dumbest thing in the world! :) I have a feeling most of you on these boards would be worried about the same things though! :)

1. May as well wait for the offer before switching.

2. POFQ will cost more.. but by the time you add the upgrade of QD to DDP... then.. it's probably kind of a wash. So where do you want to stay?
As long as we can all go, It doesn't matter. If I down grade, we will get 2 rooms instead of a suite (I think)....POP. I have never stayed there and the kids wouldn't mind staying there or the ALL STARS. Any opinion?

Ok - I heard this from several different and unconnected sources yesterday all somewhere after 4pm..

I STRESS - THIS IS STILL A RUMOR - DO NOT BANK ON THIS OR CHANGE PLANS TO ACCOMMODATE THIS RUMOR. DO NOT PLACE ANY SPECIAL STOCK IN THIS RUMOR BECAUSE OF ANY REASON.

IT IS WHAT IT IS - JUST A RUMOR AT THIS POINT.

Ok, with the legalese out of the way.. here's what I got.

I'm being told that F/D WILL be offered.

Specifically, it will be available for public booking on Monday, May 3 for dates from August 15th to very early October. The end dates I've seen didn't agree. Most common end date was 10/2.

All sources agree, there will be less inventory than we're probably used to so more likelihood of folks having to change resorts and/or possibly dates to get it. Just as suspected QSDP for the values, Reg DP for the mod and deluxe resorts.

And finally.. the 'booking window' (or the spread between May 3 and the book-by date will be larger than we've seen before.

I didn't see any information on when this would be available to Disney Visa holders.. so I can't answer that one.

As with ALL things in life...

This is subject to possible change.

I guess we'll know in couple of weeks if this turns out to right or not. But that's the first multiple confirmations of similar information that I've seen.

Let the jubilee and excitement begin.. (on Monday May 3) .. :)

I am going to add that typically as a moderator I am loathe to post rumors and such anywhere else than one of my favorite spots on the DIS - the Rumors Board.

That said, I feel there's probably some pretty close to the 'final accurate information' here. These are kinda extraordinary times, I know a LOT of people are waiting to find out and I again repeat - this is JUST a rumor at this point and it IS subject to change.

HOLY SMOKES PEOPLE!! i dare to go to work for ONE STINKIN' DAY and not only do we get a new rumor/spec thread, we get a FOURTEEN PAGE rumor/spec thread! it's going to take me 'til bedtime to catch up! LOL! :rotfl:

Is it ALL Disney Resorts, like the Hilton Disney? Thanks.

The Hilton Disney is not a Disney Resort...

Also, note that while on property, the Swan and Dolphin are not Disney operated and do not qualify for the free dining.

IE, only those listed in the disneyworld.com site.

Thanks for the update, and encouraging news!!!:thumbsup2 I have always thought that FD would be offered-as I said before,Disney would rather have full stomachs than empty rooms!!!;) Also,I still think it will be regular Dining Plan for all-those who stay mod/deluxe tend to do so anyway, and would not be "caught dead" in a value resort:scared1::rolleyes1 Thanks again!!!!:goodvibes

Also, we were committed to those dates because of that particular job, we are more flexible. I have a Free QSDP pin that would need to be used by the 14th of August. I know how hot it still is in Florida in August (I went to college down there). Are they rates cheaper than September or is it worth switching dates just in case FD doesn't pan out. I really DON'T want to go in AUgust.

Try this... I work 3rd shift... and ALWAYS Sunday nights...11pm-7am!!!!
When I get home from work... half the people that have posted on will have already gotten thru to Disney and have everything set... while the rest will still be waiting on the phone....lol

Glad I have a TA to take care of this... its just the waiting that kills!

BTW.. I live only a mile from work... I will be home at least by 7:10am

This was very good news to read this morning. Our friends will be joining us! Woot!

Thank you very much, Knox, for sharing your info. I've watched the Free Dining threads for three years now, and I have a lot of confidence in you and the accuracy of your information.

People, I can't emphasize this enough--BOUNCEBACK! If you take advantage of this offer and there's an offer flyer to do it again next year, jump on it! If you don't find a flyer in your room, go to concierge and ask for it, or call the WDTC on your resort room phone.

It'll save you from the same stress next year. (Unless, like me, your friends decide they want to come months after you booked your BB.)

Just a questions about the BB. We are staying at a value resort this summer. If a BB is offered can we book next year's trip at a moderate resort on the BB?

I prefer Pop .. but not for any other reason than the themeing appeals to me. I stayed at All Star Sports the last couple of times and enjoyed that also.

Yes.

I'm not sure if Swan and Dolphin are included with FD or not since you're right, it's not actually a Disney owned property. But they are listed on disneyworld.com and you can book reservations through Disney directly.

I too am a DVisa card holder. I have my trip booked at Pop with QSDP. It is not paid for in full yet. If for some magical reason, Disney announces FD for DVisa holders and it applies to my travel dates 10/7 thru 10/12....can I make a payment on the DVisa to qualify for the promo? I thought that these DVisa promos applied if you put the entire package on your card.

I'm really not sure how it works in a case where it wasn't actually booked with a Disney Visa. It's possible they may need to cancel the one booking and do another...it depends on how their systems allows for it to happen. Don't hold me to this, I really don't know. However, I do know that you do not need to pay for the entire package on your Disney Visa to qualify. For those who were booking a new package, all they have ever required was the deposit on the card...the rest can be paid with other methods.

They are not part of these promos.

They are available on the Disney site for packages only. Not for room only. It's a weird configuration there for sure.

I've never stayed at either one (nor have much of a desire to), so I wasn't completely sure. Thanks for the clarification! :thumbsup2

Absolutely not.

The people that deserve thanks in this ... can't be mentioned. :rolleyes1

At all.

Really.. shh.

Some folks went out on a limb to provide me with information that I could share 'freely' without names attached. THOSE are the folks that deserve thanking.

Seriously - big shout out to them and a thanks -- they know who they are.

Not me.

you would make a great journalist, not giving up your sources... :thumbsup2

I know what I'll be doing May 3rd!! What time does Disney Reservations open again?!?!?!:rotfl2:

Thanks CanadianGuy for keeping us so well informed you are a peach!
