**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

Where can you purchase the cards? I'll be entering from BWV through the International Gateway.

We get our Gift Card at the International Gateway Shop to your left as you walk in! They are at a bunch of places through Epcot - including the Festival Gift Shop also!

Debating on whether to take one of the extra passports ya'll leaving on the table :goodvibes or to go ahead and print my rating cards :confused3

We have used the rating cards for many a year since first meeting up with Michelle :wave2:

And, I am thinking that we may well use them. Heck, if we want them stamped, I bet that could be arranged......Just so we can hold up the line longer :scared1:

Of course, this means I have to finish the rating cards. :rotfl: And print them....and bind them....:thumbsup2

It's amazing what can be learned if one takes the time to read the Festival Guide! Duh! I've just started looking through it and on page 20 there is a picture of the festival gift card and a list of locations where to 'purchase' them.

Epcot Main Entrance ticket booths and guest relations, plus locations in the Festival Center; Festival Gift Shop by Canada Boat Dock; World Showcase Merchandise Shop; Port Of Entry; Disney Traders; World Traveler at International Gateway; and Bridge Kiosks. and the map has the locations marked.

I was trying to find out if the guide says anything about Snack Credits but unfortunately it doesn't.

In the past, the snack credits were posted on the signs for each booth. I'm sure if you look at some of the photos from past events, you can see them. I'd post my pictures, but wait, that was when the computer crashed and I lost all of the menus and food booths from last year. What I recall is most of the food was one snack credit.

here are some pictures from last year....

Praline Bread Pudding with Burbon Caramel Sauce (New Orleans) I can gain 10 pounds just looking at it!!

I'm sorry if this has been asked previously, but glancing though the thread I have not seen an answer, does anyone know if the Sam Addams brewery will be back doing their tastings? DH always enjoyed it, and we have many a keychain to prove it ;)

Sam Adams will be at the festival but only as presenters at paid beverage seminars this year. They will not have the free tastings at the American pavilion as in years past.

Thanks for the repy! Bummer no Sam tastings. I guess they have completely moved away from free alcohol.

I also haven't seen anything about the wine walkabouts they have had in years past. I'm assuming they are not returning as well...?

Last year we were chatting with a WDW public relations guy that was coordinating things with Sam Adams. He told us that he expected that they would not be able to have FREE alcohol any longer. He said new FL alcohol laws were causing them big headaches. :confused3

Hello, everyone! I've been happily lurking away without anything much to add to the conversation until today. I saw one neat thing when logging in today.... Future World is going to stay open until 9 PM starting October 3rd! That is kind of cool... so yay for TEST TRACK, MISSION SPACE, SOARIN, and SPACESHIP EARTH being open for us Foodie Winos!:dance3:

Oh, yeah! I also had a question! I see this year they are advertising that they will have a Food & Wine tote for purchase. Saw the design and wasn't overthrilled..... do you think they are going to make those cool messenger bags again this year from last year's banners? I believe TDC Nala got the "Baloney" bag last year...? That was pretty awesome, BTW!:thumbsup2

I've never been to F&W; we leave one week from tomorrow! One of my friends goes to F&W every year, but can't this year because of a professional internship.

My question is: Can I order a bottle of wine for my friend and have it shipped to her in NH??? How does this work? Or do the sponsors just refer you to their website?

Thanks, Foodies!
Gayle

I dont believe they allow Wine to be shipped as many states have laws against shipping in wine (at least one of the states I lived in did)

You can always buy it for her and bring it home in your luggage & ship it from there.

Has anyone tried *ALL* booth food samples in prior F&W?

Has anyone tried *ALL* booth booze samples in prior F&W?

I will be traveling down on October 6th-12th. My husband and I are planning on trying ever item (sharing of course) in those 6 days and I want to know if it is realistic. I am currently creating my own little "Passport" to get stamped at each booth so I can mount them in the scrapbook. There will be a food passport and a booze passport.

Since we are going to be spending the majority of our time at Epcot, I figure a majority of our meals will be spend roaming around Epcot and going on all the "adult" rides that we normally do not get to do when we have our 3-year old. We are staying at the Dolphin so Epcot will be a hop-skip-jump away from us.

A little background about us so people will not think we are crazy to spend the entire trip relaxing, eating, and boozing at Epcot...

My husband is currently contracted through Disney and travels there every week from our home in NC. This past week he had client dinners at Citricos, BlueZoo, and Artist Point. Must be nice while I am at home thinking of creative and fun meals for me and the toddler! :)

This will be my 4th trip since May. Actually, we just got back from an 8-day trip last Wednesday. Whenever I have 5+ days off from work, my daughter and I fly down to Florida. He has eaten at 80% of the sit-down restaurants and is TS overwhelmed! I am ready for some dining on the fly. Plus, my husband will be working during the weekdays so I figure I can relax and take my time exploring Epcot and the many countries while sampling.

So, anyone making their own passports or have you been able to "conquer" all of the samples... also, I figure that if I try a bite and do not like it, trash cans are not too far away.

Thank you for your input and help! This is our first F&W, but I doubt it will be our last... especially considering we are meeting with our realtor to house hunt on this trip!

Wow, that's cool! We arrive October 2, so I wish that's when it started. But all those rides you mentioned are open til 9:00 anyhow. I'll look forward to adding Living With the Land to my Soarin trip.

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Merchandise Operations will not ship alcoholic beverages through the Home Delivery or Resort Delivery programmes (which includes all wine bottles sold at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival).

For this year's Festival, you will only be able to carry the wine bottles with you, or have them sent to a Package Pickup station located in the Gift Shop at the Future World entrance to Epcot, or the World Traveller Gift Shop located at the International Gateway entrance in World Showcase.

You are more than welcome to arrange shipping on your own outside of the Disney-provided services. However, please note that it is a violation of Federal Law to ship alcoholic beverages via the U.S. Postal Service. Most private couriers do also have restrictions on shipping alcohol as well. Finally, it should be noted that the State of New Hampshire requires that persons shipping alcoholic beverages to that State possess a valid permit issued by the New Hampshire Liquor Commission.

That's really helpful information - thanks for sharing it. I know the first time we attended F&W we were stunned that we couldn't ship home and just didn't buy anything. We also figured out in most cases that we could get what we wanted far more affordably at home.

As to the shipping rule ... Uncle Sam just can't stand not getting his extra penny on our booze, can he? I still ship stuff via UPS .... ;) ... and I know people who use the USPS as well. ;) It's like that bottle of Absinthe my hubby and I ordered from Spain before it was legal in the US ... I thought for sure Customs would confiscate it but it shipped over and landed on our doorstep two weeks from purchase ..... I don't think anyone is paying attention the way the want us to think they are.

Also, that reminds me of something else I learned. You're not allowed to exit the park (at least thru the International Gateway) with a cup of wine. So if you were thinking of getting a cup nearby, then sipping it as you walk back to BWV, forget it! A few years ago, they made me stand inside the gate and finish my wine before I exited. And since I was catching ME soon, I drank kinda fast. It was the one time I was glad I got a small serving. Or did I get an overzealous security person that day?

Nope... you cannot take an open alcoholic beverage out of the park.
