**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

I am hungry already thinking of Food and Wine. It was hard to pare down this list to a few selections. Reprinting the entire menu is not the idea is it?

Returning Favs of mine include
Seared Barramundi with Blistered Cherry Tomatoes Arugula, and Lemon Oil
Lobster and Scallop Fisherman's Stew

New Ones if Major Interest
Steamed Mussels with Roasted Garlic Cream
Black Pepper Shrimp with Sichuan Noodles
Flavors of Africa (Salad, Bread, and Spreads)
Heirloom Tomatoes with Oregon Blue Cheese, Red Onions, and Basil

I will miss the Mouse Catch with the I-gourmet cheese.
Two years ago Wild Mushroom Spatzel to die for.
Last year, the Duck - yummy.

I admit that there have been times when a dish has not had the ingredients in the portion dished out. We returned on shrimp dish that was handed to us only with the garnish - oops, it happens. The Irish Fisherman's Stew has always treated us well. Not so the crawdaddy dish from LA - only rice. Again, I expect it happens, hopefully not frequently.

There's a post on the Theme Parks board asking if they charge extra for the wristband gift card. Someone there thinks they charge extra just for the wristband. I don't use the cards so I don't know if there is a "charge" for them - is there?

We have gotten them every year and have never been charged more then what we put on them!

ditto - no charge but you have to put some amount of money on it ... you can't just take one as a 'souvenir'.

I've never used the gift card but I might have to break down and get one this time as I am staying two weeks and that's too much cash to carry.

I had the fisherman's pie. I don't like lobster. I couldn't tell there was lobster in it...but then I only had half a pie as I was sharing it with someone. I couldn't tell there were scallops in it either. As far as I could tell it was a bowl of cheesy mashed potatoes.

I had one last year and was not charged for it.

This was in the Password newsletter I received today (email) ...
October 1–November 14, while quantities last during the Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival, Guests can pick up a complimentary Marketplace Discovery Passport—a make-believe version of the real thing—then go “globetrotting” around World Showcase to get it stamped as a treasure of their travels!

That doesn't sound very promising for the people that are attending the last weeks of the festival.

That doesn't sound promising. Our dates just changed a few days ago, and we'll be there at the end. I wonder if there is any chance they'll limit the Discovery Passports (and stamps) to adults, only?

I doubt they will.

As a child I often went to F&W to try all the good foods around the world - and I know it would have been sadden that I couldn't have had the passport even though I couldn't enjoy the wine.

Well, if people would just take one instead of 25 there might not be a problem but we all know what happens when something like this comes into play.

Jay and I will use one ... for both of us ... but that's because he has the handwriting of a serial killer. :rotfl2:

Gin .... I can pick one up for you and mail it once I get home if you want. :goodvibes

I don't really want a passport, so there's an extra one for the people who are going to take 12.

You can actually look up your card # online and see what the balance is!! I plugged my numbers in from my F & W card and found out I still have a balance of $8 on one, and $13 on the other. :goodvibes So now we can "finish it off" this trip (and even add more onto it, if we didn't want to get the new one"

We loved the card with the band on it, and used it at all the parks last year. It was so convenient to have it on our wrist, so we didn't have to dig for our card every time we made a purchase! We'll save them and use them during all our visits, not just F & W. :yay:

Where can you purchase the cards? I'll be entering from BWV through the International Gateway.
