**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

Well, the CM told me that the "official booklet" and "official list" that they have still lists Gale on 10/24.....I will just leave it and fingers crossed that she shows up!!

;)

Gale Gand will be there on the 24th. I asked her on facebook last month and she confirmed the date. :goodvibes

EDIT: Of course, things could have changed since she wrote back to me. I'll ask her again... I wonder if she switched dates with Richard?

That is awesome. I hope she did not switch dates. I really would like to attend her demo! Thanks :thumbsup2

Thought I'd ask over here, has anyone heard about whether the Sam Adams beer tasting sessions are going ahead this time? I can't see it in any of the paperwork, just see the regular Sam Adams Tent

Maybe more than one chef could be at Sweet Sundays or possibly Richard changed his dates from what he posted on his website? :confused3

There is no mention of the Sam Adams tastings being held this year in the booklet that TiW mailed out. I'm assuming that it's not being offered ... not a big loss at all in my opinion.

Thanks! This was where my head was going too. I couldn't see it but thought I might miss it!

All we can say is the Sam Adams seminar/tasting is not on the schedule. As to whether that means it's being offered or it's not being offered...no way to know for sure until the festival opens.

Well, I am not a beer drinking either...however, my husband who has the same 6 pack of beer in the frig. for over 3 months now...did enjoy the cold refreshing Sam Adams tasting. Me...I really, really enjoyed the cold, cold, cool bottle cap opener that they were giving away free!

It felt so refreshing on a hot Oct. day touching it to my face!!! :p And now I keep it on my key ring. And when someone notices it...they think it is the coolest bottle opener they have ever seen! Yeap...I keep it handy for those rootbeer bottles!!!

My DH and I both really enjoyed the Sam Adams tasting event and was looking forward to it again this year...

They need to bring the Karl Strauss beer tasting to Epcot from the California Adventure F&WF. That puts the Sam Adams one to shame. No cool keychain, but better beer and a better presentation.

::yes:: We loved those beers!

They need to do something. The presentation was dull and the samples were dull and the portion sizes were barely enough to moisten our mouths. Compared with what InBev used to to over at the Rose & Crown patio the Sam Adams tasting was a big disappointment and a total waste of time although we do use our bottle opener. ;)

To each his own ... we went to the tasting once. And that was enough as far as we were concerned.

Dilemma....

Party for the Senses...or Victoria and Albert in the GF for a Birthday celebration?

For what it's worth, you'd have a better return on your money at V&A. Their fixed price menu in the main dining room is still $125 per person ... maybe an additional $60 for wine pairings. It's seven courses with wonderful service and if you've never been well worth the money.

EDITED: of course it's all about what you want to do with your money; PFTS is fun but it's a cocktail party with several hundred other people. We've done it a couple of times and that was enough for us. Same with V&A, to tell the truth! :-)

For a celebration I'd do V&A unless you want to celebrate with several hundred of your closest friends.

We made that same choice this summer, and decided on V & A in October. We've done Party for the Senses in the past, which is nice, too, but I personally think V & A will be more special. Different atmosphere, different choices, with V & A being more intimate. Both will be good, whatever you choose.

So originally I was planning on being in Florida from a Thursday to a Sunday, making Friday the day my family and I were going to do F & W. However, I'm now planning on staying until Tuesday, and I'm wondering if I should switch our day to Monday. I'm thinking the deminars might not feature as many ?well-known names, but it might be overall less crowded. Thoughts? Advice?
