**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

Okey doke... Taste Shake & Indulge Like the French has now been added to the Disney F&W site. I got an email thank you for bringing it to their attention. Nice touch, though I would have preferred free tickets. ;)

Free tixs would have been good.. but a thank you from us.. well, it's a thank you! :thumbsup2

Thanks LouisianaDisneyFan! I agree free tickets would have been even better!

Actually even better would be a real schedule of events out months before the fest, so we could plan accordingly. But us poor pitiful Disney addicts will be thankful for every teensy bit of info they give us!

have they fixed their typo? Last night it said that Grand Marnier was made with cognao ... :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

...Also, is there a map of the F&W festival that will be available online prior to the events? We are going to try to map out where we want to go before we leave.

Thanks!

Hi there! On the disneyfoodblog, they have what looks like a preliminary map of the food booths from the TIW preview event

I can't post links, because I am mostly a lurker (trying to break out!)...but if you go to disneyfoodblog.com and then click on the 2010 Epcot Food and Wine Festival Page (links are on the right), under Breaking News the first post has a link to 2010 Epcot Food and Wine Festival booths and menus. Click on that and right on top is the map.

It's a little rough, but it's a start!! It feeds the need at least a little! :tigger:

That is likely outdated. The Festival Center used to be at Future World East before it moved to The Pavilion Formerly Known as Wonders of Life. There is a lot of outdated information out there. Even the official Disney site has last year's Eat to the Beat concert schedule.

I am assuming you need a map for the World Showcase...they generally do release one when the official festival booklet gets put online. We don't know when that will be right now though.

You may not have to wait until August 26th to see the schedule, that's just the only specific date that's come out of Disney and that date is for actually booking deminars at the Festival Center. They may release information before that but we don't have any way of knowing when or if they will.

Ah I am glad I asked! Thank you so much for all your help. :goodvibes

Any idea what the "15 Beers" thing is on the map? It's listed as "new". I've heard all of the other new items discussed (and see them on the food menu listing) but have no idea what that is?

Am guessing it is this year's version of last year's Beer Hop. If that's so they will have 15 beers and you will pay a fixed price to choose 4 or 5 to taste. And no, they haven't released which beers they will have yet.

I am really hoping that is what it is...I enjoyed that last year and the friends that are going with us this year really enjoy different beers...particularly Belgian wheat beer...but most of all, tasting and trying different kinds!

I'm glad to find a whole board of people as excited about FAW as I am! Is it correct that you have to pay for everything when you book, not when you go to the event? I'm booking for $5 adults, so it's good to know!

I'm also debating filling all of our days with specialty events (We're there Oct 1-3) vs doing the sampling around the World. Last year when we were there, all we did was the individual food stands/sampling, and I felt like I missed out. Are the events really worth not doing the individual stands?

Yes, you have to pay when you book and it's non-refundable! Very good info to have before you pay for 5 people! ;)

I would leave some free time - he events are great but again non-refundable and the food booths are a lot of fun! Just my two cents! :yay:

Yes, and the special events are not refundable.

There have been varying stories of success about getting a refund on the Festival Center deminars. My friend who does not eat meat managed to get refunded on at least one prebooked culinary demo - the menus are not announced ahead of the day of presentation, so she had to ask for a refund the day of. Another time they refused to give her a refund but someone in line was glad to buy the ticket from her. At any rate there seems to be a bit of a hassle around getting them refunded.

If you have any dietary restrictions it is probably better to wait and see the deminar menus unless you want to see the chef. If you have dietary restrictions and are signing up for a special event I think you can have your request for something different from the regular menu (fish or poultry instead of red meat, etc.) put in ahead of time.

It's good to know people have had luck with diet restrictions. I don't eat red meat, and I was worried about one of the events we were considering (The French Regional Lunch) and red meat.

Looking again at the schedule, maybe I should just scrap the French Lunch, although it sounds fabulous. We wanted to do that on Friday, Tequila on Saturday and then ADR at Le Cellier for dinner on Saturday night, then Sunday Sweets. I love the guys doing the Sunday Sweets on 10/3, so I don't want to give that one up! But unfortunately I need to run this idea by the other 4 in our party...

In the above post I was talking about refunds for the seminars and demonstrations held in the Festival Center, not the special events. I don't think you can ask for a refund on a special event because you aren't going to eat what's being served. I believe there is a way you can put in a request to have it on your reservation ahead of time that you do not eat red meat. I think my friend has also mentioned to the coordinators AT the event (before it starts) that she does not eat red meat and they've provided a substitute for the meat course for her. French Regional Lunch would possibly do this.

The seminars and demonstrations are different as the menus are set and the tasting portions are mass-produced BEFORE the seminar in the show kitchen.

There is a rumor going around that Candlelight Processional packages will also start booking on July 20.

I can't see that this is anything more than a rumor but it might result in increased traffic on the phones that day if enough people go for it.

Why in the name of all that is customer friendly would Disney do that? :headache:

I don't think Disney will do that...but the rumor is out there. And there are some folks who are desperate for a Candlelight Processional package who might latch onto the rumor.
