But as usual it doesn't address every possible question that could come up, and they say to call Shades of Green after Jan 3rd with questions.

I'm interested to know if they're going to offer a possible room discount, because I have a pin for a room discount, and the only way I can add the Dining Plan is if I add tickets, and we won't need those.
The only way it would be appealing is if we can use those tickets with a package, because my DH is very attached to the Dining Plan. I really doubt I could convince him to go without the Dining Plan.

If you still have to buy tickets to get the dining plan, you could just pay for a one day ticket for each person and save those tickets for another trip.

Can the tickets be purchased and then used later in the year than Sept 30th. It said on the site something like the tickets are valid until that date or when all the entitlements have been used whichever is first.. Anyone else think that may be the case or should I just hope that they extend the offer through the end of the year.

I didnt see this asked yet.. but does anyone know yet what will happen if we already bought our tickets? My husband and I are both military and we are going the 24-30th of January and just bought our tickets last week :P Will we get a voucher like they did for the birthday deal this year? Or get our money back....??

Thanks!

We bought tickets in July 2008 (before the annual price increase) for our trip in January 2009. Then they came out with the military ticket offer for 2009...so we bought those too. We used the military tickets, and have saved the ones we had bought earlier for another trip. Now we know we have to go back! :thumbsup2 I saved the receipt with them, and it will be interesting to see how much the same ticket would cost whenever we get to use the 2008 tickets!

According to official information:
All tickets are valid until September 30, 2010 regardless of the date of first use.
means to me that on October 1 the tickets will be dead.

Just as this week all 2009 Armed Forces Salute tickets expire on Wednesday (December 23). If anyone tries to use them on Thursday (or later) the turnstiles will reject them, showing a message on the Greeter side of "outside date range". Even if the tickets are completely unused they will no longer have any value.

The problem with that is our next couple trips will probably be to other Disney parks. We're moving to Korea next September, and I would be worried that I would lose the tickets somewhere along the way...

I think I may have come up with a decent solution though. We're thinking that we may drive down to Disney while we're visiting my sister in Georgia in February, and then instead of staying on property we would just stay in her in-law's house.

A question I came up with because of that is whether or not my sister and her husband would be able to any extra days without myself or my husband there before the expiration date in September.

I am so glad this was announced. I am traveling in February and was looking forward to a Disney discount being announced

As long as the tickets were purchased and activated there is no problem. They may ask for the names at the time the tickets are activated, in which case the names will print on the tickets. They do not have to be with you at the time the tickets are activated.

On December 16 Disney announced the 2010 Armed Forces Salute. It is somewhat more restrictive than the 2009 version.

It is for active and retired U.S. Military including Coast Guard and active members of the Reserves or National Guard. It also includes permanently disabled veterans with a valid military ID card.

Tickets may be purchased January 3, 2010 through July 31, 2010.

All tickets are valid until Midnight September 30, 2010, regardless of date of first use.

Block-out dates of March 27, 2010 through April 9, 2010 at all locations and July 3 and 4 at Magic Kingdom only.

The tickets are four day base tickets for $99 (plus tax) each. There is no free ticket for the service member. the Park Hopper and the Water Parks Fun & More options can be added for $25 (plus tax) for each option. The tickets cannot have either more days or No Expire added.

Each service member may purchase up to six tickets during the validity period of the offer. If the service member is not present, the spouse or unremarried widow may purchase up to five tickets during the validity period.

The tickets may be upgraded to Seasonal (for Florida Residents) or Annual Passes based on the $99, $124, or $149 value and price bridging will not be performed.

Where would we be without you!

My father is active duty Air Force, but he and my mother just recently divorced, he will be overseas for most of 2010, does anyone know if I would be able to take advantage of this offer for our June 2010 trip. I am 25 and married so I am no longer consider a dependant.

If we use are tickets in August can we wait Intel Dec to upgrade to annual passes?

 Thank you Disney and to the OP for posting this. :woohoo: If we add the water park option, how does that work, do we have to use that as 1 of the 4 days? Please forgive my holiday fried brain. Thanks.

I will assume your mother no longer has a DD1173 so he would have to purchase and activate the tickets. The tickets can only be activated by a service member or a person whose DD1173 indicates Spouse or Unremarried Widow.

Any word on if you can purchase the dining plan without the ticket package like you could in 09'? Is Disney making these tickets available or is it still done on the bases/Shades of Green?

If the serviceman is deceased, can his widow purchase tickets?

I'm pretty sure you just have to have a valid military ID, so if the widow has one than yes, if not than probably no. If you can get into the commisary, you can probably get into Disney.

*sigh* I let myself get so excited when I saw this. My family is going next year and my father is retired Air Force but the trip won't be until December. I've been waiting to see if they extended this year's deal and this one would have done since we're only going for 4 days. Guess I'll have to wait a little longer to see if this (or a similar deal) gets extended to next December and budget for full price tickets just in case.
