2009 Swap Calendar

Don't we have to sign-up before we mail- are your sign-up dates Jan 3rd or March 1st- I think you write your dates opposite overseas. Do you want me to help you with yahoo groups and stuff with these?

The park swaps are bunched together -- March MK, April Epcot, June AK,July DHS. I can move Magic Kingdom swap to either January or October, or leave it alone. Last year it was in March. Any thoughts on this? I think I like January.

Sorry - silly me and my dates! I thought sign-ups 1 jan (so we can buy cheap albums in the sales ) 1st mailing mid-Feb, or possibly end Feb. I'll always be sending mine earlier (*** of time for mail) and I'll need to find a swap buddy (obviously I'll send $$ for postage). But yes please for help with Yahoo groups Rebecca, and also with which order to put people in once signed up to reduce post distances (my geography is shaky!).

I think January is already too crowded to add anything else in. I also think that the park swaps are more popular in the spring and summer- by the fall people prefer smaller swaps with school starting and things like that so many times you can't fill groups in the fall- I know last years AK swap had just one group per area and they were not all full - I think part of that had to do with the time of year.

I can work with you on it and be your swap buddy- I am more than happy to help organize things but I don't want to have to remind people to send them on- I am bad enough with doing it myself.

For the recipe swaps- VickiV said they would hostess. They said just put them on the calendar and they would do they. I would suggest 2 dates and we can have Disney groups and some of the other recipes in each. Maybe one in end of May due the begining of July and one in end of August due early October. We have generally done them in 6 weeks in the past.

As for the parks together.. I think Rebecca is right... most people prefer to have the smaller groups in the fall due to back to school, sports, holidays, etc... more hours in the day during the spring/summer months... but that is just my 2 cents...

If we give that a signup date of 1/2-we could have everyone signed up and well on their way to completing subjects & sign in pages by the time your signs up are posted. Because you are doing two swap sign ups in January, I'd be willing to take on the setting up the Yahoo group to help out-with you proofreading my work. If we know when the sign ups are, we can all be spending our Christmas vacation looking at the twopeas gallery and other places to figure out subjects and layouts.
It's not like I'm super excited about starting a new CJ or anything.

I meant I didn't think we should move the MK swap to January- not that we couldn't sign up for Circle journals then. The park swaps tend to get large and the circle journal is a monthly time committment.

Do you think we should add a newbie swap? We didn't have any last year (I think). I know that as a group, we are very welcoming to newcomers and that there are no restrictions on the swaps. However, I remember being a lurker on the swap boards and it was the safety aspect of the newbie swap that pulled me in.

On the other hand, the calendar looks pretty full and fun! Lots of swaps to sign up for.
