2009 Reservations - timing questions

Hi,

If I wanted to book rooms for a grand gathering starting 12/1/09, am I correct in assuming the 499 day rule applies?

And if so, I believe that puts the date to reserve at 7/20/08. Correct?

If I'm correct, that's a Sunday. Are they open Sunday mornings for reservations? Or would I have to call on a different day?

Also, once 2009 pricing is released, can I just call and add park tickets, park hopper, and dining plan (if we do those)?

No, I think GG's are the same as other packages? The 09 packages aren't out yet- so you can book a room only with rack rate and when the 09 packages are released (usually Aug.) then you cancel the room only and book a package.

You can book a room only reservation 499 days in advance, but it really is 499 days from your last day in the resort, not your first. So, if you wanted to book the room only reservation you would need to calculate the 499 days from the end of the vacation not the beginning. Also, if you do book the room only and then change to a package, they will refund your original deposit and charge you a new one when you make the package reservation.
Also, you can call on a Sunday to make reservations, just in case your 499 day mark still falls on a Sunday.

Not quite. They'll change the room only into a package without cancelling anything. You'll still have the same reservaton number, but now it's the room + DDP + MYW = package.


VTWEP; you are correct about calling back and adding the package. At that time they'll also ajust the price of the room. As rates aren't out yet, they'll stick you with the regular rate for 2008 for the time being. CRO is open on sunday morning, so you could give it a try.

Unless the rooms you want are very hard to get (for instance standard view at WL during christmas) and/or very limited, I would wait untill the 2009 rates are out. It would only be about 2 weeks after that 20th of july. It would safe you the hassle of calling back a second time to change it into a package.

I did just book my room for sept. 2009, but only because there aren't even a handfull of the roomtype I want. Otherwise I would've waited untill the releasing of the rates. But than again; that is totally up to you. If you don't feel comfortable to wait; don't.

Wrong. They will cancel and rebook. Room onlys are 12 digit res numbers. Packages are 8 digits.
