Just received an e-mail that the info for the 2009 Orlando SDV is now up on their site.

I saw it but I am not ready to commit to which package for next year yet. I really need to sell the house before I make a decision.

Oh, oh, oh, somehow it seems more real! Off to see the packages, print it out, and look it over. :dance3: :dance3:

Curious, because I didn't pay attention to it last year so I need to ask this year, do you get a discount for your park tickets through SDV? And can you add days to the package with their rates or do you have to pay rack rate for extra nights?

AWM, BAMB, MomK, myself, and Denni got convention prices on our park tickets. Some of us got hopper passes, some got the basic.

Closer toward the convention, they do open up the opportunity to add days to the beginning or end of your resort stay. If memory serves me, :rotfl2: I believe the rate was $210 for the Yacht Club.

Are you thinking of coming?!!!

Only if I can get my MIL to leave FIL for a few days to get the boys on the bus. It'll be the first week of school then. My eldest will be riding the early bus for the first time and Little Bit will still be on the second bus. Don't think my DH can go into work late that many days in a row.

I was thinking about a three day crop my LSS has in March in upper Ohio and they want $359 for a quad. For a little bit more I can be DISNEY!!

I got the email too and I was surprised it was out so soon. Is it always this early? I can't commit to anything this far in advance, but I am really shooting for it!

It opened in March last year so this is really early. I suspect that it will not fill up for awhile. Many people may not be able to make up there minds this early, plus have the extra $75 for the deposit.

Oh man, this is a killer. I'd have to cancel our Disney cruise to go, but I was thinking of cancelling it anyway. Then I'd have to convince DH that it was OK for me to go to WDW without him and the kids......what to do, what to do!

I would love to do this, but my scrapping partner sister- who doesn't like Disney(I don't know how she is related to me- LOL)would not go for this. We may try some of the other places though.

Just tell her it is a scrapbooking event in Orlando that just happens to be at a Disney Resort. She doesn't have to do anything Disney. The 2008 event was my first and so I signed up for so many classes that I never even had time to think about going to any parks. Of course, the weather didn't help either. I have a sister that is non Disney and then I have another sister that is as Disney crazy as I am. :confused3

I'll be your sister!! I don't have any, I got stuck with brothers. LOL

Tell her it may be at WDW but with 72 hours of crop time and classes she'd never have to leave.

I don't have any sisters either, so I'll be your scrapping sister too!

Honestly, with so much going on for the 72 hours of scrapping, your sister will barely realize she is on DISNEY grounds.

Never mind.
There is no way I can go.
Just came back from the Dentist. It's looking like 1100 OOP to fix TWO teeth. And that is with the insurance. Course our benefits are $1000 per year for the WHOLE family combined and we used some to fix the boys' teeth.
Not that I think my DH is going to go for getting both teeth fixed this year. I have lots more, but these two are next to each other and it saves on novacain to do it at the same time. I have decent teeth now, but my childhood dentist took out way too much enamel and put in way too much silver stuff in my molars. They all have to be fixed.

OK so for the room, if you do the dream weekend Friday/ Saturday quad, 4 to a room.
It's $336 - the $75 deposit / by 10 months = $26.10 per month to have it paid by the deadline of June 22, 2009 = 87 cents per day

For the Early Bird which is Thurs/Fri/Sat scrapping Fri/Sat quad:
$375 - $75 deposit / by 10 months = $30 per month, that's $1 per day.

Or you can do what we did and book a 2 day local package for $202 and talk directly to the hotel to be a 5th person in the room. that is 202 - 75 / 10 = 12.17 per month or 43 cents per day. I believe the room was something like $15 per day for the 5th person.

then the flights, just keep looking for deals through Southwest.

And the key thing is you need everyone in your room on the same package.

I definitely would like to do the Early bird, Thur/Fri/Sat hotel. Scrapping Fri thru Sunday is a good amount of time.

My crew already talked, (on the plane home this year) about next year. We are probably going to fly down late Tue. night, stay at the Hyatt. I can get a great rate there, then do the parks Wed./Thurs. We aren't going to leave until late Sun or perhaps Monday. Think I should clue my DH into this? ;) :lmao:
