2009 Discussion-We'll make time fly by!

I am reminding myself that when summer stuff - shorts, sleeveless tops, swimsuits, sandals - go on clearance in a couple months that I need to bargain shop!!! DD still changes sizes every year so what she wears this summer likely won't fit next spring!! Luckily, her bday is March 1st and Target always has their shorts and swimsuits out before then so she gets stuff as gifts too. DS's bday isn't until right after we return, but he grows slowly so all the size 6's he's getting now (his birthday is Wednesday!) should still fit next spring.

Well I have my "Disney box" packed full. All the stuff we only take to Disney with us. Our homemade shirts, ponchos, backpacks and stuff like that. I am really bad about packing early. Our trip is Sept. 09 so I will have the suitcases out next summer to fill them. Luckily my husband is as bad as I am so he doesn't mind.

in a few more days it'll be a year for us! :cool1:
im itching to get the suitcases ready, already buying clothes.
hope time goes quickly :goodvibes
:upsidedow :upsidedow

Hi everyone we are going in feb starting the 23 but parks days start the 24 I can't wait. This will be my husband's welcome home from Kuwait trip. He is gone for 12 months. I am in charge of all the planning and he is in charge of most of the TS meals steak steak steak  but what hubby wants hubby will get he deserves it. MAN DO I MISS THAT MAN!!! :sad1: What is keeping me busy is work and the disboards. I can't wait to drive under the Walt Disney World sign sitting by my husband and listening to the kids laugh with delight and happiness I just hope it comes soon I want my hubby home.
THAT SURE IS GREAT. THANKS TO YOU AND YOUR HUGGY FOR ALL YOUR SACRAFICE. I'D BE SURE TO MENTION IT WHEN BOOKING YOUR TRIP ABOUT YOUR HUBBY RETURNING - YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT LITTLE EXTRA'S MIGHT THROW IN. :)

It's sad, there are things I haven't UNPACKED since our last trip. Heck, with under 10 mo left, I might just keep them in there :)

Do you know what's sadder? I'll buy things for our trip and then forget where I put them :rotfl: :rotfl: . I had better leave notes and a bread crumb trail so I can find them :lmao: .

Has anyone else been looking into flights for 2009? I can't beleive how much they have gone up. What is usually around $350-$400 is now $550 for 2009 :scared1:

Not sure what we are going to do because $550 is just too much for us times 4.

I am sure it is because of the fuel prices.

I bought a big plastic storage bin after the last trip so I could throw in all the things we use for disney each year. As I hit Disney sales during the year, I'll throw in a few little toys, shirts, etc for the trip, too. If I don't put them in the bin, I'll forget I bought them, or I won't be able to find them!

Maybe the prices will go down by the time your trip comes in 2009.
We always drive (@ 12 hours), so airline prices won't affect our trip.

I know what you mean, I am looking at $800 each for us, and last week it was $7something. I am scared do I just bite the bullet and buy them now, or do I wait and see if the prices will drop, with the risk of them only raising and then I can't afford to buy them.

We also drive (my DH doesn't fly), it's about 19 hours total each way. I'd much rather fly and be there in 2 1/2 hours, but with the way prices are going up - maybe this time I'll be glad we're driving!!

I will admit I have also looked at flight prices just for a general ballpark figure. They weren't as bad as I feared - I'm hoping they go down, not up, though!

I have a question - are most of you already booking your room only reservations and then planning on adding other stuff, or waiting until the packages come out this summer and then booking? I'm planning on waiting until the packages come out (going in March '09) but it has crossed my mind whether I will have trouble booking that "late"?

I'm waiting until packages come out, but we're going the first week of May (not too busy of a time) and are doing Garden View Poly (plenty of rooms). I'm not sure how busy March will be next year since Easter is in April, but if things you're reading indicate it will be busy and/or you want a very specific room type (special view or family suites, for example) that there aren't a TON of - you may want to book room-only now and then upgrade to a package.

Hi all, we are definitely going in 2009 and staying at ASMu,hopefully. What we haven't decided is what time of year to go. I would like to go during the last week of August for my DD's 7th birthday and , hopefully, free dining;) . However, my Dh hates hot weather, and I'll admit I'm not fond of it either. Dh wants to go the week before Thanksgiving. I know the weather would be better but no free dining. DD doesn't know we are even thinking about going for her birthday, so she wouldn't be upset if we waited until November. I would love to hear others opinions on our dates!

OK, I told you guys that you will have to put up with each one of my little celebrations

16 months from today I will be going to WDW!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

How exciting to find this thread! We are going to WDW in January. I can't wait!

Originally we were going to stay at AKL, but decided to go to SOG instead. By doing that we get to go to Disney longer.

I've also started mentally packing :) We just got back from a trip in the states and I bought the kids a ton of new clothes. After we decided to come back to the states and go to WDW I've been putting the clothes in a suitcase in my closet :rotfl: I like for everyone to have new vacation clothes!!!

I can't wait to start making my ADR's!
