2009 Discussion-We'll make time fly by!

I love listening to DisRadio. Wish I could listen to it at work but they won't let us. At least I have a lot of park CD's loaded on my MP3 player and that really helps. I also listen to about 10 podcasts. I have Disney in my ears all day at work! Only problem is that I find myself daydreaming about our trips and so I tend to slow down on the whole "work" thing.

Love DIS radio, never thought to put it on my mp3 player. I'll have to look into that this weekend, since I can listen to music at work if I want to, it'll be great to have Disney at work with me..along with my Disney calendar and pictures from our last trip of course. I still have 17 months to go or 510 days, 6 hours, 39 minutes and 16 seconds. Either way, that's a long ways a way.

How do you listen to DISradio...I can listen to the pod but not radio...or am I stupid are they the same thing...

Count me in for 2009 too! We want to do our DD's first trip before she starts school and has to take time out, so we're going the last week in January 2009. She'll have just turned 5 and we can't wait!! :)

Sounds fun.... You should be sure to take her to the new playhouse Disney in Hollywood Studios (MGM). We went in Jan just days after it re-opened and our 5 year old loved it........

Don't worry about going after she's in school too. At least not in the younger years. We've pulled out of school, it worked out just fine. I always say that people on their death bed don't look back on their lives and say they wished they would have kept their kids in school more - or spent more time at the office.... they look back and say I wish I would have spent more time with my family.

I agree about not worrying and the wishing to spend more time with family. My oldest son has missed a week of school every other year and he is now in the 5th grade and is in the enriched program here, so it really hasn't done to much damage. Though next year he will be in junior high when we go, so I am a little worried about him missing a week, BUT I am not so worried that we aren't going. Spring break is the only time that really works for me, and if I am going to spend as much money as we do on plane tickets etc, then it has to be a longer vacation then a week. Life's to short.

Hi - I haven't visited the boards/thread in a while because I was worried that the budget wouldn't work out to be able to go...but we got a large tax refund this year, so we are definitely on for March '09 - WOO HOO!! I see I'm already on the list, thanks! :cool1:

I wasn't aware I could already book the vacation (last time I looked into it was December, and then they didn't seem to be booking the packages). Guess I need to start researching.

Hi, gang!
I don't think I have posted for a couple of weeks. It was and is still nuts around here. I am looking forward to Spring Break and enjoying some time off from school and work.

We are still definitely planning for June 09 and we will probably be staying at Port Orleans Riverside now. But that will probably change again by the time we leave.:rotfl:

I hope you all are doing well and I will try harder to come by and say hi more often!

Hi all! I'm a fellow 2009er!!!! I am planning our first Disney trip for May 2009! We are all so escited. I have already started maping out our itenarary and choosing our ADR's. My girls will be 9 and 2 (she turns 3 the day we leave) on their very first trip to Disney!!! We are trying to decide between POR or POFQ

We are still planning to go in October of '09 with my parents. I am sooooo excited!!! It just seems sooooo far away. We are hoping to stay at the Poly again. It is just beautiful and I want my parents to see it and enjoy the ease of the monorail.

Hi all of my 2009 friends. I haven't posted in awhile, just wanted to pop in and say hello. I have not done anymore planning as of yet. I will probably wait until early summer to talk with extended family and get a count of who will be going. October of 2009 is going to have to stick, although I am worried about the rain.
I am having a hard time thinking vacation right now due to the rising cost of fuel and the fact that we need propane AGAIN! Budgeting is not my strong point, so when things like this come up, I get discouraged. Sorry about my venting everyone!!!
I too am looking forward to spring break and some time home with my ds's. Happy planning all and have a good weekend!:goodvibes

I feel your pain pixidust princess, the rising cost of everything is very discouraging. For a lot of reasons, we wont be taking a vacation this year. DH just started a new job and I went back to work full time again recently, so I'm hoping that we will actually be a head with the bills by the end of summer when I can make reservations for 2009.

By no means am I going to be out of debt soon, but DH and I work hard to afford this trip. One step at a time because a lot can change between now and 2009. Have a good weekend everyone.

Just sent the first official email out to friends and family I hope join us for my 40th trip to WDW next year. We did settle on the dates (for now at least ;) ) We'll be there Sept 12-22. Hoping we have enough people that we can do a Grand Gathering Event, so now I'm off to research those. Also hoping for good discounts for everyone else during that time...now that we own DVC it won't effect us as much (which is also why we now get to also go back later this year.)

I am feeling your pain! We have to pay taxes this year (again) and we were expecting a refund to go towards next year's trip....oh, well. That is why we have decided to stay at POR instead of Poly and we are sharing a room with my MIL and BIL. BUT, things can change. We are hoping a tax refund for next year and I will be saving. I would rather go cheap to WDW than not at all.

Daisy 77 I would love to stay at Poly also. If we stay onsite, POR will be our choice too. I am seriously considering doing a vacation rental home, due to the possibility that 9-10 of could be going. That would cut down on the cost for us alot. I think I would miss staying on property horrilby though.
I am going to concentrate on getting caught up this year and dedicate 2009 extra funds to WDW. As long as the economy does not stiff us I should be in decent shape.
Stay positive fellow disers and think happy thoughts! Hopefully good things will come our way!:goodvibes
