2009 dining plan

Lilolvr, I'm sorry but it appears as if your second quote contradicts your first one.
You first say all non WDW restaurants will participate, but your quote from Buzz2001 says several restaurants in Epcot are NOT participating as well as some from DTD that used to.

Did I miss something?
Meant to say WILL NOT

We made reservations just this past Thursday for June, 2009 and the CM told me that there will be 2 snack credits for the regular dining l=plan, but my reservation confirmation did not state 2, just 1.

Anybody know anything about this?

I have been trying to make reservations for March 23 2009 and have been told they are only accepting reservations up until March 22 2009.

How did you get ressies for June? :confused3

Please tell me how....:worship:

Thanks....

think this poster means they made they're room reservations & also signed up for the dining plan...not that the got restaurant reservations (even if the old 180 days was going you couldn't make June ressies yet:rolleyes1 )

Deluxe Dining has two snack credits a day....

and the quick service plan has 2 snack credits a day (2 snacks & 2 quick service)

brennicksmom, did you request the Quick Service plan or the Deluxe Plan? That is the only way you could get 2 snacks per person per day.

If you really did want the Basic dining plan, then it is one snack, one quick service & one table service per person for each night you're staying at a Disney hotel. If that's what you want & that's what is showing on your confirmation, then you're good to go...and you had a rookie CM telling you the wrong info.

But if you did not want that version of the plan, then better call them back & get it corrected!

Now that makes sense.......

Thanks:thumbsup2

I called Disney to make an adr for "Big River Grille and Brewing Works" Disney told me they were in the ddp, but they couldn't make reservations. I had to call them directly. I called Big River and they told me they were participating for 2009, but they aren't listed yet. Not sure what the hold up is listing restaurants.

I would think if they start cutting back on alot of the restaurants I'm not sure we'd continue with the ddp in the future. yes, its a good value, but sometimes its hard to get an adr. Now if there are going to be considerably less restaurants I would think that would make it even harder to get adrs with those that are participating. We do like counter service at Earl of Sandwich & Wolfgang puck express.

Looks like all non owned WDW restaurants will not participate in 2009.

As far as we can tell, this is a rumor. We will not know for sure until WDW updates its restaurant list. In the past, only one restaurant has dropped the dining plan - Fulton's dropped it after 2005. The others that have traditionally participated have all signed up each year.

There only a couple actually in the parks that are not and to my knowledge never have been on the DDP! They are RainForest anf Bistro !

Rainforest Cafe does not participate, but it is not located inside a theme park - it is outside the gates of AK. The only TS restaurant inside a theme park that does not participate in the dining plan is Bistro de Paris.

Cap'n Jack's and the Food Quest outlet in Disney Quest are the only DTD restaurants owned and operated by Disney. So far, they are the only DTD restaurants listed as accepting the dining plan in 2009.

This happens every year... it is just the time of year that causes some confusion because of the negotiations for the next year. We booked Marrakesh and they told us that they hadn't been confirmed yet but that this is common and that if we check back in a month or so, they should have more info.

So...while I'm making my ADRs, should I be asking each time if the restaurant participates? I've only got 2 so far, one at 1900 Park Fare and one at Chefs de France.

I still think the best advice is: until you hear otherwise, use the 2008 restaurant list to determine which restaurants will participate.

If the 2009 list is completed (the final one will doubtless show up on this board as soon as it's out) and there are restaurants that decided not to participate, and you then have reservations at nonparticipating restaurants, cancel them and make new ones at participating restaurants.

Fair enough, thanks. I feel so rusty - it's been so long since our last trip (the only one I've been in charge of organizing).

BUT - happily, I have my 2009 Unofficial Guide in hand now - I bought it yesterday, and I feel so contented. I just have to get time alone without the kids around to see what I'm reading, since it's a surprise. Give me a few days and I'll have my "Disney legs" again.

I made the vacation reservations, I have to wait for 180 days out for ADRs-sorry for any confusion. and Yes, we wanted the basic dining plan and that is what our reservations state. Thanks for the help

It may be but no one will know for sure until the end of the year.

2009 is going to be the first time I use DDP and I'm a little confused about the way snacks work. The list that is in the official DDP PDF is a lot shorter than the 2008 snack guide on the boards.

Does the official DDP PDF always show a small list of suggested snacks or is this a change for 2009?

The examples included in the brochure haven't changed, and don't even scratch the surface of the available options. The snack guide here is a much better list.

I just got off the phone with a Dining Plan CM and she just informed me that both Les Chefs de France and Teppan Edo (I have ADRs at both) will be accepting the Dining plan in 2009.

I hope you're right, I called yesterday and the CM I spoke with said they wouldn't know until mid-December. I'm making back-up reservations for Jan. just in case!

Well as of this morning "all" CMs should know that both Chefs de France and Teppan Edo are confirmed for 2009 DDP.

Sorry for doubting you jenjolt, but you can never be too careful!
