When will the final decisions be made on restaurants to be added to the dining plan? There are several in Epcot that are on the dining plan in 2008, but not on the 2009 plan. We have reservations at both Teppan Edo and Tutto Italia, but neither are on the dining plan...we're sad. Does anyone know when Disney makes final decisions on this? Thanks! :scared:

Lots of restaurants were not listed before and they were added later ! I think it's a contract hold up!!There only a couple actually in the parks that are not and to my knowledge never have been on the DDP! They are RainForest anf Bistro !

Yea, I was just wanting to hold out for Teppan or Tutto. Those are both on the 2008 plan now. I feel bad holding those reservation spots because if they turn out not to be on the dining plan, we wouldn't use them. I would cancel them before we go of course, but I just feel bad holding them because we're thinking they would be added...I hate waiting!

Last year, an expanded list came out in mid-Nov but the full, final list wasn't settled until December.

Looks like all non owned WDW restaurants will participate in 2009.

Where did you get this info? I have a couple ADR's for the holdout restaurants in Jan I'm wondering if I need to change them. I might even need to change my resort if CSR restaurants don't join the DDP. Do you have a link with an updated list.

In the Birnbaum little dining book, it said that the Dole Whip place wasn't on the list for 2009 - are they usually? I'm committed to trying a Dole Whip this trip!

Yes it is usually, but if for some reason it wasn't, at least it's just a couple of bucks. ;)

But as far as those book go... They have to go to print with the info they have at that time, and since some contracts don't get finalized until year's end they can't possibly have a complete list.

While those books are nice, the information is so much more up to date here on the DIS. I had to tell someone who had been reading their CURRENT guidebook that Chip and Dale were not at CM anymore, and hadn't been in a couple of years! :)

Hi Julie- I didn't mean your your info came from I meant what Lilolvr said:

"Looks like all non owned WDW restaurants will participate in 2009."

Where did she/he get that info? I just talked to Disney dining and the guy I talked to said he couldn't imagination that CSR wouldn't be on the DDP. That they just had to dot the i's and cross the t's. Not sure how accurate that is but when I asked if there was a deadline date he said Jan 1st which doesn't help me to make a decision about switching resorts for my jan 25th trip.

I just got off the phone with a Dining Plan CM and she just informed me that both Les Chefs de France and Teppan Edo (I have ADRs at both) will be accepting the Dining plan in 2009.

I read it on this board.

Last year the PM, Maya Grill and Siestas didn't sign up until December BUT I heard from a friend at CSR that the Pepper Market is losing money by participating in the dining plan.

Also, there will be only 2 restaurants at Downtown Disney that will take it (Captain Jack's and Food Quest in DisneyQuest).

The number of countries is also going down as well. Only Canada, the UK, Norway, Germany, and the US will accept the dining plan.

It looks to be all restaurants that are run by outside companies will no longer be participating in the dining plan.

It's not in stone yet but just a heads up.

Lilolvr, I'm sorry but it appears as if your second quote contradicts your first one.
You first say all non WDW restaurants will participate, but your quote from Buzz2001 says several restaurants in Epcot are NOT participating as well as some from DTD that used to.

Did I miss something?

well, this certainly is good news...Hopefully the rest will soon follow suit. As others have posted, I really cannot see all those non-Disney restaurants not accepting the dining plan...seems like it makes more business sense all around to continue to offer the variety of choices which will appeal to more people. While some places may have had profit margins cut last year (well, they all probably did with the rising food & transport costs) that would not mean they would refuse to deal this year...just means both sides would be changing the terms to be more equitable for 2009. Disney is undoubtedly negotiating suitable contracts since it will be win-win if all those restaurants continue to participate.

 Love it when bad-news rumors prove to be false...pixie dust!pixiedust:

We made reservations just this past Thursday for June, 2009 and the CM told me that there will be 2 snack credits for the regular dining l=plan, but my reservation confirmation did not state 2, just 1.

Anybody know anything about this?

That's incorrect. Is your reservation for 2 people? Then she may have meant 2 per day, one for each person.
