For those that will be @ free dining in August, will there be a thread as soon as the Bounce Back for 2009 is announced? We go in Sept and would like to know asap if there is Bounce Back for 2009. If there is bounceback for 2009, will I be able to book more than one room? I will book my ressie and I want to book my parents a room too...................when you book, you don't need a ID do you? My friend is sharing a room with me, perhaps she could book my mothers room????????????? any thoughts?:confused3 :stir:

I am going to move this to the Codes and Rates Forum where it is probably more appropriate. :)

Disney has an offer that you can book while still staying at the resort. Currently it is a percentage off for a future stay. During the free dining they had the free dining bounceback. Book while staying during free dining and get next years with free dining. All you have to do is make a deposit,

You have to be a registered guest to book the bounceback promotion. If your friends name is on the reservation, she will not be able to book a room in your mother's name. You cannot book two rooms yourself. You don't need ID - you call on the phone.

I'm in the same situation, so I have done the research on this one! I'm going with a friend 8/29-9/2 this year, and plan to go with DH and my brother's family next year the first week in September.

We bounced back last year for free dining this Sept., I was told by the CM (when we booked) that we could have booked two rooms in my name. If they offer a nother bounceback...we are thinking of booking a room for DH and I and a room for our son and a guest.

Thank you for the question, we too will be visiting in Sept '08 and would like to know the bounce back offer at that time as well.

I think you can book up to 3 rooms in your name. I know my mom's friend last year (when we booked bounceback) DID book 3 rooms on the phone before we left.:thumbsup2

I am too hoping to book again if it's offered. I guess we'll find out as soon as the first DISers are down there for the beginning of free dining. Let us know!!!:woohoo:

Interesting that you could book more than one room in one name. I asked this question a while ago and was told by every person who responded that you could only book one room in your name. I also remember reading the posts during the free dining bounceback and remember that each registered guest could book one room in their name.

I would love for this to be different (because I need 2 rooms), but have to wonder how people could have had such different experiences.

Okay, I just did a search and found the old thread when people were booking free dining for 2008 in 2007. Some people were allowed to book more than one room in their name, others were not.

hmillerbarila - I noticed that your mom's friend booked through grand gatherings, I wonder if that makes a difference?

This question my have been asked before ....so I apologize in advance...but if you have an existing reservation and you are at the resort and call the Bounce Back number can they change the existing reservation to the Bounce Back rate or do you need to rebook?

In other words is the Bounce Back for new reservations only?

This may have had something to do with it. Would it be a problem booking your room in your name, and then the other room in someone else's name? She booked her room in her name, her one son & daughter in law in another, and her other son & his family in the third. The other two were obviously under their names. I think you can book up to 3 rooms with the offer in any names you choose, but one must be yours.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.;)

I can't quite figure out what you are asking. It would be a different ressie since you're applying a new code--but it would be just the same except for the bounceback promo. This is harder to answer than I thought!

You would re-book your reservation with the bounceback. If there is availability at the resort you want with bounceback, they should just be able to apply the code. :goodvibes But wouldn't getting a new ressie with bounceback be the exact same thing?

Now I'm confused. Can anyone else explain it better?

That's actually what I want to do, as does the OP. Last year, some people were told they could only book one room per person registered in their room at that time. I am going this year with a friend, and next year with my brother and his family. If bounceback is offered, I would like to get a room for DH and I and one for my brother's family either in my name, or preferably in his.

figarofan,

I understand what you are asking but don't have an answer for you. Usually you get get the discount applied if the same room you have is available at the discount....so, you should be able to apply the bounceback promotion. Are you already booked for 2009?

Whew! Glad ya got what I was trying to say. My reservation is actually for late fall 2008, but I have a short trip coming up and will be on property in a few days. So I thought, that if I was fortunate to get the bounceback I would like to apply it to my current reservations as I have a split stay at the WL and Poly. Canceling and rebooking (starting fresh) puts a big hit on my CC.

Thank you so much for your help. And sorry to hijack the 2009 thread with a 2008 question. ;)

I have read that they are offering bounceback promotions right now that are for room discounts later this year. Hopefully you'll be able to get one applied to your reservation later this fall.

These are the bounceback dates for 2008, so I would imagine that 2009's would be pretty close to the same dates:

1/6-2/2/08, 2/24-3/1/08, 3/30-4/12/08, and 8/10-9/27/08.

These dates were taken from my Bounceback flyer when we went in December. I still have the flyer with me and keep it for reference.

I suppose the same offer will be in the resort rooms for awhile...this is off the Bounceback brochure offer that was in our room last week, 5/19-5/26:

40% off Del. Villa Resort- 8/10-9/27/2008, 10/19-11/01/08, 11/9-11/15/08 and 11/30-12/13/2008. Offer excludes 3 br grand villas.

30% off select deluxe-same dates

30% of select moderate resorts-same dates.

This is off the actual little flyer--it's a round gold-colored card, shaped like a big pocket watch...I guess to imply it's limited time offer or something.

(I brought the actual offer home) You had to call before check out, of course. We're not doing any of these offers, cuz we're already booked for a value resort during Free dining (which worked out cheaper than doing a % off deal during the same time.)

We would do one of these % off deals had we been traveling during those times instead.

The free dining bounceback offers are just for the free dining time frame...August-September: there are no other free dining offer times other than that. The in-room bounceback offers which are only for the % off specific resorts have more options on travel times, but no free dining options. Depending on which resorts you're willing to stay at, free dining may or may not be the better deal. (For example, if you "must" stay at a deluxe resort, the % discount is usually worth more than the free dining. However, if you're o.k. with staying in a value resort, the free dining is typically a better savings...you just have to do the math!)

Thank you all for the great information.

Now one last question (and sorry if it has been asked a zillion times before.

If I book one resort on bounceback can I later change it to another resort? Say I book the Poly and then decide to change it to the Wilderness Lodge is that allowed?

I am just so excited of thinking I might get in on the bounceback that I all of a sudden am swimming in a pool of questions.

Yes. You can change to any other resort as long as there is availability. There are rooms specifically earmarked for bounceback offers. It stipulates this at the bottom of the bounceback offer.
