I was attempting to look at 2008 package prices for Wilderness Lodge and Disney is showing only two room types for December 2008.

Courtyard View Bunk Bed & Standard Room - Club Level

Has there been a change for 2008 regarding Wilderness Lodge room types?

It's hard to believe that all the other room types are already sold out for that time period.... but maybe that's the case since the other room types are available in August...

I get the impression that the WL is the top choice for resorts in December, due to it's Christmas ambience.

Hi:

I tend to agree with that. We are going this December, 1st thru the 8th, but we did not book our four Courtyard rooms for this year till past February.

I would call and check availability. The website is highly unreliable at times and with all the pricing changes going on right now, it very well could be wrong. However, WL is very popular at Christmas time so there is a possibility the rooms are gone. But I would call to be sure. Also, keep calling as people change their reservations all the time.

Rumor has it that these are the only two categories that have been released so far, and that more availability will happen in the near future.

I called yesterday to see if there was anything else available and there wasn't. However the CM I spoke to said that not everything was released yet, so try back every couple of days. I'm gonna go ahead and book the courtyard bunkbeds just so we have a room and then I will change when more stuff opens.

That's what happened to us when we made our reservations last year for this upcoming Thanksgiving. They told us only courtyard bunkbed rooms and standard view were available. So we booked the standard and waited for a courtyard view without bunkbeds to become available which it did. If it wouldn't have we would have just kept the standard room because there is only two of us and we didn't want to take a bunkbed room away from someone who may have really needed or wanted it.

That's the exact same issues I ran into. This will be an adults-only trip, and we ended up having to book a bunk-bed room. I wanted a courtyard view with a king bed. Not only am I paying $200 more for them, I don't need them, and hate to take up a room like that, that I don't need/want.

I'll keep my eyes open, and hopefully make someone down the road very happy, when they're able to get a formerly sold-out category of room!

I was told by several CMs that the standard view rooms are very limited and sell out first. That's why I went ahead and booked a room only standard view room even before the 2008 rates came out. I called, yesterday, to switch the room only over to a package.

I just got back from the WL and had a "Woods View" room (3116). I would check with them to see is woods view is even going to exist anymore since our room faced the new villas and NOT the woods!!!
