2008 reservations/planning to soon?

Okay, visited the WORLD Dec. 2005, 7 months ago, and we are know looking ahead to our next Disney Vacation in 2008!!!

I’ve got some questions:
Is it to early to make a room only reservation?
Are the prices locked?
What kind of reservations are available to make now for 2008!!!


Looking to see the World in October 2008 and enjoy MHHSP for the first time!!

Not much help, but we are planning our honeymoon to Orlando/Disney for January 2008. We aren't booking anything yet though; just gathering all the information we can. I, too, was wondering when we should start booking.

Hummm......good question. Hope someone has more answers for you, but it seams to me like it may be a little early to book yet since 2007 prices are not out yet.

I'm already looking into a disney cruise for July 2009. It's never to early to start dreaming, now I just have to save my money, and wait for Disney's website to let me book it!

We are also looking into a Disney Cruise For New Years Eve 2008 into 2009. Your absolutely right, it's never too soon to dream.

We are planning on going during April school vacation week of 2008. It looks like it may be April 12th, but I will know for sure when we get the school calendar in February.

Who knows when rates will be out since they aren't out for 2007 yet, but that is okay. I will still book the week and then modify it as needed.

I have $98 balance on my Disney rewards card that I have to use before they expire at the end of December and I want to use that for a deposit. If I have to I will just book another date and then modify it. A CM told me they only book out 499 days.

Yeah, I don't think you can book your room until they announce the rates for that year, and 2007 isn't even out as far as I know. Honestly I am surprised that they don't have them out at least 180 days before January since that is how early you can start booking ADRs. I know when I booked them, they asked where I was staying. Either way, I am already planning my trip for fall of 2007 in my head so it is never too early to start PLANing, maybe just not booking. =)

We're planning a trip for April 2009. We were there last month. From what I understand, you can't book until you are 500 days out.

Happy planning everyone! It helps make the time go by much faster, IMO. I've already subscribed to TGM, even though it is too early to do much in the way of real planning.

We were just there last July (2005) and are planning for August 2008. This will be a great one as it will be for my daughters H.S. graduation and it will be the first "FULL" family trip ever.....You see I have a older daughter and her and her husband are expecting this November, TWINS, and in August of 2008 they will be 18 mon. old....Now, we took the two girls for their first trip to Disney when they were 18 mo so it is going to be a good time. It's never to early to "Wish" and plan for your Disney trip.

You can't make a room only reservation until you are within 500 days of your arrival date. So at the moment you can only make reservations up until Dec of 2007.
If you make the reservations at the earliest possible time, you will pay a deposit based on the current room prices and the price will be adjusted when the official rates for your time period come out.
Others have mentioned making cruise reservations for 2008. These usually are available further in advance than the hotel reservations, cruise lines just work that way.
At the moment you can't make any resort reservation for 2008, need to wait a bit.
