2008 Reservations/Disney California hotels?

Does anyone know when the 2008 Point Chart will be released for the Disneyland California Hotels? This is the first time I am trying to book a trip to California and I'm a little confused. My 2007/2008 Vacation Planner book says you can make reservations for the Disneyland Hotels at the 11th month window, but when I called MS, they told me that they weren't allowed to make reservations for anytime in 2008 yet and I would just have to keep calling back to check. Has anyone experienced this is the past? Since I am looking for prime end of June time, I'm concerned that there may not be any availability by the time they release the point chart? Does anyone know in what month the point chart for the following year is normally released? Do you think I will have a problem getting into one of the Disneyland Hotels for that time frame? There are no new point charts out because there are also no prices out for cash rooms. I thought I could book online from the WDW website (and then cancel when points came out), but you can't book beyond 2007. There is already a thread about this here in the "planning" forum with a bunch of us in the same boat. I suggest suscribing to it as someone will update it when it's finally available. Until that happens, I've been logging in to the DVC member website and checking the vacation point chart page.

I just made a WDW ressie today and the CM said that Disneyland is now open for booking through all or part of January 2008. She said they release them in 3 month intervals, and I thought she said to check back in a couple of weeks. I wonder if there will be a delay because of the Magic being on the west coast next summer. It can't be too far away because my TA sent an email saying they had land packages to go with the cruises and that was about a week ago. I hope they don't fill up because I would like to use points to stay before we go on the eastbound Panama Canal cruise!

I'm confused about the 3 month intervals MS told you. Once they release the 2008 point chart, shouldn't we be able to book a vacation for anytime throughout 2008? Maybe the 3-month interval is for cash ressies not points?

I don't think it was for cash because I wanted to use my points. When we first looked into buying in the middle of August of 2006, the point chart for Disneyland for 2007 wasn't out yet. For some reason, it comes out very late. I am hoping that they post it soon, and yes, maybe when the point chart is out, they will open the whole year. I don't know....just what she told me and I am still fairly new at this. Does anyone that went on the Magic when it was on the west coast the last time have any experience with this?
