Here is a small representation of the 2008 Philadelphia Flower Show, a very popular & well known week long event held every March. This year the theme is a musical "Jazz It Up", with a Mardi Gras feel. I hope you enjoy the photos.

Beautiful! TFS! This will save me having to actually Go to the Flower show with 8 zillion other people. I much prefer it this way!! :thumbsup2

Here are 2 of the 6 dioramas. They are only about 1-1/2 to 2 feet across, deep & high. It's amazing how tiny but finely detailed the minatures are. Except for the backgroud painting in the 3rd, all of the plants are real.

This is a closeup of one of the 2 rooms in the photo above.

This is a waterfall & pond, real water running down!

I've heard they practically give stuff away on the last Sunday, I'm supposing they mean the live plant vendors. Don't know if it's true. When you post your photos, let me know if you see that if you happen to stop by the vendors booths. I may decide to go on Sunday next year instead if that's the case.

Looking forward to your photos. It's nice to see other's views on the same subject matter. Have fun there.

I think it's neat how many different photos come out of the show...

Your diarama shots are really cool, close enough to show how much details goes into them...we never got close to those - my husband had surgery on both elbows and getting in that close to the crowd proved to be quite painful.

While I was taking photos, the woman who had done the little outdoor scene with the waterfall was there. She asked me if I'd want her to remove the plexiglass to get better shots. Makes a big difference not getting reflections & flash glare. I told her what a great job she did.

They really do slash the prices on that last Sunday! I didn't buy anything but many plants were marked down 50% or more. Also, since the St. Patty's day parade was going on the same day, the Flower Show was deserted while we were there (around 9:30a-1p).
i have an old canon digital camera, and the flash died on me before i even got through the convention center door :headache: so i wasn't too happy with most of my pictures. here are a few that i liked.
