Has anyone got a 2008 Impala, how do you like it? Need a new car before we can contemplate a long trip. The price of these it not too bad right now, that the 2009's are out.

I occasionally drive one at work. It shifts between 3 and 6 cylinders, depending on demand. It seems to be very good on fuel. It has a small tank, but that doesn't seem to be an issue.

I have purchased these for work and currently own a 2004 Impala SS. I like the 2008's and we have had no problems with them at work as far as I am aware.

We have a 2003 Impala and a 2006 Impala. The highway mileage is good. A round trip from Ottawa to Orlando and driving around for two weeks cost us $400. last January. We get about 36mpg. The 2003 is probably a better car but we have had no trouble with either one except for a noisy front end in th 2006 that no one seems able to fix. We also had a recall on the power steering. Would I buy one again? I don't know. I am frustrated with the front end noise when parking and moving slowly. They say it is nothing but it wasn't there for the first 9 months. They are a good deal financially and there is lots of room.

We just rented an SS ('09) while in Orlando in May - drove it up to Charlotte, NC for a Nascar race before our Disney vacation - great mileage and DH loved the way it rode - the SS is actually an 8 cylinder that uses 4 on highway - now he wants to buy one! (Maybe after I get tired of my Chrysler 300!).
