I like the soundtrack from Speed 2. It has songs that I listen to often like "Never give up" and "You can get it if you really want".
Oh and since we are on teen music, Raven (least I think its her) has a song "this is my time" which is very inspirational
oooh, I love her version of double dutch bus.![]()
So, I ran at lunch today. I was on my own (running buddy is off today) and ran listening to my MP3 again. LOVED it! Gotta say, it was a really good run. I felt good (slight twinge in my left calf, but nothing bad) and my breathing was good. I finished 3.57 miles in 39.22!I certainly don't expect to run like that all the time, but I kind of got into the zone with a song from The Hives (I ended up playing it 4 times to stay at the same pace.
).
I plan on running again on Friday and then some time this weekend.
It's just too bad that they aren't doing another Minnie in May '09.That would have worked out perfect for me.
Ok kim, share the secret, what song from the Hives??
If you go to the events board, it is rumored that the Minnie will change into a 1/2 with a princess theme. Dont know if it is true, but just what I have heard (well read)...........just an FYI![]()

I just completed Day 1 of Week 3 and didn't die!!!!!!!!!
Anyone want to share what tunes help them get through the rough parts
???(...ie running)
Just wanted to share my thoughts on the C25K Program now that I have finished! Today was my last run, after starting 9 weeks ago. I was following the program by time. All my running was done on a treadmill, using a 1% incline. I was using the C25K Podcasts for Running by Robert Ullreys.
My thoughts, in no particular order:
- I found the middle of the program to be the hardest. The jump to 20 minutes of straight running at Week 5 Day 3 is the most intimidating, and the most difficult. After that, I had the confidence to know I could make the times, even if I had to slow down the running.
- I commented earlier on this thread about how the program is structured when following time as opposed to distance. You need to follow one or the other, and not be concerned with how fast you run. There are anomalies in the program if you try to do both (ie. running at 10mpm, and then taking your "walking" break, also at 10mpm) Pick one or the other and stick with it. Don't concern yourself with how fast you are going in either case. Do what you can do.
- The podcasts are a really good way to keep track of the program by time. There are some errors though, so keep your eye on your watch. The week 8 program is short on the running by one minute, and the week 9 program is long on the running by one minute. I think there were some other errors in the middle of the program too, but I can't remember now. I liked the week 8 music the best out of the weeks, so I ran to that today, adding the extra minutes required.
- My total mileage (including the warmup and cool down) is well over 5K, so I'm not intimidated by the distance. I know I can finish, even if I had to walk. My plan now though is to decrease the pace, and start running the entire 5K. Then I will start increasing the pace again. I have a 5K race coming up on April 20th, so I'm getting ready for that.
I wish you all good luck on completing the program. I really enjoyed it, and it really is a good way to break up the process of getting from couch potato to runner. Don't be afraid to repeat, or to run as slowly as you need to. I know you can do it!![]()
