2008 BAN Wagon Support Group

Aroyer, you really should have spent time with your SIL and MIL, ;) it really is the nice family thing to do, ;) has nothing to do with you would have been able to go to Michaels.:rolleyes1

You are right, I should have! What was I thinking?

I went to HL and bought Paper Dolls today, but its OK because it was on my list of things that I could buy. ;) I didn't even look at any of the other scrapbook stuff. I saw at Walmart on Sunday that they had DesignStudio for $64, but I was good and resisted. Our HL now has all the new Cricut carts in, but I think I will wait to see what they will unveil at CHA before I decide if I need anymore since I alloted myself 2 new carts this year. I can't wait to play with PD when I get home. I already have a few ideas. :)

My HL FINALLY had a Paper Dolls cartridge come in today. I had that baby ordered since OCTOBER 5th. I had prepaid, so it doesn't count against my ban or my alloted carts for this year.

Have to finish up my Character Swap so I can play with this cartridge.

i had the paper dolls cart in my hand on saturday at acmoore and i wanted it soooooo bad and did NOT buy it. dh said "oh who cares, just get it if you want it that bad!" (and it was full price.) and i said "if i'm gonna fall off the wagon and buy it, i'll only do it if its on sale!" but i want it soooooo bad. maybe next time they are on sale i'll just run and pick it up. did i mention that i want it sooooooo bad?????

"if i'm gonna fall off the wagon and buy it, i'll only do it if its on sale!"

I love this! I want that cart really bad, too. I haven't gone into our HL to see if it's there. It is on my list of exemptions, but maybe it could be a Valentine's Day present.

that's it! i'll have dh get it for me for valentines day! that's a great idea.

but only if it's on sale!!!!!!!

Po3- Look on the Enabler thread.... I posted some info for you about Paper Dolls. ;)

I keep going back and forth on if I want Paper Dolls, but I won't pay full price for it either, in fact I have gotten all of my carts on sale!

Way to go not letting the wagon bump you off everyone!

I got mine for $39.97.
I prepaid when they had that coupon that did NOT exclude the Circut. That is also when I got my Expression. :)

Wellllll, I sort of hopped off but not for a big amount of money and its somewhat justified. I went to michael's because I wanted to see what they had in way of Princess pirate like things (I saw someone else's thread about the Rusty Pickle paper and I love it!) DD's 3rd birthday party is going to be a Neverland theme and I thought I would use a layout or two of the princess pirate type paper. So I went on a hunt. I didn't find any paper but I did find a couple packs of stickers that I can use for a layout I am stuck on-so not a total waste. While I was there I picked up a couple of Christmas rubons just because they were 80% off and I know I will use them (only paid like .15 each for them) and the other stickers were 40% off so I only paid .77 each for them.
Then I went to my LSS and I found some pirate paper. I only bought two pieces so I didn't totally fall off (it wasn't the RP PP paper though-she was out but is ordering more to be in next week)! (I may go back this Saturday because they are putting all their paper at 50% off for one day) Its not like I'm not going to use any of it...so do you think I'm okay? I don't have to go into timeout on the naughty map do I? If I do, is anyone else there so I don't get lonely? :rotfl:

Okay, I'm giving myself a HUGE pat on the back. My LSS is having a yard sale this weekend and I'm hoping to unload some unwanted stuff. In pulling things together, I decided it was finally time to deal with the 3 giant ziploc bags of of "stuff" that have been shamefully present in my scrap room for years. I have a decent organizational system, but there's always the odd thing that I just can't figure out where to put and ends up in those darn bags. I told myself every single thing had to find a home or go out. So now I can honestly say that everything is in its place!

It's truly amazing what a collector I have been. First of all, I had stickers that I got in high school! (over 10 years ago) Finally time to let those go if I haven't used them by now. Then I found these zipper pull things with the years 2000-2003 on them. :sad2: I finally went and put them on the outside of their respective albums. There's so much other stuff that I've long since scrapped the topics for, but didn't remember I had the embellishments for. No more of that!

I've got a ton of stuff ready for the yard sale too. Whatever we sell we get as store credit, so that will help the ban. I haven't spent a dime on scrapping (except for the cost of a crop) since the start of the year, so I'm doing good so far!

I'm in danger of slipping! An online store here has a "interest list" for the Big Bite! But its not coming til March and I'll have my birthday money by then.

Slight stumble! Ordered myself the HOTP stitches template - but its cheaper than the stitch-type tape runner and you all gave it bad reviews so I saved by not buying that first then getting the template anyway. Does that mean I haven't actually spent any money?:confused3 :lmao:
And I added in a big bag of cards to make it worth the £2.95 postage- but I'll need them for the card swaps anyway, and it was £10 for 50 nice sized cards (big enough to take a photo plus embellishments if I want to for Christmas or something) AND I didn't get any special offers - does that mean I'm fairly good really?:rolleyes1

I am super proud of myself so far. Most of what I bought has been for organizing, and now that 95% of my stuff is organized I have almost met my goal of 31 pages for the month! I should have that done tonight or this weekend. YAY!!!

Keep going everyone!!! We are doing so well!

Mazda - I don't think it was a stumble. I think it was a very well thought out purchase. You looked at an item initially that you chose not to buy as it apparently didn't work well and it was a consumable so you would have to keep replacing it. Instead, you bought a tool that would help you to recreate your desired effect over and over so it was a smart purchase. Plus, I don't think that you should be penalized for having to purchase another item to make shipping minimums when you have to do all of your shopping online. AND your extra item is something you will need and use so you were just being proactive. GREAT JOB!!!

BAMB - Good for you on your organizing! Your good habits have even rubbed off on me! Just the small bit I have done - ribbon, fiber and brads in sorter boxes and embellies in plastic folders - has made a huge difference. I'm trying to figure out what to do about paper now but I totally agree that it has inspired me to get more done. I think I'm actually going to make my page goal for the month and I couldn't be more thrilled about it. So, good for you and thanks for being my catalyst, too!

I bought three last weekend and used them for ribbon, fiber and Primas. In fact, I didn't get any pages done because I wound ribbon and fiber for 8 hours and organized my other embellies. I also found this cute soft-sided lunch box looking bag that comes with multiple trays. I used it to sort all of my brads, eyelets, snaps and buttons by color and I used the ones without dividers to hold my packages of generic adhesive embellies (like bling flowers, etc). The bag has huge pockets so I can fit in my bottle caps, slide frames, embellished paper clips etc. as well. It is literally my embellie drawers in a bag!

Now all I have to do is organize my paper. I'm thinking one Iris cart to take the place of the little bookshelf I currently have that is practically useless and one of those Iris trash can things you mentioned to set on top to hold my sorted cardstock. I think my current challenge is that I scrap out of my bags and my area is not organized in a manner that I can easily reach everything. I'm hoping I can resolve that by getting rid of the practically useless bookshelf and replace it with useful storage.

I think the iris can will help though, because it has a handle. If you don't want to break from taking your cardstock with you, you can just pop the top on and go.
