Does anyone know if the 2008 AAA discount applies to the ASMU family suites or what the discount would be? Has anyone gotten a quote? We are considering a February trip. Thanks for your help!:)

I was wondering the same thing. We're planning on going next August, prob the first week of August.

I just received a quote from AAA for a family suite here at this resort in late Feb that was equal to the price if I were to book through disney. I just thought they couldn't get it on the suites. I also had them get a quote for 2 rooms, and it was only about 5% cheaper for the package through them than through disney. I'm starting to wonder if the person I spoke with saw the correct prices.

Approximately what are the Family suites going for? - Also how do you find them online to book them? All I can see are the standard and preferred rooms. I like being able to make the payments online to Disney as I have the funds.

You have to select ASMusic and then you can choose STD, PREF or family suites. For value season they were $184 for 2008. This is what I had booked, but then just changed so I know that rate is correct.

I just called CRO today and asked for a AAA discount on the Family Suites and was told they were not allowed :sad2:

I hope she was wrong! I'll keep looking here to see if anyone gets luck with a AAA discount on a suite.

Good luck everybody!

You should try back again. I got a 20% AAA discount for Feb 8 - 13 (value season), and a 10% AAA discount for Feb 14th (President's Day Weekend). Good luck!

I just recieved a AAA quote for the family suites for june 7-14 and it was actually $100 more than what Disney quoted me. My agent didn't give any explanation so I don't know if that is because they can't get a discount on the family suites or not.

Someone asked about rates--my rate is $250/night.

I was told by a AAA agent today that there is no discount on the Family Suites. Now I'm wondering if she knows what she's talking about since others have said they got one. I might try calling another office tomorrow to see what I can find out.

Hello,

Glad to see someone else from WI !! We have gone the last week in Jan before, and are doing it again in 08.

The best thing was when we were there, it was 5 below zero here, with a wind chill of -20.

Anyhow.. didn't have much to say about the AAA, as we don't usually use them. We are waiting for the CODES to come out.
(I'd say patiently, but I'd be lying.)

Looking on the aaa site now, It shows a nightly rate of 243. This is actually a 10% savings off the disney saturday night rate of 270. If I change the dates to starting the 8th, it tells me the nightly rate is 225, or 10% off Disney's 250 rate. So on the internet site it shows a 10% discount available, wich should amount to about a 232 savings. I cant get to a final screen on aaa site showing the whole price. I wonder if they could be quoting the entire thing at the weekend rate. That would make about a 100 difference.

Where do you find the rates on the AAA website? I've looked but I can't find anything that gives quotes on the Disney owned hotels it only gives offsite.

I just booked a family suite at All-Star Music with AAA for 8/2/08-8/9/08, it was $280 cheaper than my quote directly from Disney. And yes, there are AAA discounts for the family suite. The AAA agent was surprised, as was the Disney person she spoke with...but according to the Disney person she spoke with, there are a "limited" number of AAA discounts available for the suites...guess I got lucky. Pays to plan ahead!

i just spoke with my TA again. Her quote was the same as what Disney is quoting. She told me that the AAA exclusive discount (whatever that is:confused3 ) is not available on the Family Suites, just the standard AAA discount.

OK, then why am I getting the same rate through her as I am through Disney. I'm waiting on her response now.

Just talked to my TA again and she told me that "Matthew" from Disney told her that they have removed the discounts on family suites due to demand. Therefore, her price is the same as my price through disney. She actually said that he told her that a trundle suite at POR would be cheaper than the Family Suite.

The 'trundle suite' she is referring too is a regular room that is listed with an occupancy max of 5 (+ one in a crib) that has a trundle bed.

I was actually on the aaa site looking up dates and rates but didn't follow through for a booking. The discounts are there. However I can not pull up package pricing that way. The 'aaa exclusive' may refer to the fact that packages utilizing a aaa discount can only be booked through aaa where as room only reservations utilizing a aaa discount can be booked by anyone. So maybe the aaa discount on suites is nolonger available in a package?

It does because my agent gave me a pkg quote for the suites today. :)

Well darn it. I called my TA back to book and she confirmed that Disney has taken the discount off the family suites. She seems to think it's connected to certain dates. She booked 2 other pkgs this AM in August and they have the discount. I am going in January.
