2008, 24th/28th Aug - *Double Dipping with the Bahama Mamas* (Part 2)

I think we are going to try and keep the 8/16 cruise too unless we definitely do the Baltic (?) DCL cruise in 2010 and need the $$ for that. Derek loved our Med cruise/Europe (and so did I) and can't wait to get back. I'd rather be somewhere hot on vacation too, but I guess it would be hotter in the summer months to vacation in those ports than the winter months! I guess once the official release and costs come out, it will help in our decision.

Sandy, thanks for the information.

I booked Palo brunch, Palo dinner, the jets skis at CC for Derek and Keegan and parasailing at CC for me and Keegan. Poor Brennan can't do them until he's 8 so we'll take turns playing in the sand with him. We'll have friends along on the cruise so we'll spend some time with them there too.

I love sea days too and prefer the Eastern Magic itinerary because of the extra sea day over the Western. I think we'll probably stay on the ship in Nassau again. My friend really wants to get off the ship just to say she's been there so we may walk around the local area. I'd love to take advantage of the spa deal I did this past cruise. I'd love a 7 day that just went to CC all week and would sail at night and come back each day. To me unless you go on an excursion outside of the direct port area, all of the ports are alike on the Eastern, Western and Nassau. They all tend to have the exact same shops.

My only concern with the changes of the days is if DCL changes our ressies according to the location and not the day. I booked Palo the 3rd night, which will be our 2nd night at Parrot Cay anc CC day if you go by the usual 4 night itinerary. If they change CC to the last day, that would be our only night in Tritons and we don't want to miss it since this is our friends first cruise. I'd rather them keep my Palo dinner on the 3rd night and not CC day. Not sure if that makes sense, but I'm worried that's what they'll do.

I hope everyone has a great day!

 Yay !! We could have a Bahama Mama reunion Danielle. Though I'm trying not to think too hard about it till our flights are booked

:cheer2: Well done on getting Palo Brunch and Dinner - I love going to Palo so much, it really is a special place to eat

I hope that the changes to the itineraries doesn't effect you too much, let us know when you find out more :)

Thanks - I hope it's true. They were two of my favorites.

Mine too, though I haven't seen John Simm as The Master yet :)

Afternoon ladies, Sorry no time to do a real post..just finished reading everyone elses. Mandy, It is fine to keep the girls pics up..they are on facebook and my space as well. Hope you all are having good days. i will do an actual post this weekend..lol.

Good Morning Bahama Mama's

How are you all today ?

It is horrible over here, it has rained for days now. I think I'll stay in and chill in front of the TV ;)

Have a great day everyone :)

Good Morning Girls!

Just a quick "hi" from me! I just sent Dominic off on the bus, and Ant will be up in a few minutes.. UGHHHHHHHHHh and get this one - I am going WALKING w/the girls this morning - that's right - some sort of exercise! LOL Haven't done ANYTHING since we got home (or anything before we left to tell the truth!)

Hope you all have a great day! I'll try and catch up later, but it's another busy one - we are walking after drop off, then home to shower, running to the store w/a friend, then the eye doc at noon, then off to pick up the kids, then FINALLY I'll be home - but STILL have the piles of stuff on the bed in the spare room! But, the good news is, I did Dominic's rearrange in the drawers to put in some of the trip stuff, BUT I did take OUT some stuff that needs to be packed up - SOOOOOOOOOOOOO another pile on the bed - I never seem to get ahead over here!!

Anyway - I am off and running (as usual) - talk to you all soon!
Laurie

Good morning all!

I hope everyone has a great day! The sky is black as night here and it's raining, thundering and lightning. Ian has decided that they should cancel school:rotfl:

Mandy stay dry over there :)

Good Morning Ladies

Well all three girls are gone for school and I didn't get called in to sub so I am freeeeeeeeee:cool1: John is on vacation this week and of course has slept through the last 3 hours of everybody getting ready for school:rolleyes: One gets on the bus at 6:40, one at 7:40, and the last at 8:50.Anyhoo.....

Mandy~ I read both of your trip reports, you did a great job thanks for sharing them with us:goodvibes I forgot to tell you that Sydney has her little England bear attached to her book bag and just loves it. Thanks again to everyone for all the wonderful gifts you left for us

Laurie~ good luck on the walking:cool1: I have done NOTHING since we have been home and we went out to dinner last night and I had all you can eat crab legs.Apparently I thought it was eat until you get sick crab legs:rolleyes1
Michele~ I hope Nicole makes a speedy recovery!!It's hard getting back into the swing of things isn't it? I LOVE Ihop by the way

Danielle~ I actually looked up the August 16th cruise last night to see what it would cost. It is the same for a cat 4 as we paid for our cat. 3 this time plus I forgot that Angelina will be trying out for jv field hockey that week so it looks like a no go for us:sad1: Last night at dinner John said he does want to go again though so that is good. Before the cruise he kept saying it was the "last" disney cruise and is now open to going again so phew:worship:

Sandy~ we had the thunder and lightening all night and now it is just pouring buckets so I am afraid that is what is coming your way!!!

I really miss being on the ship:scared:

We had awful thunderstorms this morning too. About 10 minutes before Keegan's bus time, the skies opened. I drove him to the bus stop and we waited with lightning all around us. I swear it was horizontal because it was around the entire van in flashes. It was raining so hard, we couldn't see our house 4 houses away and couldn't see either end of the block. It started to hail and I said forget it, I'll drive him home and take him in myself once the storm died down. By the time we got home, his bus was there and I hadn't even seen it coming. I was truly afraid to let him ride it in that weather, especially since they have other stops on some narrow roads. We waited a good 15 minutes and then once it let up a bit I drove them both to school. Our dog was going nuts too--panting and pacing-- and peed on the floor which is always a joy to clean. Luckily we don't have carpet downstairs and the floors needed a good cleaning anyway.

I ended up working all afternoon yesterday since my boss upped the deadline by a few days for our contract spreadsheets. I usually have until the 10-11th but he said he now wants to have them all done by the 5th of each month starting next month. At least I don't have anything major to do and can wash sheets, do the floors and finish the last mini pile of putting away from our trip. It's all stuff I'm going to use in 15 years when I get around to scrapbooking this trip. I still need to finish uploading some pictures too.

My sister is going to be in Clearwater next week on vacation and a friend of hers is on business in Orlando so I got them studio at the Beach Club and some ADR's at the Captain's Grille, Yachtman Steakhouse, Boma for breakfast and Fultons for lunch the next day. My sister is so not a Disney person, so I'm really happy I may just get the chance to convert her yet! We lived in Orlando when she was in junior high/early high school and it was so uncool to do Disney at that age among her peers. She went with us on our 1st land/sea vacation in 2005 and she wanted to go to the outlets/mall shopping instead of the parks each day. She just doesn't get the magic! I think if she had kids, she might come around faster. She's an exec in loss prevention/security at Target and one of the pharmacists in the store is also a huge Disney fanatic and trying to convince her to give it another try. I think she'll LOVE the Beach Club since her idea of a great vacation is laying on the beach all day each day. She mentioned they may do Epcot and I nearly fell out of my chair. I told her since they just had the 2 days and her friend has to work half the day, I'd just stick around the resort pool and do the Boardwalk and relax. They were talking about Epcot for a half day in the afternoon so I'm not so sure they'd get on Soarin, TT and MS without long stand by lines since the FP's would be gone. I would love to fly down myself to spend a day or two with them, but Derek and I both need to watch our days off until our next trip.

Just a quick "hi" from me! I just sent Dominic off on the bus, and Ant will be up in a few minutes.. LOL Haven't done ANYTHING since we got home (or anything before we left to tell the truth!)

:yay: Way to go on the walking Laurie:yay: I'm trying to get back into my dieting, but I haven't done any exercise for months :rolleyes1

Enjoy your busy day

Good morning all!

I hope everyone has a great day! The sky is black as night here and it's raining, thundering and lightning. Ian has decided that they should cancel school:rotfl:

Mandy stay dry over there :)

You stay dry too Sandy. If school was cancelled due to rain over here, then the kids would never be at school :rotfl: :rotfl:

Have a great day :)

Hey Suz, Enjoy your free day :thumbsup2

Aww, I'm glad that Sydney likes her little England bear. I've got a bag full of FE gifts that I still need to go through ~ It's like Christmas :)

My sister is going to be in Clearwater next week on vacation and a friend of hers is on business in Orlando so I got them studio at the Beach Club and some ADR's at the Captain's Grille, Yachtman Steakhouse, Boma for breakfast and Fultons for lunch the next day. Hi Danielle, it sounds like everyone is having to put up with rain today, so I hope you stay dry too

Oooh, your sister is so lucky. I hope you manage to convert her into a Disney Addict too :rotfl2: The ADR's you have made sound great, so she should have a good time

Have a great day everyone :thumbsup2

Good Afternoon Bahama Mama's

Wow, it's quiet on here today.

I've had a nice day. I took the train to Birmingham, to look for some new clothes for my Girly Cardiff Weekend away at the end of the month. I had a nice morning, but I didn't buy anything (typical ;) )

Thanks for taking the time to read my trip reports. I've finished my last part (from the Hard Rock Hotel), so if you want to take a look, you can find it here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1948232 I'm glad that's finally finished ::yes::

What are you up to today ? Have a great day whatever you're doing :)

I'm here Mandy. Missing the Bahama Mamas terribly. Any sun for you today?

I'm here, I'm here! Just been super busy between work, friends and football.

We finally have a night off of practice tomorrow night and it figures that the boys want to go to the local high school game.

I wasn't feeling too good yesterday. All the kids have been having a germ swap at school and everyone around us is sick. I feel fine today but yesterday my stomach was doing flip flops and I ended up going to sleep at 9:00.

I came super close to booking a flight to join my sister for the day at the Beach Club next week. I could have gotten a return flight for $219 and used the Magical Express. I'd have only had to pay for the dining plan since I have an AP. I thought it was a lot for a single day and maybe her and I could go a few days another time.

The weather's been really cloudy here the last few days. With all the rain, eveyrone's grass is really green again and of course needs cut every 3 days! I had to wear a windbreaker at football last night and tonight. I'm not ready for the cold, dark evenings just yet!!

I hope you are all doing well,
Danielle

I'm still trying to finish uploading pictures onto photobucket. Looks like I'm going to have to just make a few smaller albums because I've got 1400 in it and it is constantly freezing when I try to do anything.

Anyways, I found a couple of pictures of Sarah making flubber and Kevin with Brennan on the cruise and thought I'd share. Sorry they are so big, photobucket is not allowing be to do squat with editing.

Thanks for sharing Danielle. I swear I will never wear that peach shirt again. It makes me look bigger than I am. :rotfl:

Hi All

I have been lurking, but have not had time to post. I love everyones photos.

Danielle I really appreciate to photo of Kevin and Brennan. That was the night I was blind and of course DH never thinks to bring a camera.
You can tell Brennan is your son. In that photo he looks just like you!!!

Well we all are back to our mundane lives and I guess posting is just not as much fun as previously. Although it is raining today so we do not have to run around tonight to get to baseball practice( Even Kevin was hoping it would rain as he is tired with the first full week back to school and after school activities) Maybe we will all chill with a video and popcorn after dinner.

So since I did not get much time to chat on the cruise, I can chat after the cruise and find out all the things I wanted to find out on the cruise.

I'll start with Sandy- How was the second cruise? Was zach and Cody on it?
Kayleigh told me they were supposed to be. Also from what I read I gather you work as a travel agent? Send me a PM and let me know if this is the case and who you work with or are you independent? Maybe I can use you for my next trip. Also , yu went to the Mouse Meet in Harrisburg. Is that something for a family to attend? Is there things for the kids to do? I do not think we will get the Disney next Summer, so I figured maybe we could get our Disney fix that way.

Well I have to get off now. I need to check in with my family who live about 20 miles west of Houston, before the storm hits. They have already evacuated the Nursing home my mom is in . They moved her about an hour north to Giddings TX. My niece is in the Fire Dept so she will be sticking around until after the storm, and then they will send them out after the wind goes below 50 mph. They do not want them blown around during the height of the storm (Smart Idea)

So send some pixie Dust their way.

Talk to you all soon
Mary Ellen
