Augh, I had written a big long post and it somehow totally deleted it when I pressed enter to move to a new paragraph. That hasn't happened in so long because usually I copy it just in case it doesn't post and goes to the log in. How frustrating!
I'm waiting up to midnight to be able to book Palo and excursions for our 12/7/08 Wonder cruise. We have friends coming along on their first
DCL cruise and we're going to do both brunch and dinner at Palo.
I thought we'd be less busy once the boys started school, but we haven't. We were at football from 11 this morning until after 3 PM. We were literrllly walking out the door when ADT called me to say my parent's alarm was going off and they couldn't reach them. I figured they were in church and better swing by there (a block away). I got there and they had police in the front and back yard, but it was a false alarm due to a faulty sensor. Both Brennan and Keegan's teams won. The games were totally one sided in the scoring and rather b-o-r-i-n-g. We stopped at a Bonanza and if you haven't been to one, I'd skip it. Not quite the Beach Blanket Buffet.
I've been helping out my friend Tianna, whose husband was paralyzed last Sunday in a motorcycle crash. They have both hit rock bottom emotionally and are having a tough time. They were so optimistic right after the crash, but I think they were in shock and just grateful he was alive. I feel so badly for Mike's parents as his sister has MS and is totally bedridden.
I'm helping Tianna out with watching her 2 year olds in the morning so she can go be with Mike in the rehab hospitall until her daycare gets sorted out. He's a police officer and the Fraternal Order of Police is going to start paying for daycare for the twins so she can be with Mike each day.
As for cruising in 2010, we will definitely be going on one, not sure when or where. We have a 4 day Wonder scheduled for 8/16/09 and a 7 day Eastern Magic cruise on 12/5/09 with Derek's extended family. I've been reading the Dis thread on possible itinerary and it looks like someone found a page from a port in Norway saying that the Magic will be in Oslo every 12 days. They are quite set it will be a Baltic cruise that summer. When we were on the Med cruise, the Captain Tom of the Magic said he'd like to do a Baltic cruise (I think he's from Norway or Sweden). Some Disers that have been sleuthing think it will be based in England and go to Oslo, Coppenhagen, Hamburg, St. Petersburg and possibly Estonia. I would love to go back to Europe on the Magic. It was our best DCL cruise yet. The only downside is the airfare, which is almost as much as the cruise there.
It rained here all day yesterday. The news said we got 3 inches. We have only a 6 year old house we had built and the rain actually came in the dining room window from the corners, dripping on the wood floor in a big puddle before I noticed. We have stone outside the window from top to bottom and I think the little fancy white thing above it needs replaced. We have to have our insurance company come out and look at it because the window company said it was not a window issue, but an installation problem. Our builder won't stand by it without a lawsuit.
Sandy/Michele, I'm sorry to hear both of your daughters were sick and glad they are on the mend.
Michele, good luck with Ihop
Mandy, I'll have to check your TR, thanks for the link. I'm still trying to upload all my pictures. I've frozen my photobucket account from uploading over 1400 pictures in one album. I'm going to have to do another album to finish the rest. I vow not to print any more out until I get the 900 I printed from the Med cruise in albums.
Laurie, you are welcome for the pictures. I have a couple of Anthony and Brennan at CC and you and Anthony I'll send tomorrow sometime.
Veronica, I'm glad Bryan's enjoying 1st grade. Have a great trip to Florida. I wish my boys had some kind of vacation other than Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. They don't even get half days or election days or any other days off. When we lived in Maryland they had a day off each week for about all of September and October for different religious observations and teacher days.
Suzanne, any headway on a 2009 cruise or DVC? Like I said before, it took us a good 2 years of thinking about it before we joined. We love it though.
Mary Ellen, I'm sorry to hear about your eye. When Keegan was 1 he had a hat on and was on my hip and turned his head so fast, the rim scratched my cornea and I had to go to the ER. It was not a fun experience so I can empathize. That's awesome you got a dream on the cruise!
Sandra, let us know what you decide for 2010. It would be nice to do a reunion cruise!
Heather, great wedding pictures.
Jen, I'm sorry work's been crazy for you. I hope the fire's have been put out. My friend lives in San Diego and emailed me a picture last year of fires near her house and it looked like what you envision hell would look like. Scary stuff.
Diane, I hope your foot's feeling better. Let us know how things work out with home schooling and Becca's gymnastics.
I hope everyone else is doing great!
