2008/2009 Swap Calendar updated to pg 23

I've got the Animal Kingdom swap coming up in June. I don't think it'll be a big swap so I can add some character groups to it for newbies if that'll work.

I have read all the rules and suggestions stickied at the top of this board, but I am still not understanding how this works. I would love to take part of something like this but I would need a little help..anyone willing to help a newbie??

The quick version is:

Look for a swap just opening/accepting sign-ups which is open to newbies (this calendar has sign-up dates)

Post on the board which group(s) you want to join (generally a limit of one or two for your 1st swap)

read the requirements carefully

Once sign-ups are closed (so you know how many you need to make) start making

Post in time for the hostess to receive them by the due date

Wait (im)patiently

Get stuff back

This is card candy, basically, 4-6 embellishments to use on cards. We could do categories such as b-day, holidays, etc., and/or paper lines (we'll have Basic Grey left over from the Color swap ).

Or, I'm happy to do full cards too. Either way, I'm easy.

Here are some samples of what I'm talking about. I did the first set, the rest are all examples from Splitcoaststampers:

We could come up with some categories and do groups of 4 or 5? (Adult Birthday - 2 men and 2 women; Kid Birthday - 2 girls and 2 boys, Halloween, Christmas, etc.)

I was just thinking to myself today that I need to pick dates for the Disney Cruise swap! How about if we do signups next Wednesday, June 10th? Or I could do them this weekend if people prefer. I'll probably set it up very similar to last year's swap with both elements and page groups.

Yay! I'll have my DCL coloring book and my SCAL ready to go! What time of day are you planning on posting, because I may need a swap buddy if it early your time. I almost missed out last time because I was up later than everyone else. In that case, I guess I'll just have to keep my characters in their cruise clothes to myself.

Whenever, just let us know the day and time at least 24 hours in advance! Now that we're going on a cruise (albeit in 2010), I can join it!
