Ok got it Stacey! LOL! I am actually in the first pic on that page I was so nervous before the minnie, I don't remember who I met. One telltale sign that it is me, I always wear my hair in braid and it is really thick (it looks like a rope). Less than 2 weeks, can you believe it??? I cannot wait to get my little hands on that medal!

We leave for WDW one week from today. I am so excited. Ever since Anne (Maherae) showed us the medal at the WISH meet in January I knew I had to have it. I will be wearing my WISH shirt and hat. I should be easy to spot. I am looking forward to the race because my DDs will be there and I will have a scream team. This is the first race that they will see me in. The other races DH and I have gone to without the kids. I hope I make them proud.

Matt- Can't wait to see you and Cheryl again! Great job on the tri! Sorry to hear that you might be deployed before ToT.

HELLO EVERYONE

Well I have good news and I have bad news.

The bad news is:

I will not be able to participate in RFTT this year. This race has very sentimental meaning to me as it is the first race that DH -Bobby and I ever did exactly a year a go and I can still remember the nervousness and excitement.

It turns out that I have a herniated disc that is crushing a lot of nerves in my lower back and my pain is getting progressively worse every day. Last week I barely made it around the zoo for the day with my kids.

I am scheduled for surgery NOV 14 since I have been dealing with it since April and nothing is working.

OK -- so for the GOOD NEWS !!

DH and a good friend of ours are going to run it so I will be there to cheer you guys on.

I am jealous that I will not get the cool medal this year but I am just glad we are still going. The food and wine festival has become a traditional yearly - adult weekend away for us.

I will just have to find a lot of benches that day while we are walking around to keep the pain manageable.

I can't wait to cheer everyone on!!

We're also like you - F&W is starting to become an annual quick getaway for my DH and myself. We'll be arriving on Saturday and leaving Tuesday morning.

I'm a tad nervous about my first race.

Thought I'd bump this up, we're all still running right?!?

I actually changed my plans for Sat 10/6 to the Public Family Fitness weekend Tri down at Cypress Gardens a quick 20 min drive or so from WDW, because they're giving free admission to Cypress Gardens for the day for all racers, and the swim and run courses are actually within the theme park! We're staying with friends in Lakeland for Fri and Sat nights to save money. It's a 1/2 mile swim, 12 mile bike, and 5k run for those interested, or you can skip the swim and do a 2 mile run instead. Sprint distance, very short as triathlons go. We've never been there, so the plan is to race that at 7am on Sat, spend the day there then head over to the expo for RFTT, then do RFTT 7am Sunday, and use our packaged theme park tickets to go to Epcot for the rest of the day.

Now for the begging... Anyone staying pretty close to Epcot with the intention of showering immediately post-race then heading back into the park? We wouldn't mind stealing a shower/ride...

Waaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!!! I can't BELIEVE I didn't find this thread until today! I thought I was reading everything about RFTT that I could get my hands on!

DH and I are leaving on Thursday for WDW and staying until Monday at CBR. This will be our first race together. I ran my first race ever (a 5K in 29:07) at our Great Land Run here in Oklahoma about 3 weeks ago. I did that one by myself 'cause DH was working.

I'm kicking myself for not getting us WISH shirts!! I had no idea someone was doing that! I googled around looking for Disney race shirts but couldn't find any. Maybe I'll try and find a lime green racing shirt tomorrow at the sports store.

Can't wait! I'm not fast but I think I can comfortably run the 10K in under 1:10 considering we'll be at Party for the Senses on Saturday night. So, I'm thinking we'll both be a little sluggish on Sunday morning.

Anyone else staying at CBR? Anyone doing any of the F&W events? We're scheduled for an Exquisite Evening, cheese tasting, wine/food pairing, Party for the Senses, cook/book/bottle, and Sweet Sunday. Can you tell this is our first trip to F&W? We're total foodies!

I'm getting nervous!!! This is my first 10K...and my first big race. I ran a 5K last year in the snow/rain/sleet and was just happy that I didn't freeze to death.

BTW...anybody else running all alone?!

I had a blast at my first race ever! I made it towards the end, but hey I made it and got my medal and thats all that I cared about finishing even if I was last! My friends, DH and I went to AK after and had fun but by around 4pm we were about pass out we were all so tired! But overall it was fun and now I cant wait for TOT!
