2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

sounds like fun, who is going to be there early??? Krispy Kreme's and Diet Pepsi!!!!

We should be there fairly early as we are following the same plan as in 2005. Mass at Mary Queen of the Universe, then breakfast at McDonalds and over to the port.

alright.....party in the parking lot..............

Can we bring drinks into the terminal? I don't go any where with out cold water or a diet pepsi. I can't remember if I took my sports bottle with me. SInce it has to go through x ray I am thinking no.

You sure can as long as you can cap it. If you are going to do diet pepsi I would say make sure it is a bottle you can cap as it will still have to go through the x-ray. We've carried on some sweet tea from publix. :)

Mary & Mark,
You guys are too good going to mass on vacation. What time is mass? I don't think I can get dh up that early. We are Saturday nighters so we(he) don't(doesn't) have to get up and dressed on Sunday.

Mass is at 7:30 I believe. If you have never been to Mary Queen of the Universe it is a beautiful church. It is a shrine actually not a parish and was designed for the visitors to the area (it is run by the people who used to do Mass at the Polynesian). http://www.maryqueenoftheuniverse.org/

It is not that far from Downtown Disney. About a block away is the McDonalds that is really nice with a beautiful sculpture of sea turtles inside.

Funny story - in 2005 we did Mass and then the McDonalds. Mark saw someone inside wearing a DCL shirt. He was convinced they were going on the cruise with us. I was convinced they had just gotten off the repo cruise (which came back that Saturday before we sailed). Sure enough when we were in the vendor parking lot who do we see but that same couple. They were sailing with us. I don't know if they were DISers at the time but I remember them posting after that about the experience. :rotfl:

I am trying to mapquest our trip. Does any one know the street address of Saratoga Springs and the Beach club?

Do you have your confirmation paperwork? That will have the address on it.

oh, I will have to look, Thanks.

Well I have to go pick up dh at the airport, he has been in DC all week. I have enjoyed my empty house. I through away a whole bunch of junk this week. It will be interesting to see if he notices. Who needs 20 year old reader digest, national geographic and this old house? I had every vase and tin box flowers & cookies have come in. Well it's all gone. When DH was in the Airforce we cleared out every three years, so now I have 13 years of junk. So it's downsizing time........

Have a great day!!!!!!!

Have a great day Joanne! We need to do some major cleaning of clutter here as well.

We do a map book for our road trip every year. Maps to our stops (hotels going and coming) as well as lists of things like Sonic and Chik-fili-a. Places we don't get to go to up here. Of course we have a slightly longer trip than you do. :)

We generally get to the port by 9 a.m. so we can be first in line! We have been pretty successful. The terminal opens at 10 a.m. for check in. And usually we can start getting on the ship somewhere between 11:45 and noon, depending on when the ship is ready for us. Of course, DVC will be on by about 4 a.m. as soon as the ship comes in because they have to start getting all our gifts ready and delivered to our staterooms!

Good morning Member Cruisers!

We sail in 5 weeks!

Unfortunately i will not be going to the parking lot party.I will be coming via the DCL bus which gets to port around 1pm.My last cruise we stood around way to long so getting to port early im not going to do.I would rather check-in and board.

32 days to Disney

We can be there early in the parking lot as we are staying near the port on Saturday night. I am sure I will be too excited to sleep AND will hardly be able to contain myself. 35 more days :) :)

Will let everyone know what transpired while I was away

So Kay what were you able to find out...who is going to be our captain, cruise director, and asst. cruise director?

For sure - Our Captain: Captain John

Our Assistant, I am pretty sure, will be Ian

DJ/Hollywood is on Holiday now and not sure if he will be onboard with us.

There are 3 managers in merchandise right now and they are moving from one ship to another right now.

EVERYONE in the shows are new CM's. I saw Hercules, Golden Mickeys and Dreams. They have added new things to it, such as, jokes and monologues at the beginning of the shows.

Actually it is pretty funny. Christiaan (the current cruise director) is hilarious.

NOTHING at all about DVC and the Member Cruise. All mouths were zippered shut.

I was told that the banking system would be changed but Joan did not tell me how - the change will be available to everyone shortly. (that tells me a whole lot - Duh!!!)

The whole ship in each area is being changed and people are moving and going on Holiday like the plague.

They are moving people around and training so that when the new ships are ready, everyone will move from one place to the other w/o having to be trained at that time.

Guess we just have to go with the flow until everything settles down.

All in all, the cruise was wonderful. Didn't go by fast at all.

I tried to find out a whole lot, but not too much came to light that we don't already know.

Everytime something was said in the Castaway Club meeting about the new ships or other information, there was a joke about it would be posted on the DIS. Everyone would clap and holler at that.

THEY ARE ON TO US FOLKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:lmao:

So Kay what were you able to find out...who is going to be our captain, cruise director, and asst. cruise director?
