2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

Hi everyone,
havent posted for some time ,look forward to the meet at the beach club on saturday 3pm.

We are staying at OKW for over a week before the cruise so anyone who wants to meet up before we will be there.

Hi Linda ,(I wish I had your job you always seem to be on vacation)

As most of you know we are from London England.So far we have had the worst summer rainfall in over 200 years,the weather has been terrible also lots of flooding.Luckily not where we live.

We have our new Prime Minister Gorden Brown,a most miserable,dour scotsman (who met up with George Bush this week).
Some people say that the weather has been so bad to go along with his moods.

I will look into checking in Online.
If I do that, do we still need any documents or tickets or is it unnecessary.
Also I looked at my booking and notice that they show my wifes year of birth as 2007,do I need to get Member Services to change this.

I will be posting more often if I get the time

Good morning all,

Does anyone have a copy of the room service menu? I would like to peruse it for a little advanced planning. Also, what is the cutoff time at night to have coffee delivered in the morning? DH & I just couldn't get it together last year to have room service coffee. We want to take advantage of this great service this year.

The previews are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The Grand Opening is Saturday and I hear the Big Cheese himself will be there.

There were some people on our cruise that were looking into adding on to their DVC points that are about 4 hours from Chicago. They decided to hold off until this week, because DVC on the ship told them the grand opening add-on deals would be too great to pass up for those attending. So they are heading to Chicago this week sometime!

Have fun! Wish I could go. But I've got to work so I can go on another vacation!!!

Made some dining ressies this am. Bomba Saturday after our meet and Sunday the 28th Chef Mickey's before we drive home.

I think they give you something to hang on your door if you want morning room service. You tell them what time.

Yes, you hang it from your door. We ordered room service alot in the morning on the Med. cruise as we had early excursions every day. They've got juices, coffee, tea, bagels, pastries, and assorted cereals if I remember right. You tell them when you want it delivered, they give you 1/2 hour increments of time. They were prompt in delivering.

Room Service---a mickey bar and some chocolate chip cookies would taste good right now!!!!! Much better than the fruit & salad I had for lunch.

Woo hoo! Was able to add 2 out of 3 nights for a studio at OKW after the cruise. Couldn't get the 25th but am on the waitlist. Not to bad for 12 weeks out.

I have to lose a few pounds before October.....
so that I can gain it all back on the cruise at the ice cream station!!!!
This way at the end of October, I will break even!

You will need to print some stuff off when you check in online, sign it, and bring it with you. You also need to complete the Bahamas immigration card and bring that as well.

We got an email today about the Doorway to Dreams. It looks like fun, but of course I will be working. I am going to enter the sweepstakes though. I would live to stay in the Cinderlla Suite!!!

The best time for us to order room service on the cruise is late afternoon. Usually after we get back from the island. We have late seating dinner, so an afternoon snack of cookies and fruit, is wonderful.

Back from Doorway to Dreams. If you are looking at adding on I think the incentives would be worth coming for. If not I wouldn't make the trip just to see the models. Did see a number of familiar faces from past member cruises. Couldn't get them to reveal any upcoming secrets but I did ask them to please update the website as we are all getting anxious.

I know you haven't seen the AK models in person, but are the models in Chi similar to the ones at WDW from what you can tell?

We are not adding on this year.

I cannot wait for October. I sold a fridge to a family on Sunday that is on the Wonder the week before we are. She is new to the boards and her husband thinks she is nuts. Is that the response anyone else gets from their family members who just don't understand the value of the board?

I would say the models are the same as the ones in WDW. At least from what I've seen photo wise. I guess it is because AKL doesn't do much for me. VWL doesn't do much for me either just because of how dark everything is. Yet I know others who love them. That's the great thing about DVC - something for everyone.
