2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

Here is the survey question that is up on the Member Cruise site, but I thought it would be interesting to see what my fellow DISers think.

What are you most looking forward to on this year's Member Cruise? Let us know and see how your choice compares to everyone else.

Snorkeling off of Castaway Cay

Seeing Disney legends in person

Relaxing by the pool

Disney Vacation Club's fun surprises

For me it is seeing the Disney legends in person. We have been blessed on our previous cruises with taking a tour of the Wonder with one of the Imagineers who helped with the design and outfitting of it. We've heard talks by WDW Ambassadors and Disney legends Art Linkletter and Roy Disney. We've seen Ducky Williams do his drawings while telling his story. Last, but by no means least we've been entertained by Andrea McArdle, Susan Egan, Jody Benson and Jennifer Hudson. Can't wait to see what they have in store for us this year.

So what are you looking forward to most?

I can't wait for the DVC fun surprises.

Have a great week end and a Happy Father's day to all the Dad's.

Good morning Member Cruisers!

Happy Father's Day to all the DIS dads!

:beach: :beach: :beach: :beach: Does the space shuttle go in the same direction each time during launch or does it change? I am asking because we will be in Vero Beach the day of the projected launch and it would be an unexpected treat to witness.

Hi all, well back from our TransAtlantic Crossing and came back with colds and coughs, but besides that, we had a great time.

We were staying at Vero Beach when there was a shuttle launch. The resort actually offered a tour up to the space center and we actually went to the roof of one of the buildings to see the launch. It was incredible.

Kay and I are staying at the Radisson I think the night before our cruise. I wouldn't be surprised though if the launch date changes and it doesn't happen.

Okay, I'll check in periodically. Working and getting ready for our next cruise with our daughter Jamie (15). We will be going to Dublin, Ireland on July 14 and stay for 2 1/2 days and then fly to Barcelona and then get on the Magic for 10 nights! When we get back we are going to Madrid and then flying home from Madrid.

After that, my next cruise is the Member Cruise. Yippee! And Mary, I totally agree, my favorite part will be seeing Disney legends. That's what makes this cruise so different from the others!

If there is anything critical, PM me please!

Great pictures Ursula! I really love the ones from December. The Lights of Winter is one of our favorite things to see at Holiday time at WDW. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Great pictures. I love Disney at Christmas time, before the crowds!!!

Personally I am VERY excited for everything. I can't choose just one. It's our first cruise, and to put icing on the cake, its a DVC cruise too.

I like the pictures :)

Today has been 11 weeks, no passports yet - still processing.

Cobbler - I don't blame you. If this was my first cruise I'd be excited about everything as well. I think you are going to spoiled having the DVC cruise as your first one.

Good luck with getting those passports soon. The good news is you still have plenty of time.

PDFG and all who need it.

Hey Cobbler
It took us about 14 weeks to receive our passports. Then when we did receive them DH and DDs were processed 1 week earlier than mine, but I received mine before them. Another thing, their passports and birth certificates were enclosed together- I just received my birth certificate in the mail today (almost 2 weeks after my passport). Go figure that one out. :confused3 Government working at its best.

Good morning all have been gone for a while. I hope everybody is diong well.Nanc and I are counting days until Oct 21st. Wondering about Passports. We didn't have to have them on the 2005 Members Cruise but thi year I don't know. Could anybody hhhelp with that question?
Everybody have a Magical Day

Dan the official rule is you don't have to have them but DCL recommends them. That is because you do have to have a passport if you are flying back into the country from the Caribbean. So if anything happened to you or Nanc on the ship or the island and you needed to be flown home it would be more difficult for you.

If you are going to get them (and I highly recommend them as well) better do it quick. As noted some are reporting waits of up to 14 weeks and I know at least one family that should be sailing the Med right now and had to cancel because theirs didn't show up in time and they ordered it in February.

Thanks Mary I think its's to late for Nanc and I to get passports for this Cruise but im sure we will have them for the next. I think I mentioned before we wil be going down 2 days before the Cruise and staying at OKW and after 5 days. Hope to meet a few cruisers.

Dan are you talking about the join date under your name here on the DIS? That is the date you joined the DIS not DVC. If it is wrong you can e-mail admin at admin@wdwinfo.com They should be able to help. It is something a webmaster would need to fix not a moderator. Hope that helps.

We are so excited to be going on this cruise!! This will be our 4th Disney Cruise, 1st DVC. We're counting the days.
Now, if I could only get my 2.5 year old potty trained in time. He'll be 3 October 17. Just in time for the cruise!!

Oh, we are staying at the All Star Resort. Is it too late to get in on the transportation to Port Canaveral? If it is, do you know what our options are? We have always flown in and then got on the bus. Never stayed the night before leaving.

Thanks so much!! I look forward to meeting everyone! This is gonna be sooooo great!!
