2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

Giving us a bump from page 2. With all the new threads for the 2008 cruises we dropped down pretty quickly. Anyone doing a 2008 cruise?

Our May '06 group had hoped to cruise together in the summer of '08 on an Eastern. Some of them have now booked the June 8th Mexican cruise. Mark and I booked an April '08 Eastern with some friends.

So we have this as '07 cruise and an April '08 cruise to look forward too.

No we havn't booked any 2008. We are going to Alaska in June of 08. We were wanting to do an Eastern in the fall of 08. But none of the dates are good for us. So I guess we will wait and see what member cruise they do in 08. We had our first fall vacation in 06 with out kids and really enjoyed it. It's hard to justify it with two in college, but it was a lot of fun. We were hoping to cruise with our double dip buddies from 9/06, but it looks like they are going on the eastern repo. We can't cruise for that long or that early in August.

have a great Friday.

We booked the WB Panama Canal (repeater for us-we did the first one also) and then we booked the July 28 Magic which during that sailing will be the 10 year anniversary of the maiden voyage!

Scary storms down FL way. Hope everyone from here is safe!

I hate to say, but there is a cat 6 available. I cancelled our ressie a little while ago. We are going to be on the EB repo 08 instead. I sure hope that you all have a great time.
Paula

We are not cruising in 08 unless it's a member cruise(if we get lucky). How is everybody doing? We are still researching airfare and car rental, wish us luck.

You are going to LOVE Alaska - it is SO beautiful!! If you want some input on excursions when you get closer - send me a PM. I did the cruise with Holland America a few years ago I HIGHLY reccommend that you find a few days to spend in Anchorage. Just be sure that you do the cruise that goes from Seward to Anchorage or vice versa - some of the cruise go in and out of the same port - and you loose one port of call. I will see if I can find some time to post some pictures of my trip (I took over 2000!!)

I could talk/type for hours about the things I saw and did - but my main comment is about the port thing - I am not sure how DCL is going to set it up. Just remember - by doing the cruise you are seeing one very small portion of the state.

Alaska covers over 2/3 of the lower 48 if superimposed!!! Picture the following areas covered: Bangor Maine, Key West, Galveston and Las Vegas!!!! The cruise would take you from Galveston Tx to Dallas/Fort Worth!!!!

Enough babble - PM if you want more :)

Padalyn,

Thanks, we are looking at Princess. With a three day tour before, then the southbound 7 day. They havn't opened up June of 08 yet so we really can't book anything yet.

I would love to see you pictures.

Thanks again.

I will see if I can post the whole Power Point thingy I made up...not sure the music will transfer (even with Pack n Go it has been iffy). The file takes about 30 minutes to play, so, it is way too large to email. I will see if PhotoBucket will allow me to do it.

Hi everyone. If I am reading correctly we will NOT need passports this year for going on the member cruise, correct? Just birth certificates with the official seal for everyone, correct?

We are thinking of not getting passports for the family this year to save some cash and because the kids passports will only be good for 5 years. We would rather wait until we know they are going to use them more.

Providing my understanding is correct, is there any other additional forms we may need for my step-son? We have full physical custody of him but joint legal custody. I just want to make sure I have everything I need.

We sent off for our passports. DH's family lives in Canada, so if anything would happen to any one we would have to go quickly.

We had some nice weather today. ALmost 70. We went and sad at the beach for lunch. But we have turned into florida wimps. We had our sweaters on and the snow birds are out there in shorts.

I hope it stays nice. I am trying to exercise and lose some weight, but these yucky week ends keep me indorrs and too close to food!!!!!!!

We are going to see Jimmy Buffet this week end. Can't wait.

Have a good night.

We got passports for everyone even the baby. I personally think it is easier to travel anywhere with passports vs. birth certs.

We got 1 inch of snow late last night, the kids got a snow day but by the time we were all to go out (putting on snow bibs, boots, hasts, gloves...) the sun had melted most of it. The kids did get to go sledding for a little bit and the temps made it up to a warm 30, it's gonna get in the 20's tonight. I wish the mild temps would come back, we were loving it. My DD's Bday party is coming up on Saturday and it's a pool party at our local Rec Center so naturally it will only be in the 20's.

Have a good night all, talk to you tomorrow.

Good morning everyone! We've had our passports for a number of years now (actually I've had one since before I was married but that expired and then I had to get one in my married name). Makes check-in very easy and it is nice to know we have them if needed.

Still very cold here in Chicagoland. At least we'll be warming up in a couple weeks when we head to Hawaii (thank you DVC)!

In December I got around to renewing mine and we also took DS4 and DS6 down to get their first passports. They crack me up; they keep calling them their travel licenses. Of course that sparked DS6 to ask when he can get his drivers license :scared1:

Why does 10 years seem to be a very frightening and short time now? :lmao:

Don't even tell me about it, our oldest DS will be 12 this year. He already has girls calling the house everyday, getting "secret admire" notes in his locker at school. I am not looking forward to it.

Ok, time to check in.

First time DVC cruisers, this will be our 6th DCL cruise.

Ashley & Karen! Yeah! Glad to see you guys again. It's been too long since I was last in London.

And Linda - we seem to be traveling a lot together lately... :cool1:

We are really looking forward to this. Adrienne (DW) is so excited about the double dip at CC. She can't wait!
