2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

Good morning everyone - happy Wednesday!

Billy - that is exactly the reason for the meet. A chance to get to know your fellow cruisers. Always nice to walk around the terminal, the ship or Castaway Cay and spot fellow DISers.

We're looking forward to meeting everyone at both meets.

Good moring all,

It's nice to see every one chatting it up.

I don't have many names on the dining list yet. So please send me your info if you are interested.

Have a great Wednesday. We set a heat record here yesterday. It has been awful. My youngest works on the beach. He says it's too hot to even sit on the beach. The gulf gets too hot also this time of year, so you can't even cool off in the water.

We plan to be at the meet at the Beach Club on Saturday.

Anyone who is there before the cruise who would like to meet up for dinner on friday or Saturday night please PM us.

We are at OKW resort.

Hi Ashley and Karen: glad to see you checked in. Linda and I will be at Radisson on Saturday. Not sure if she is going to fly into Orlando or come to Ft. Lauderdale and we drive up together. When we figure everything out, we'll see what is best for her schedule. Have a safe trip over.

yep, we aren't sure of the final plans yet. Have to sit on Linda and have her make up her mind !!!! - if we can keep her home long enough and then I be at home at the same time. LOL

If she doesn't have the navigators finished, she can always finish them at my house, if she flys into Ft. Lauderdale.

Geez, the time is flyng by. Don't want it to fly by, as the the week will go by fast. Just taking it one day at the time.

It is horribly hot here in Ft. Lauderdale.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Hope you are doing some fun things

Are you saying I am never around?

Yes, just got home at midnight last night from my latest trip to New York for a finance meeting. Nothing exciting there.

Now I am headed out of the office for an IRS Form 990 seminar for the rest of the day. :rolleyes1 I'm sure it will be a sleeper.

Guess I better start looking at plane reservations.

Next scheduled trip: Labor Day weekend for the marathon at DL. Mini meet scheduled with all our california disboard friends and we are sneaking in a brunch on Sunday at Club 33!

ha ha - no one gets more confused than me. I keep thinking I posted this or that on a thread and it ends up, I posted it on another one.

I don't mind being confused. Keeps people thinking. :lmao:

YEP, the mini little Navigators are nice. I made one for one of my cruises and it turned out beautiful. Sort of tricky trying to put it in a boooklet form, but keeps us on our toes trying to do something new.

OK - Beach Club at 3 pm. We'll try and make it - still have to get in touch with Linda. I don't want to slow down, I might stop all together.

We should have a real fun cruise this year.

Kay, can we hit the mini-meet so I can hand out mini-navigators and then at some point head to the hotel we are staying at?

Or is driving in to Orlando out of our way?

I don't see why we can't. Don't have to stay the whole time but if things got exciting, we could. Not a problem.

We will be staying at OKW also on Saturday before the cruise. We have dinner ressies for Olivias. We also have booked BW Thurs-Sun and then to VB Sun-Thurs (just not ready for vacation to end:rotfl:

Has anyone ever been on one of these cruises....

and do you know if the Breathless II is the same kind of boat as the Breathless.

We have been trying to come up with an idea for door signs ourselves. If you find anything great let me know.
Hi everyone. DW & I can't wait for the member cruise. I have a question for ACOURTWDW-How /Where did you get the 15th Anniv. logo in your signature?

Can anyone help us with travel insurance? What do they cover? The plane ride down/back? Illness? Who has the best rates/coverage? We have never done this before and are in uncharted waters.

In doing some checking, one place told us that we can't get travel insurance now because we are under the 75 day booking window.:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

If we aren't too late, maybe there are others out there who can use the information.:thanks: :thanks: :thanks:

First of all - Welcome :cutie:

Amanda did a cut and paste from last year's 2006 cruise boards. My sister (Amanda) is way better at this than I am. I think she got it from Mary (wdwlvr). Mary could probably could help you with this. :cool2:

Yes, that is correct with reference to be 75 days out. Actually, it is 90 days out for this cruise because we basically had to book through DVC.

You can possibly get insurance through a private agency. They are the only ones who can tell you what is covered.

Also, usually, medical/illnesses is a different charge and policy.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll have to look for the 2006 cruise boards. I'm also open to other suggestions. 73 more days!!!!!!

Kay, thanks for the link to the door sign thread - there really is TONS to choose from!! Lots to keep me busy until the cruise!
Does the cruise ship still give you a DVC member magnet on the member cruise? Anyone know?
Tks.

My last cruise in November they came and put one on the door and it was just a regular cruise so I would say yes.

Yep, absolutely. They are pretty much on every cruie.

If you don't use DCL and go thru a travel agency, many times they miss you as a DVC member. Just stop by the DVC desk or call them, the number is easily gotten from guest services, and they will bring one to your door. They are happy to do that.

Good morning everyone!

Welcome aboard Disney Pappy! Got your info and will be adding it to the website soon. Looking at the logo you are talking about it appears that it is being hosted by Cheryl (CherylP3) so I would get her permission first. Then all you need to do is click on it get the properties and copy the url location. You then go up to the bar at the top that says UserCP. There will then be a section that says edit signature. In your signature use the insert image (looks like a small yellow square with a mountain in it) and paste in the url of the image. You should then be set.

The magnets started on the 2005 Member Cruise. I don't remember having them on last years. Instead we got magnetic white boards with a DVC logo and smaller magnets you could use to leave messages. I'm sure we'll have something just not sure if it is the same magnet they now use on the regular cruises.

Mary, the DVC cruise might be a little different. But they have the round DVC logo magnets on every cruise. You just have to ask for them, if they are not on your door already. On all three of my cruises so far this year, I went through a TA and didn't have one until I stopped by the DVC desk on Deck 4 midship and asked. They are happy to have one brought to your room/door.

But that is right, they will probably give us something extra and different for the Member Cruise.

Now, watch them make a "liar" out of me !!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Like the baby having an ear ache and at the drs. they don't have an ear ache..............

Just another surprise for us, I guess

Hey Mary - isn't BB8 getting to be worse and worse?? I am so disappointed in the show this year. I keep up with Jokers and the show really is a joke:sad2: :sad2:
