2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

I did a search to try and get the official wording on the 800 number and got this, Apparently it is a DIS decision not a DVC one but as Cheryl points out our dues pay for that number. Either way that is why it was starred out and when that happens it is against board guidelines to go around the filter. Thanks for editing so quickly Kay.

This is from tech support on another post:

Note: Edited by Tech Support. The MS 800 number is not to be posted since it's a members' only number and the DISboards has elected not to make that number public on these forums. Phone number removed even though it was not MS's number, because the one digit transposition is easily reversed to see the MS number.

This is Nancy. Finally found some time to sit down and tell everyone that I really enjoyed the cruise. By the second time we knew what we wanted to do & didn't waste time finding our way around. It was especially helpful knowing some people already from this message board......Mary & Mark, thanks for arranging the meets & the pins. Joanne & Roger, we had a good time with you guys at CC & watching the Sox. Kay, thanks for the little gifts even though we didn't do FE. To our dinner buddies (Socks & Co.) we enjoyed your company. And to everyone else we spent time with - it was great getting to know you..... Now that I've read some of the posts I have to say I agree about the gifts. We still have a pile in the corner of a room & we need to decide what to do with them. I have a feeling some of them will end up in a box in the attic!
When I compared the cost of a members cruise to a regular one, I found that the former is a lot more expensive. I suppose it's the tips & extra food on CC & the extra entertainment. But we could do a 7 day for just a little more than the 2008 members cruise. Hmmmm.

Nancy

A little more background. People (non-DVC) who made trades on the Rent Trade board were calling on the 800 number trying to get information about thier trades, make request for specific room, change names on reservations, complain about bad deals, etc. Some got really difficult with the CMs. That is one of the reasons we no longer allow the number to be shown. It is for members only.

Nancy - nice to see you posting. You are right you can do a regular 7 day for not too much more than a member cruise. The reason we love doing them are the guests. Just not something you get on a regular cruise.

Art Linkletter (2005), Roy Disney (2006) and Richard Sherman (2007) each meant so very much to me. Truly exceptional experiences I wouldn't have on a regular cruise.

Of course you, and everyone else, has to do what is right for them.

Morning all,

It's nice to know I am not the only one that wasn't thrilled. I just think if they charge more for this cruise it should be special. Different menu's would be nice. Since most of us are repeat cruisers the same thing gets old.

Did any one get the wine glasses from Palo? I didn't think that was fair to give them to the ones that had dinner in Palos? We got two they are very nice but every one should have gotten them.

I can't wait to see everyones pictures!!!
HI everyone, sorry it's been a while since I've posted. I had eye surgery(custom lasik aka PRK) done on Wed and I am just now getting to see well enough to read up on all that I have missed. The words are still a bit fuzzy but I can make out most of what is here.

DH and I did attend dinner the last night and we did get the wine glasses which I thought were really cool.

So, since I have to make a business trip this Saturday to California for Sunday to Tuesday, I asked my co-worker if she would be interested in trying to snag tickets for Wicked Saturday night instead of going to DL. I told her I thought the chances would be pretty unlikely that we could get tickets. She said sure.

So I went to the website, checked it out and bought

2 TICKETS FOR WICKED THIS SATURDAY NIGHT!

I'm so excited to see it since we saw Eden on the ship and I caught a glimpse of the show from Ugly Betty last week.

Who woulda thought..................................:cool1:

Very cool! I loved her performance on the ship. How great that you are getting to see the whole show!

well - now - AREN'T WE A SPECIAL ONE !!!!!!!!

Good for you, my friend. And I saw Ugly Betty also with some of the parts. I thought that was so strange that it aired after our cruise.

Hope you have very good seats. Try and control yourself :3dglasses

7 day, 7 day, 7 day, 7 day,

Some great points Linda. The only thing I could answer of your questions is this:

The Steamboat Willie Mickey is what is on the bow of the Wonder. That's the tie-in since we were on the Wonder.

:lmao: OMGosh, and I put Donald on that trivia thing we handed in. Obviously wasn't reading properly because he is on the stern. :lmao:

Mickey Sorcerer is on the Magic

You can remember by thinking "Micker Sorcerer is Magic". That way I never forget. Does that make sense???

well, with this time change it is dark outside already and it is not even 6 pm. Don't care for this at all.

Is it snowing in Chicago and mid west yet???

No but it was in the forecast for tomorrow.

Yeah, I did the same thing first too and someone corrected me. They probably drew your card and then had to draw someone else's :lmao:

I never win those things!

Funny thing......when I got off at Castaway Cay the first time I was standing next to the ship talking to Captain John and I asked him and he didn't know! Said when we pulled in Thursday we would be able to see since he was pulling in forward. I thought that was funny, that he didn't know.

And, I think he was a little embarrassed that he really did not know w/certainty. It was funny :confused3

Did I mention that we got to see the control room of the Expedition Everest ride last week?

We were trying to deceide whether or not to get in the single rider line, when a nice CM, Matt took us through the fast pass line, rode the ride with us and then took us into the cotrol room. We met the CM who mans it (can't remember his name) and he told us how the ride works. The Yeti was on plan b. He said he hurt his back getting out of bed. That means they only light up the Yeti and he doesn't move during the ride. I was so shocked, I forgot to take any pictures. It was awesome.

Very :cool1: Annette - Another wonderful adventure.

I haven't been able to go on the ride yet - but maybe sometimes in the future.

Are we going to use this board for the 2008 Cruise or will somebody start a new one? Nanc and I haven't tried Everest yet. I know she won't go but I might.
We are still talking about the 2007 cruise and are waiting for the17th to start calling for 2008.
