Can anyone tell me please when Virgin will release bookings for 2007?

Poly or Cont?

Thanks.

Hi Kev
The 06 brochre has only just come out at the end of June so I would assume that for the 07 dates you are looking at the end of June 06.
with regards to the hotels not sure as haven't stayed in either but if it was me looking to book I would go for the Poly. ::MinnieMo

The reason i'm asking is that I read somewhere that Summer 06 was already getting booked up, and so was wanting to get in there fast for 07!!!

You will probably save a fortune booking the hotel through Disney with a discount code and then just flights/car with Virgin. The Disney hotels usually don't fill up (if at all) until around 4-6 months before you want to stay.

I've never stayed at The Contemporary, but the Polynesian is incredible. I rate it better than the Grand Floridian. :sunny: Let me know if you have any questions and I will try to help :)

Thanks - so first of all - how do you get a discount code?

Second - we stayed at Cont last year and loved it. So we wanted a change - I would most like to stay at the animal kingdom lodge, but the days we went to MK or EPCOt the monorail was just too damn convenient. We walked around GF, but didn't seem to think that it was that much better for the extra money!! First impressions and all that!! So that only leaves the Poly left on the monorail system!

Disney release general public codes a couple of months before, and these can be found at www.mousesavers.com - you can call Disney, give them the code and they will tell you the discounted rates or you can book through an agent such as Dreams Unlimited Travel, who will continually check for any discounts on your behalf (for free). They are a great agency, with free itinerary planning and superb service. If you are staying for 5+ nights in a WDW resort, it will probably also be cheaper for one member of your party to buy an Annual Pass, so that you are eligible for an Annual Pass dicount for your room reservation. You can save £££'s compared to the Virgin Holidays brochure prices.

I don't think you would be disappointed with The Polynesian. The views are sensational (much like the CR I imagine :) ) and the rooms are being totally refurbished this year and next, so in 2007 the entire resort will be brand-new and sparkling clean :sunny: The new rooms have flat-screen plasma televisions, new bathrooms, new beds, totally new decor and they look amazing. You can find the pictures online.

AKL is a bit of pain transportation-wise. Like you said, there is nothing like the convenience of being on the monorail system :)

Thanks. I'm itching to go!!! Sounds nice about the referb and this will prob swing my mind!! Can you give me the website - the official site is giving nothing in way of referb info?

We are DVC members and trying to get a flight during the school holidays from UK to Orlando is extremely expensive and you have to be fast!!!

Hi all.

I have just come off the phone to Virgin, asking them when they will be releasing 2007 prices.

They have said that from Jan 07 to April 07 dates will be released "on or about the 24th November".

Hope this helps - we're hoping to book for the Feb half term in 07.

Hi Lorraine and Kev,

Thats what I like, two people after my own heart. We are thinking ahead to 2007 as well and we like to go around Easter so roll on November!

Virgins Site has the following about advance bookings.

Q. I want to make a booking in advance of when the brochure is out - how do I do this?
A. Exact brochure launch dates are confirmed at the last minute. However if you have an exact holiday in mind you can register your interest in advance by writing into:

Virgin Holidays
Reservation Services Administration
The Galleria
Station Road
Crawley
West Sussex
RH10 1WW

Or send a fax to 01293 536957 or 01293 558344.

You will need to give details of your proposed date of departure, duration of holiday, number of passengers and chosen hotel and destination. When the brochure goes on sale, we will contact you with a booking reference and price and hold the booking for 3 weeks, so that you can decide if you want to go ahead with the booking. Please note, however, that if you already have a holiday booked from a current brochure and want to amend the booking you cannot make a deposit transfer onto an advanced registered booking until the brochure is on sale.

SNAP!!! That's when we are planning on going! Three weeks over Easter 2007. We have already registered our interest with Virgin, November can't come soon enough!:goodvibes

This Easter day and I believe last Xmas day - Virgin's web site were offering 15% discounts. I missed it as I didn't know that the 15% discount was a one day offer. That was when I was first looking at 2006.

Yes, they did this offer on Good Friday as well, as we booked the Caribbean with 15% discount. They don't advertise it very well, but check it out this Christmas if you're planning a 2007 trip, if reservations open in November, I'd wait for Christmas to see if you can snag the discount :flower:

The Easter offer was over the bank holiday. People usually post on this site, to let everyone know.

The poly sounds lovely, anyone know how much the rooms are with a discount?

One can get a garden view room in value season for $259/night with an AA (AAA) discount. However, this rate can drop lower with an AP or General Public Code :flower:

I would not book thru travel agent - try www.expedia.co.uk for flights - usually three months ahead is cheapest and also book hotel direct. Go to the us version of this site, then trip planning and resorts board - here there is a codes and discount boards and they will post any worthwhile discounts as they come up.

If it were me I would choose the poly out of the two. It was the first on site hotel i stayed and it is excellent - the rooms are huge and the transportation is fast and convenient.
