Greenwood, just south of Indianapolis.
cool - I lived in Shelbyville, IN for a while. Had inlaws in Greenwood, but that was a lifetime ago :)

I'm getting more and more excited. I still have TONS to do - I think that's making the time fly by.

What a small world after all!

Is everyone either shopping or packing? Especially you, Holly--no posts in more than a day. Are you sick?

No, no, no more shopping, please. I spent three days with three little ones crawling through shoe stores for my DW. In the end she decided that the ones in her closet are just fine. Please no more, please make it stop. We are now in the iron everything under the sun phase, charge every battery, pack every i-pod, dvd players, laptops, video cams, digital cams, underwater cams. And to think I told the kids that they had to limit their toys...What's the duct tape for again???

Everyone, I figured out what the duct tape is for. First, as you are packing your bags to leave the ship, it is to keep the bags closed as they are bursting at the seams with all of the extra stuff you bought on vacation. Then, for those of you driving, like me, you use it to tape your luggage to the top of the vehicle as there is no more room in the vehicle because of the gigantic Mikey, Minnie, and Goofy stuffed animals that your children HAD to have to add to their collection.

I posted a few days ago that I had some ressies for Palo on Sunday. I have had 2 replies so far. What I have is the group room at Palos. Monstro and I have a hugh party, 22 in all. We both asked for the group room months ago. We just found out that both of us got it. We do not need it twice. That means I could either see if a group of you wanted it or I will have to call Disney and give it back.
If we give it back I don't think that will open any ressies because we were told it is only used for groups. The group must be atleast 12 people and no more than 14 people. I have had 4 people PM. If anyone else is interested just PM me. I would hate for this room to go to waste.

Has anyone made a count of the number of children in our group lately. We want to make sure we bring enough items for everyone.

Too funny...... :rotfl2: We did something similar on our trip to Myrtle Beach. We had to have luggage on the top of the vehicle because of all the STUFF we took to the beach. We did not use duct tape, however, we did have luggage tied to the top. Duct tape would have been better..... :rotfl2:

I've had the group room twice for dinner. It is especially nice if you want to provide some travelling companions a really above average experience.

Maybe we ought to plan on leaving the Promenade Lounge at some point Saturday afternoon and taking a group photo of the people involved from Disboards. (I guess we could even try and do it IN the lounge, but we need a place that will stagger us height wise, as it sounds like we'll have a lot of folks there.)

Gotta wait for Holly & Tyler to get there tho!

If we don't do it Saturday, we'll never do it.

AWFULLY nice of you to wait for us to get there! :thumbsup2 I'm feeling better about making it to the meet because 2 of our fellow cruisers have offered to pick us up from the airport, so I'm sure we'll get there quicker. No waiting for the DCL bus to load, no waiting to rent a car plus drop car off plus shuttle to port, etc. Now I just have to hope for NO weather delays and NO strike delays (flying Northwest). :wizard: It's too much to worry about, so this is our last time flying in the same day. From here on out we'll come in the night before, I promise!

:rotfl2: Gee, missing me already?! Just been REALLY busy. Went to go for a ride on Thomas the Train yesterday and spent half the day in the little village where Thomas was visiting. Then my mom came to town to visit us and took us out to eat and helped me pull weeds. Or maybe I should say--pulled weeds for me. ;) Then I was really busy at work today. Have lots of posting to do to get caught up!

My mom was quite amused at Tyler's packing job when he showed her what he put in his suitcase for the cruise: EVERY pair of socks in his drawer, most of his pajamas, 1 shorts outfit, pirate costume, and a whole bunch of books. Well, what did she expect from a 4 year old! :confused3 I thought it was pretty darn funny! :teeth:

WELCOME aboard to everybody new that I haven't welcomed yet. And welcome back to you returning posters who haven't been here in a while. The more the merrier!

It seems the friends I met on our last cruise (threebritts) and planned this cruise with have DROPPED OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH! :rolleyes1 If you're reading this, just come find us in 6136 in LESS THAN 2 WEEKS! :yay:

Hi Everyone!

Sorry for the late posting on this. We will be a family of 3 (myself, DH, & DS9) on deck 7. Is it too late to email someone a pic of us so it can be posted for you all? I'd love to meet up with the Dis group (I hear at 2:30pm at the Promenade lounge but what day again is this? the first day-Sat?).
I am packing like crazy already (just got all the pirate costumes sewed and accessories bought today). We will be doing 5 days land before the cruise happens.
Question, what time is best to be at the boat by? I have not been able to make Palo reservations (tried and tried for over 2 months online!) and would hope there is still a chance since we are celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary.
This will be our very first time cruising! I can't wait! Talk to you all soon! We have 7 days left!!!!! Wooooooohoooooooo! :Pinkbounc

DS(9)

Welcome aboard! Never too late for pictures. I'll PM my email address to you.

Thanks
Jeff

A couple of questions now that I've gone to the dark side.

For those of you that have had connecting cabins, how did that work out? When we first booked this cruise (connecting cabins deck 2) my mother in laws boyfriend was not going, now he is. It's a little strange for me to have my kids in a room with a stranger (we've only met him once). Is it even possible to put 4 kids and 2 adults in one cabin?

Did I see someone has extra brunch reservations? I would be willing to trade my dinner reservations for brunch if anyone is interested.

We have connecting cabins - never been in one, but we just plan on leaving the door open the whole time. We'll have a newbie from England in with us. My oldest daughters friend... Oli. Were very excited to meet him.

Please, can someone confirm for my feeble brain what time we're trying to meet up in the promande lounge on Saturday? Is it 2 or 2:30? I meant to note it in my calendar and never did...

Also, here's a dumb question, but for the mickey paint chip name tags, do you bring a roll of tape to stick them to your tshirt with or is there a better way??

I think someone asked about pirate clothes for DH- I made mine a red/white stripped sort of ragged vest to wear over a plain white t and he'll have a bandana and call it done. You could always just get a cool POTC tshirt (they're all over the disney stores and probably elsewhere as well) and let him call that a pirate outfit. Add an eyepatch maybe? pirate:

I guess that's all from me (for now!)
