We were going to bring bubbles in our carryon soft sided cooler that might later be packed with margarita making materials, but now that the TSA has new restictions we will not longer be doing so. Maybe we can bring some glowing necklaces. We will be there with bells on!!CaptainJack said:I don't mind posting our names--Lionel, Becky, Rebekah, and Raquel (or Rachael--it depends on her mood). I do have a question about the get together on Saturday. If I recall correctly, we were going to have some "goodies" for the kids. Am I correct? And, if so, is anyone organizing that? And, do they need us to bring anything?

Just a request, but would people possibly be willing to post real names with their notes now (or at least if you're going to try to meet us in person)? I'd love to start having a few more names to go with the screen names- or do you want to be refered to as 'tiggerbunny' all weekIf not, that's ok too, it was just a thought.

But, did you ever think that she forgot those items on purpose so that it would inspire you to pack for yourselves???? I say this as our official packer. I love the whole process though...and have over limited our weights so now weigh them on a scale ahead of time. I am not obsessive compulsive till it comes to packing.
I am beginning to think of delegating some of the responsibilty so that the kids will learn what it takes. Someday!

CaptainJack said:So, did either of you get any grief from your daughters about missing sporting events while on the cruise because I got a little. While the girls are really excited about going on the cruise, they are missing a figure skating competition on the Sunday before Labor Day. They both started about a year ago, and have now been in 3 competitions and are quickly progressing toward freestyle level. They love the DCL, but are kind of disappointed about missing a competition with most of their friends entering.
Since I missed our last vacation in early July because they were a competition in Augusta, I told them I would miss the cruise only if US Figure Skating called, said they could skip all of the tests, elevated them to Juvenile Freestyle and that they are going to the Nationals, but they have to skip the cruise for all of this to take effect. I got the obigatory groan (in stereo) and no further grief about missing one skating competition.
tggrbuny said:have a few questions of the DCL veterans.
Someone (maybe it was Courtney) said they were bringing their two way radios. Do those work well? Will they work in the various ports? We have only used ours at local festivals. Since we now both have cell phones, it was easier to just call but with no service .
I forgot about the Palo reservations till it was almost too late on the 90th day. The only thing I could get was dinner the first night at 730. I really hate this I want to meet our table mates. Will I still be able to make the early show and Palo? I want to get nice table mates and if we arent there the first night we will be assigned to the wackos everyone else complains about on the cruise board? We wont get to the ship until 2 - do you think I can get different Palo reservations that late? The only thing I really want to try is the soufflé. Can I just order that from the Palo bar??![]()
We are having a cake brought the second night (formal) night to celebrate Daves birthday and the third night to honor our 20th anniversary. Have I crammed all the wrong things on all the wrong days![]()

Welcome! I would try to get there as early as you can (betw 10-11 if that's possible) so you can board early and go straight to where you make Palo ressies. That will be listed in your navigator you'll get when you check in. Since it's such a special occasion, I really hope you get the night you want!ThinMom2Disney said:Hi Everyone!
Sorry for the late posting on this. We will be a family of 3 (myself, DH, & DS9) on deck 7. Is it too late to email someone a pic of us so it can be posted for you all? I'd love to meet up with the Dis group (I hear at 2:30pm at the Promenade lounge but what day again is this? the first day-Sat?).
I am packing like crazy already (just got all the pirate costumes sewed and accessories bought today). We will be doing 5 days land before the cruise happens.
Question, what time is best to be at the boat by? I have not been able to make Palo reservations (tried and tried for over 2 months online!) and would hope there is still a chance since we are celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary.
This will be our very first time cruising! I can't wait! Talk to you all soon! We have 7 days left!!!!! Wooooooohoooooooo!![]()

From Indiana, taking on this cruise besides myself, my husband, 4 kids (10,8,6,4), my mother in law and her boyfriend. Deck 2 (side by side cabins) and this is our first Disney cruie although we've taken several other cruises.
Getting very excited!!!!
That would be great. We haven't told our little princess yet, but I know she will be excited. DW and I are a little concerned that she will want to cling to us instead of hook up with some DD's and DS's. This will be her first cruse and sometimes she has a tendancy to by super shy, but she usually perks up especially if meeting Princess Aurora or Minnie Mouse is on the agenda. What is your or anyone else's experience with kids of this age on the cruise? Do they still offer "kid food" if they will not eat what is on the menu? Also, how is the Oceaner's Club?CourtneyMc said:Hi Zcrew. Princess Beth will have to meet Princess Maggie (also 4). There seems to be a pretty good crowd of the 3-4 set on this board. Yea!
