Hi!

I'm new around here. Just saw this thread. DH, DS (10 mos by cruise time) and I are going on the 9/2 cruise! I just booked my airfare today.

I'm going to try and go back to read up on this LONG thread and get to know you all.

I just asked my TA about our cabin assignment and wanting to switch to starboard for the fireworks from our balcony. She said her agent told her there wouldn't be fireworks on this cruise. Wonder if it's worth switching. We'll be a the very end of the ship if we switch sides now.

Melissa

Anybody else heard the rumor of no fireworks???? They did them last year in July, September, and December. So, it wouldn't be planning for hurricanes.

By the way, WELCOME!!! We are just a DH and DW...kids are sailing in July with us!

Who's gettting excited about this cruise?! Less than 4 months to go...I can't wait :Pinkbounc

Hey Monstro.
DeAnne and I went on a 4 day RC cruise last week with some friends from school. It was a joke compared to the 4 day Disney Wonder cruise we did in Jan. The rooms were about 1/2 the size. The food was not as good. And the entertainment was not even close. I am ready for Disney so I can get that other cruise out of my mind.

dawg!!!! was that the four day bahama cruise out of PC? That would have been the one I'd test the waters with.

I have been reading these boards from time to time, and can't thank everyone enough for all the information. I feel I would have been totally lost with out it. I will be crusin with family and friends. I believe a total of 18 of us. I am getting more and more excited each day!! I look forward to meeting some of you, hopefully!!??

Welcome Olliesmom,

That's quite a group. The cruise is getting to be a very exciting topic around our house. We booked our air today, and will book our excursions next weekend, so it feels like it is almost here. We are so looking forward to meeting everyone.

DH and I are veteran travelers, but this is our first trip with our baby. I'm still debating on the carseat. From what I can remember from other cruise excursions, there weren't any seatbelts in any of the taxis or buses. No point in taking a seat if there's no where to put it. Does anyone know about this? I know we're pretty limited on what excursions we can take with an infant. Any suggestions?

DH and I have been to St. Maartin and St. Thomas/St. John before. We know we won't do any trip to St. John with the baby. We always go to St. John we we dock in St. Thomas, so this is our first chance to see St. Thomas. We're thinking about the Coki world.

What excursions are you planning?

Melissa,

We will be travelling with our three kids, DS4, DS3, and DD1. We travel with a carseat only because of airline regulations regarding children under the age of 2 that have their own seat. We will hardly use it for any other purpose. You are pretty much on the mark about the car seat and taxi cabs not being all that compatable, but we lug it along anyhow.

The excursions that we are looking at are the Butterfly Farm in St. Maarten, (we did one of these with our oldest in Mexico and he loved it). In St. Thomas we are looking at just going to the Beach. Afterall why go to the islands and not go to the beach. Like you, before children, by wife and I have been to the islands and seen the typical tourist trappings and our kids don't seem to be all that interested in anything other than the beach. They are still too young to do many of the other options. Looking forward to meeting you and your family. :Pinkbounc

Hello Ollie'smom and Happy Mother's Day to all you DM's!!!

We are in Pasadena CA, not MD. We went cruise shopping yesterday and we are ready to CRUISE!! We are off to Disneyland today to celebrate with the Mom's. Once again, happy Mother's Day!!

Joshua,

The butterfly farm sounds like a good idea for St. Maartin. I'm really leaning towards the Cokiworld and the beach next to it for St. Thomas. We'll probably do it on our own instead of the excursion with the ship.

We bought a seat for DS on the plane already. Just trying to decide whether to check the carseat in a locker and leave it at the airport or not. Where would you keep it in your room?

Anyone else have their excursions planned out? I'm going to miss snorkeling this trip. Love it and can't wait for DS to be old enough to do it.

Is there a group meet planned?

It was the one out of PC. But believe me, it was no Disney cruise. I don't think we will try that one again. I know we would not take the kids on it. I think Disney has spoiled us.

We are thinking about excursions with our 3-year old twin daughters.

We are also looking at CokiWorld but also Megan's Bay on St. Thomas. We are not sure if there's enough time in the day to do both.

We do plan to do the butterfly farm in in St. Maartin.

We are probably going to do them on our own. What advantages does the Disney excursion provide? We want to be on our own schedule if for some reason we need to return to the ship early.

Hello All-
What's CokiWorld I keep hearing about in recent posts? Are people confused with Coral World or is this something diffrent?

Has anyone actually been on the butterfly farm tour?

thanks!

Courtney

All paid up now!! It's wonderful to see the zero balances, but a bit painful with two cabins, seven annual passes to DW, a week at the resort before and a day after, air for seven from L.A. :sunny: ,transfers to the port, it all adds up. Being past that is however a relief, now I can start saving for the next trip, yeah!!!!  :woohoo: :woohoo:

Congrats! But I'm jealous. I still have a bit to go and running out of time. :rolleyes2 Oh well. I'll make it! Probably next payday. Booked flights long ago, so that's one less thing to worry about. Now I'll just be working on paying off our 2 days at Disney afterwards. That one's a cheapy, and isn't due until July, so it's no biggy. :thumbsup2

Can't wait!

DH (34) and I (44) will be joining you on this cruise! We cruised in Sept. 2003 for our 5th anniversry, rebooked for 2005 but had to cancel due to me suffering a hemmoragic stroke in May of 2005. This is our anniversary trip and celebration trip of my recovery (90%) a true miracle according to my Drs. We are very excited! I will be sending our pics to Monstro for posting on his awesome site.

We have no children, live in WA state, and LOVE Disney! I believe our room is one of the navigators verandas.
Palo's brunch here we come! :9
