2006?

Does Disney book that far in advance, and am I crazy to plan so far out? My DH thinks I am in need of serious medical attention. lol!

I THINK there is a limit on how far in advance you can book a room reservation, but I believe it's like 5 years. Call CRO (407-WDISNEY -- 407-934-7639) and to find out, but I think you shouldn't have a problem making the reservation.

I can definitely tell you that unless your reservation is booked for anytime in the year 2004, only your reservation is guaranteed, the price is not. So if you were to book now for 2006, you would be guaranteed a spot at the resort, but you wouldn't know how much it was going to cost you until they released the resort rates for 2006. The rates for 2004 were released at the end of August/beginning of September, to give you an idea as to when to expect them.

HEY MONTE!!

As you can see by my counter, I'll be visiting Disney in 2006 myself. However, I'm waiting til late 2005 to "book" my trip. As said before, you're not gonna know the prices for 2006 til they are released sometime in late 2005. It never hurts to plan this far ahead, but I just like to wait til the year before to get everything booked!

Have fun planning and no you don't need medical attention!! Just a pill here or there to settle your Disney obession.

IF your dh thinks you need help, then so do I. BTW My dh has been shaking his head all week at me. We came back from our trip on August 23 and I put up our clock last week and then it was above 1000 days. I saw your post, and now i know Im not alone- heck half the fun of the trip is the planning!! Right? I started yelling at him to come here quick , IM so excited, now he REALLY thinks Im a lunatic. So welcome to the club. Its all about WDW and your next trip, so naturally its a great one to be in!!LOL Heres to all of us 2006 planners!!!!

Whew! I'm glad To read that I'm not the only one, ha, ha! I understand that they are building a new roller coaster in Animal Kingdom and it's suppose to open in 2006. Has anyone eles read that, if so when in 2006 is it opening?

Congrats on the 10th anniversary, that's great!

We'll all have to keep in touch and keep each other posted on our upcoming trip......hey, maybe we could meet for lunch in 2006? lol

I was told that you could book as far as ten years in advance and the price of your room will be adjusted to fit the rates at that time.

Who told you this? I was told by a Dreams Agent that Disney is only booking until Dec 2004.

Thank you Monte, as far as the roller coaster goes, I havent heard a thing about that , but it would be nice, most of the rides there are pretty low key. And Hey im up for lunch in 2006, wouldnt it be wild if we were all happening to go the same time!!

I did read the article about the new AK coaster - it looks fantastic but the article is at home and I'm at work so I can't verify the timing!!!

Don't worry about your DH - just tell him you're part of the OPA (Obsessive Planner Anonymous) club!!! I don't have the dates set but I've already got my eye on 2006 for our next trip. The worst part is that I'm planning on having my sister and niece come too but I haven't told them yet!!! Hopefully they will indulge my craziness and go with the flow!

DH & I are planning a 2 week stay at the YC in 2006. I'm shooting for the last week of Sept. & the first week of Oct. Who is up for lunch? Anything but sushi.

i've also been told that room reservations are accepted up to 10 years ahead with the rate adjusted - we made our 2008 ressie (for our 10th anniversary) back in 2000, 3 years ago

Tiggerlover, you definitely can book up to ten years in advance. You just pay one night's deposit at the current year's rate and it will be adjusted once your dates are available in their system. You can actually make payments little by little. It's like putting your hotel on layaway. I booked my reservations December of 2002 for our upcoming August 2004 trip.

I made our ressie for 2005 - our 20th wedding anniversary.
Even my kids thought I was a bit Disneyed-out.

OH HOW GREAT TO SEE SO MANY OTHER DISNEY FREAKS OUT THERE!!!

I'm just really excited about this trip and I can't wait til it gets closer. I told DH this morning I wanted to take him to Islands of Adventure for just one day and he smiled at me and said okay. How neat! So we're up to 7 days and 6 nights at Disney...I think that outta bout do it!

How cool you book 10 years in advance. I wonder why my dreams agent told me Disney is only booking to December of 2004. Hmmm???? It doesn't matter, I can wait til til next year and see if I can get the ressies going then. I don't mind paying the difference when that time rolls around. Being a FL resident, I'm sure I'll come out on top anyway.

Well all my 2006 planners, let's keep an eye out on all our timers and see if we can at least meet up to say hi in that time!

I know that the Disney resorts will let you make a reservation YEARS in advance; however, the Dolphin and the Swan are not quite so accomodating. I believe they only take reservations 11 months out.

I know this because I tried to make reservations about 18 months in advance (teacher discount -- gotta love it), and they told me I had to call back later.
