2006 Summer Sanitarium Tour

OMG. I just started reading your TR, and I finally caught up. You are making me very nervous about my trip that we have planned in July with 9 family members including a 6 week old baby and MIL and FIL who love to just wander off without telling anyone! Any advice besides don't do it?

A fake smile.

Well I for one am enjoying the ring of the POP them running through my head! And picturing you guys strolling through the 70's singing it.

I miss those too-much-Disney-I'm-on-overload-punchy-late-nights!

Thanks! We still sing that song. Especially when we open the cabinet and see our Pop Century refillable mugs.

P o p Century, P o p Century..... :rolleyes1

We arrived back at MGM, and for some strange reason headed toward TOT. I think we were trying to catch Fantasmic. We just missed that particular showing...not sure if I can blame smoking and peeing, but I will anyhow. I know that the next 30 minutes was consumed with potty time. I don't know what happened in the boys room, but when GP emerged, he grabbed GM's wheelchair, yelled at Daneice to get out of his way and he stormed off. :confused3 Ok, I guess you aren't staying for EMH? Not sure what that was all about...he was mumbling something and it had started to rain. Oh well! We take shelter around some hat kiosk until the rain became more of a mist. YUK! By now it was time for the last Fantasmic, so off we went. After the show, we saw Little Mermaid and just kind of wandered around enjoying the mostly empty park. A nice CM offered us free strollers. Just as MIL was opening her mouth, I jumped in with NO, MY CHILDREN CAN WALK! Sorry, that's just how I am. They have more energy than I do, and if they are too tired to walk, then we leave. How did I get to be such a big meanie? I'm pretty sure MIL huffed, but too bad! From that moment on, whenever Mr. Clean sees a stray stroller, he says, "there's one of those free strollers." :rotfl: Anyhoo, it's closing time, so we drag our weary hiney buns to the bus stop...the far far away bus stop....the we might as well walk back to Pop bus stop. Our Pop bus was full, not packed, but everyone on board had a seat. The whole bus was completely silent.....just a bunch of tired tourists drifting off to never neverland when all of the sudden.....

Ha, you thought I wa gonna leave you hanging again!

All of the sudden, DS9 breaks the silence with the new catchy Pop Century song. It's a nice little ditty that goes like this:

P o p Century, P o p Century, P o p Century, P o p Century
We're going to the P o p Century, P o p Century, P o p Century, POP CENTURY!
P o p Century, P o p Century, P o p Century, P o p Century
We're going to the P o p Century, P o p Century, P o p Century.

I was about to die laughing, but trying to hold it in so DS9 wouldn't think I was laughing at him. MIL had had enough and told him to stop. I couldn't hold it in any longer, so I just busted out laughing and started singing as well. By this time we were back at the P o p Century, and the tune was just enough to energize this giddy bunch. I, along with the 5 youngins skipped all the way to the room singing the new song. If you were in the 70's section that night and were awaked by some slightly off key singing, I do NOT apologize! I crack up everytime I think of that evening, and for that I make no apologies! This little bit of happiness was enough to get me through one more day....but just barely.

LOVE the song, how cute is that.Im sure that is something you wont forget:cloud9: , singing, skipping(and the kids not telling you to stop that your embarrassing them)- Now thats a true hallmark moment:love: . I hope you have a pic of you and the kids skipping to seal in the memory..As you can see I am a bit sentimental, didnt mean to get all mushy on everyone-SORRY!!
Ok now more of the good stuff, you know tails showing(I love that phrase)and of course peeing, smoking, and wondering.....

Don't worry, we love mushy stuff! And yes, more peeing, smoking, and a near death experience to come. :cool2:

Oh my a near death experience!!
Did the near death exp have anything to do with BIL setting himself ablaze with his cigarettes???:smokin: Or did you almost strangle him or kick his a**:crazy2: ??He sounds like he could use a good butt whipping..maybe then hell look after his kiddies.
Torture I tell ya--how am I going to get through this waiting for the next tidbit..
MORE PLEASE

Oh yes, we were singing the P o p Century song. Sorry, I had to put it back out there! :rolleyes1

We slept in again the next morning, and by slept in, I mean 8ish. The GP's weren't joining us today as they had been to AK in the past and didn't care for it. They went to the MK. I said, ok, just be at GF at 5 sharp, DON'T BE LATE!

The rest of us had a pretty tasty Pop breakfast and headed to AK. Upon arriving, I realized yet again that I much prefer to park and ride the tram. Easy for us, we don't have a stroller. :thumbsup2 Anyhow, we enter AK, and catch The Lion King. I just love it, especially the monkeys! After LK, then It's Tough to be a Bug. :3dglasses Another one of my favorites. I get so tickled at the folks in the audience, especially those from other countries. There was a lady from Sweden (I think) and she was just tooo funny when....I won't ruin it for first timers, but I was definitely :lmao:! Next we got FP's for Kali and then to find lunch. First we got pizza from Pizzafari for the children, then went to Flame Tree for the adults. MIL found a great spot for us to eat and relax a bit. It was a little seating area with maybe 10-12 tables that overlooked the water. Some characters came by on a boat all decked out in their jungle outfits. Of course Whiner is yelling, "Hey Mickey, Hey Mickey, over here" with arms flailing. We finish eating and here's the juicy part.....

Ok, I'll give you a hint: remember the incident when Whiner was feeding the birds at Epcot? and running after them squawking? :sad2: It has nothing to do with that! :rotfl2:

And the rest of the story.............

Post some more by the morning and I'll read after the kids go to school. :goodvibes Then I gotta get shopping for sunscreen, etc--looks like 80s next week ("delightful and sunny" per your friends at accuweather):)

Wait..... I 'member...at the CS in Mexico, right??? Am I right??? :hyper:

Don't stop now... we've only got what like 3 days 'til you leave! :scared1:

Yes, but it has nothing to do with that! I was just seeing if you were paying attention! :rotfl:

Do keep in mind that Whiner tries to be jut one step ahead of everyone else....you know that kid, the let me get a little higher, a little deeper, a little dumber? But he's not the super competitive obnoxious type, just...well I can't explain it. So, four of the children are lined up at the railing which overlooks the water and the banks. The railing is a decent height so the younger ones have to look through instead of over. Still with me? To set the scene more: remember we have just eaten, hands still greasy with the smell of fresh meat. The children comment about the crocodile below. I go over to have a peak myself cause I didn't believe that there were crocs at WDW. It was a baby about 4 feet long. I believe Whiner wanted to feed it, or may have already thrown some food down. Either way, he was scolded. I turned and went to the trashcan (2 feet away) and when I turned back around, Whiner was up on top of the railing with one foot already over. I screamed to BIL to get his child! I ran over to the railing and the croc had his mouth wide open. :scared1:  :scared1: :scared: :scared1: :scared1: I yelled at BIL, yelled at Whiner, yelled at myself, yelled at the other children, then I almost cried. Not only did he (Whiner) put himself in danger, but he put me, BIL, and DH in danger because if he had fallen, we all would have jumped in after him. And if there was a baby, wouldn't there be a mama? That still gives me the shivers. I was telling my mom what happened and she said "you know those things can jump?!" Great, let me shudder a little more! :sad2:
