2006 Summer Sanitarium Tour

popcorn:: Helllloooooooo.....Is this thing on???

Am I all alone here??? With nothing new to read!?!?!?!? :confused3

I can't be the only one waiting....or can I?

:rolleyes1

You know what.... I just posted this exact same post on your TR, Lauralee!

:rotfl2:

Ok, I'm too lazy to read back through my report....did I tell ya'll that Daneice had mono just before this trip? :scared:

Let me back up a little if I may. Do you remember all of the pre-trip drama? About a week before the trip, we find out that Daneice had mono. Her mother had a flippy fit. Demanded that her children be returned right away because she knew her child and she would give her better care than anyone else. Excuse me, but if you were providing such great care, then please explain why your 8-year old has mono? Uh, did I just say that out loud? Of all the things about my MIL, putting her grandchild in harm's way is not something she would do. If the Doc said no Disney trip, then no Disney trip it is. But psycho MON (mother of neice) is just not a person to reason with. She does, however, listen to me and Sirius....she stops breathing for Sirius. :confused3 I can't believe I left out this tidbit of pre-trip drama. Anyhow, MON's condition for letting Daneice go was that she couldn't ride anything that would jar her spleen. Which we followed.

Back to the evening at MK.....
After Wishes, hey look, I figured out what it was called! After Wishes, we secured our VIP bling that states to the off-siters that we are the chosen ones. Oh how I coveted those wristbands during our previous trip. I longed to have a wonderful CM strap one of them suckers on me with loving care. Finally, I had been crowned (or armed) with the symbol of elite status so I could remain in the park until wee hours of the morning with a few thousand other guests....:cloud9:

Except that the line to get these was way too long, and I was hot and sticky and the thing was a little tight. But I didn't mind, it was a status symbol afterall. Like when you got your new Levi corduroys and Top Siders. Sure they were a bit stiff and uncomfty at first, but once broken in, you were good to go and oh so stylish. I never got my green corduroys quite right plus I didn't have any Polo shirts that matched them.

Alright, alright, back to the story! We hit IASW, then Mickey's Philarmagic. While in line, we chatted about our next park, MGM. Somehow we got on the subject of TOT and all of the sudden....... :cool2: :sad2:

WHAT? Does it involve cigarettes or pee pee?

Darling Niece has SOME health crisis/ breakdown?

Someone gets lost?

WHAT??????

So we decide that TOT is not the best ride for keeping one's spleen in it's intended position. Daneice, feeling her time had come for a pity party, begins to cry, again. She doesn't think it's fair that she has to be sick. Oh my heart was hurting for her. I don't know if Felony just tuned in from LaLa land, but all of the sudden she starts bellowing that she doesn't want her cousin to die. She is hugging her and telling her not to die. :sad1: No one mentioned anything about dying, not sure where that came from. But now there were two little girls crying, the bigger girls frantically giving out hugs and reassurance while fighting back tears and the men folk are just rolling their eyes. Whatevah! Just get our 3-d glasses and give us a moment! :grouphug:

Up next: Extra Magic Hour, indeed! :wizard:

Infectious mononucleosis, also known in North America as mono, the kissing disease', or Pfeiffer's disease

Symptoms usually appear 4-7 weeks after infection, and may resemble strep throat or other bacterial or viral respiratory infections. These first signs of the disease are commonly confused with cold and flu symptoms. The typical symptoms and signs of mononucleosis are:

* Fever - this varies from mild to severe, but is seen in nearly all cases.
* Enlarged and tender lymph nodes - particularly the posterior cervical lymph nodes, on both sides of the neck.
* Sore throat - seen in nearly all patients with EBV-mononucleosis
o White patches on the tonsils/back of the neck are often seen (indicating infection).
* Fatigue (sometimes extreme fatigue)

Some patients also display:

* Enlarged spleen (splenomegaly, which may lead to rupture) or liver (hepatomegaly)
* Abdominal pain
* Aching muscles
* Headache
* Loss of appetite
* Jaundice
* Depression
* Weakness
* Skin rash
* Dizziness or disorientation
* Supra-orbital edema (the eyes become puffy and swollen) may occur in the early stages of infection

DON'T PANIC

S'late-NO! nonononono...NO! You'll go stark raving MAD!

Well it does make for good reading, you going crazy and all! See, I'm just looking out for your "best" interest....You'll have to finish THIS TR first, though, MISSY!

If I consent to this she can't go MAD... she bit that bullet 3 times already...
1) First Date (October 21, 1992)
2) Engagement (neither of us remember the day I asked her this AM)
3) Wedding Day (June 4, 1994) (The First day of the rest of our lives)

I am the only one in my extended with enough sense to make a rational judgment and not be swayed by whining or coercion. So even though there were adults 40+ years my senior I was chosen as a trustworthy soul to decide if it was safe with her reducing spleen.

DON'T PANIC

Sirious! :upsidedow

Well aren't you a wealth of information :teacher:

But she simply MUST go nuts for the good of her craft!
She has fans who depend on her and the promise of more DISfunction from the extended family is what keeps us comin' back for more (at y'alls expense of course).

Wait, you remember your first date date??? :cool2:

Man oh Man...:cool1: Took me all night but I caught up. Read all 25 pages and put three kids to bed. :surfweb:
Sorul... I remember your (funny) mean eyes in Umom's TR...:thumbsup2
Sirius - Doesn't mono make you really tired :angel: ...how could she keep up the pace at Disney? Also how many ways can people spell your name :confused3
