We're planning our fifth trip in five summers to Orlando! I just love the planning stage so let me know what you all think:

Leave 4:00 monday morning driving our minivan from Chicago.
Cross the Georgia border and spend the night at the same Comfort Inn as last year with a very nice pool and a Hooters for dinner!

Leave tuesday morning at 6:30 am and arrive at WDW around 3pm. Check in to All Star Movies (first time at a value resort) and stay at the resort, swim, eat dinner there.

Day 1 wednesday at Magic Kingdom. Opening until Wishes is over!

Day 2 thursday at Epcot. Ride Soarin' again and Test Track and spend alot of time at the Living Seas which we haven't seen since our first trip. Get pictures with Bruce and Nemo!!!! Maybe make a PS for a country for dinner. Maybe see Illuminations again.

Day 3 friday. Relax. No park today. Pool. Maybe DownTown Disney at Fulton's Crab House for dinner and some shopping. I really want to see the Adventurer's Club at Pleasure Island. I'd just like to go in right around 7pm so maybe DW and DD9 can shop while I have a Smirnoff Ice....

Day 4 saturday at Animal Kingdom. Stay until after the parade. We usually do everything we want at AK and finish before the parade. But I remember really liking it a few years ago and we haven't seen it since. Maybe Chef Mickey's for dinner.

Day 5 is for Typhoon Lagoon. We just love this water park!

Day 6 is MGM. Opening until Fantasmic. We'll get the dinner package and maybe try the Brown Derby this time. We've been to H&V four times and we love it, but maybe change for the sake of change.

Day 7 we leave and drive over to Universal Orlando and check in at the Hard Rock Hotel. We get there early in the morning to get our key cards which act as Express passes. We then go to Universal Studios for the day. A co-worker is getting me three 3day passes for free. So we're saving money by going with a Value WDW resort, spending bigger bucks on the HRH for two nights, but getting the Univ passes for free.

Day 8 is at Islands of Adventure. Maybe dinner at Buffet's Margaritaville!

Day 9 we check out of the HRH but still make use of our passes at Universal Studios until after lunch. Then we drive two hours to Disney's Vero Beach Resort and check in and swim in the ocean and the pool and eat dinner at Shutters.

Day 10 we wake up and go to Captain Hiram's to hire out a four hour fishing tour on the ocean. I'd love my DD9 to hook into a decent sized fish and bring it up! Then swim in the ocean again back at Disney's Vero Beach Resort. And the pool. Dinner is at Captain Hiram's.

Day 11 we swim and swim again and just hang out. Very nice recovery for the craziness at WDW! Dinner is pizza from the Chicago guys next door to the resort. We'll eat on our balcony and watch the ocean.

Day 12 we drive back and make it to Tennessee. Stay overnight in White House, TN.

Day 13 we arrive back home! Phew!

So what do you think? A few character meals thrown in will be necessary. We're going to take the train rides at MK and Ak which we've never done before. We've seen the Hoop Dee Do and the Hawaiin Luau. We might go eat at a nice restaurant at the Wilderness Lodge because we've never been there before.

I am tempted to try the Bass fishing excursion on the Seven Seas Lagoon. Everyone who has tried it caught fish like crazy. And there's something very appealling about catching fish at WDW! Maybe we'll do that instead of the deep sea fishing at Vero.

I love the planning stage. Vero is already booked.

I think you will get more replies if I move this to our Theme Parks and Attractions main forum.

Sounds like you have got everything planned out! I am sure you are a pro by now! =) I was wondering, since it sounds like you have done it before, what you think about the Fantasmic Dinner Package? Is it worth it? Haven't been to WDW in many years and am going in April. =)

The Fantasmic dinner package is well worth every penny! Specially since it's free!

We have done it twice and it's wonderful.

We figure we're at MGM pretty much all day and we want to see Fantasmic. The actual line usually runs 1 1/2 - 2 hours and the show starts at 9pm.

We have to eat anyway so we have booked the Hollywood and Vine buffet (very good food) each time. The only trick is that the priority seating is usually rather early, around 4:30 or so.

So we ate an early lunch to be sure we were hungry for the buffet by 4:30.

It's great to be handed that little Fantasmic pass by your server. Then you just show up at the rear entrance around 8:40 pm and you get a great seat (there are no bad seats) without the wait.

For free!

mm6, We just booked our Fantasmic package for Brown Derby and they gave us 6:10. If seatings are typically much earlier, maybe I should call them and make sure they have it as Fantasmic and not just PS. We had this last year as well but I can't remember what time of day. We also loved just walking in to Fantasmic and Brown Derby food is to die for! Very elegant, gourmet, strong flavors. Good service too!

Robindianne-

Our early seatings were at H&V both years. The Brown Derby may easily be different when it comes to times.

This year, we're on the dining plan so we're going to try the Brown Derby for the first time with the Fantasmic package! We're excited to go there!
