2006 New Years, Which Resort?

We are considering spending New Years Eve and the week of New Years at Disney next year. Can anyone give me some information on how the crowds are during week of Jan 1 - Jan 6. I know New Years Eve and New Years day will be very crowded but do the crowds diminish after the 1st? Also are there any discounts on rooms during those dates? What is the best resort to stay at for New Years Eve? We would spend the weekend at 1 resort then switch over to a DVC resort for the Sunday thru Friday dates. When would we have to make ressies by in order to get a room? Any info would be helpful.

You're right about the crowds for NYE and the following day. BUt then it does thin out quite a bit! You will have no crowds later that week.

I don't think you will find any discounts for NYE, though. I'd guess it would be fun at any resort, but maybe better at a resort where you could see the DTD fireworks.

I suggest the contemorary, I do'nt like it but it would be perfecct for the new years.... Get a MK view room. If that is not in your budget, go for the Yacht Club. Not your style? Then go for the Swan, but it is pricey... I basically just know hotels-so I can't help you on the AP rates, but I really doubt there will be any over the new years...
