2006 Family Vacations

you know what is so fuuny i was talking with the other half about the 06 trip and they are just tired of hearing me talk about it, then i thought you know we always go in dec and the weather is sometimes cold, oh boy then it happened i said we will go again in 07 instead of 08 and go during the summer for a change of pace, the whole family left out the kitched, go figure, how can anyone get tired of talking disney, i think if they planned out everything like i did they would feel the excitment, all they had to do was show up :cool1:

I am working on ours too! We are planning on leaving Dec. 31, 2005 and staying until around Jan. 9, 2006. We will be there for both my birthday and my son's 5th birthday! I want to get one more trip in before I have to start worrying about whether or not to take him out of school for WDW trips.

We are planning our trip also. We are going December 29, 2005 thru January 6, 2004. We will be there for New Years and mine and hubby's 8 year anniversary. We are very excited!

We always go to NY because my hubby works on Long Island, but other than that I have a trip to Hawaii planned this summer - that's where I am from.

I just found out I am pregnant with baby number 5 and if I find out I can't go back home based on my due date then my alternate plan is to drive to the Seattle area with baby and visit my hubby's family and my family can fly standby from Hawaii and make it a family reunion. Plus, my lifetime goal is to visit all 50 states and that will make me happy even if I don't get to go back to Hawaii.

I want to go to WDW in 2007 when baby is a little older and then 2008 I want to go to Europe as a graduation gift to me.

:D

We are going Nov/Dec 2005 and getting AP's for the first time.

To make getting these worth it, we are hoping to make trips in May/2006 and Oct/2006.

Hope it works out. I think after that we might take a couple year break from Disney. Our kids are getting older and trips to places like Philly/Boston,etc. are becoming more fun than they use to be. We would also love to go west....Chicago,St.Louis........oh, there's just not enough time or money to get to all the places, is there?? But it sure is fun dreaming about them and then planning them. :D

Further to my previous post we are now going in May 2007! So that puts us in the "2007 Family Vacations" category LOL! Wish it were sooner, but I'd really prefer to have an extra year to save up and gather more airmiles. Plus, I'd prefer our youngest to be 4 when we go so she can do the things the others are doing, like the pirate cruise and some of the more exciting rides (she's a daredevil and would HATE to not be tall enough to do what her sister will be doing).

Here I am planning feverishly for 2007. I know it's too early to plan in great detail, but at least I'm learning a lot and making notes on my planning spreadsheet. I will surely be an expert by 2007!

I'm glad too see I'm not the only one!! I felt a little stupid when I put my new counter in, but now I don't feel so bad!! We're planning on going Nov. 1st -8th again in 2006. It was so busy there in 2004 at that time, but we'll try it again! I can't wait to go back, neither can the kids. We haven't booked anything yet, but I'm getting some ideas together, so I'm ready when it comes time to start booking.

Dh and I will be going in May of 2006 to celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary. Been planning the trip since late 2004. Haven't "officially" started saving as we have a trip in May to Atlanta which I'm saving for first. When we return from that trip, I will work on saving for Disney. I have run some numbers and hotel room and tickets are going to run us about $927 and some change. I'm basing those numbers on NOT getting a FL resident code when trip time comes. If the code does come out, then we'll be $300 in the plus! :cheer2: That $300 will go toward DH and I eating of course. Won't be doing a lot of sitdowns in Disney if any at all as DH eats strict Kosher. We'll be doing a lot of food courts and maybe a visit or two to one of the kosher restaurants off site. :p I know we can order Kosher ahead of time, but one of my points of going to Disney is to "experience" the restaurants with DH, and ordering a meal ahead of time to be "brought in", just isn't the same.
I am looking forward to our trip in 2006. It will be 5 years by that time since we've visited and it will be a very enjoyable time! :hyper2:

We've known that a 2006 trip was in the works since DD's 8th birthday "bash" at WDW in 2002, as I'd promised DS an 8th birthday trip as well. I'm simply waiting on the school district to put out the 2005-6 calendar to be sure I get the right week for Spring Break. Resorts have already been chosen (down to building, even!), and we're working on the dining plans now. Last step will be park plans, which we won't finalize until PS's are made - DS actually wants CRT, so we'll hinge the rest of our plans on whether we get the PS or not.

Where does everyone plan on staying?

We will be at POP, in the 50's building, or 70's if 50's are not available.

Pop 60's - yes, I know it's preferred, but it's DS's b-day and he wants to be near the Play-Doh animals - for about half of our stay, followed by a surprise switch to AKL for a few nights. I can't wait to see the kids' faces when we leave dinner at Boma and I tell them we're going right up to our room!

Most of my family thinks I'm a little bit of a DisneyManiac, but hey, who am I kidding, they are probably right. We are all going to spend a week at Christmas 2006. (2 parents, 3 children, their 3 spouses, and 5 grandkids) Of course, I get to be the planner and I am already at work! I can't help it. I love it, I LOVE it, I LOVE IT! :jumping3:

My only question is, how can you go to Disney one time, look at the INCREDIBLE joy and excitement and wonder on the kids faces, and NOT do all you can to want to get that over and over again! I still light up like a child when I go...that's the beauty of Disney!

We are going May 7-17, 2006. Our 1st trip ever to Florida/Disney. Our son will be 4. We will be celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary while we are there. Never had much of a honeymoon, so this will be nice :sunny:

Has anyone booked their hotel yet? We are going in February 2006, and I want to book our reservations at Port Orleans French Quarter, but didn't want to do so too early. I thought I could start paying on the room now, that way it would stretch out the cost of the room, and if any discounts come out later, I can adjust my reservation accordingly. What do you guys think? Anyone else already booked for 2006?

Can I join? We are planning a trip for Jan. 2006. Just trying to decide where we want to stay at this point! And hoping against hope we can get a ressie w/ a discount code.

Me too Me too!! :rotfl: We are in the throws of planning our first combined family trip. My mom, sister, her husband and children, and my husband and children!! Lots of work on this trip, but then, that's half the fun isn't it. We are going Spring Break of 2006. Good luck to all who are working on their trips in 2006 ;) It's gonna be a blast! :cheer2:

Not staying at a hotel, but at Fort Wilderness campground. We made reservations through Magical Journeys for a preferred site. The lady I am working with watches for codes and will automatically apply the best one for us. If all else fails, I will be joining AAA for their discount.

Wow, your counter has even more numbers than mine!! ;) We just went this past September - a brief 3 day trip as part of a larger trip to FL in general - but I am already planning our next trip which will be in May of 2006...A full week at FW, doing ALL the parks and the water parks. I'm using my 40th B-day as an excuse...as if I really need one!

I will book as soon as I'm sure of the dates. Like you, I love the idea of paying everything off little by little and well ahead of time.

you can never have too much planning or excitement for disney, at least here no one thinks we are crazy for talking about trips that are next year.

Well, we just starting making reservations for our Oct. 2005 this past week and just this week, started to seriously consider a Disney Cruise for late in 2006 or a quick on for DH and I for my birthday or his, If we take the cruise as a family ( of 5) I am thinking about doing the Family stateroom for 5 and using the land sea package and taking the oppertunity to stay in a deluxe resort like AKL, So much to think about Has anyone taken a cruise with a 13, 12 and a 4 year old , or ages simular to that??
