2006 extended family trip

Well, I must be crazy but I accepted the challenge of planning a trip for 19 family members (ages 18 to 80) for Thanksgiving week in 2006.

I'm in charge of room ressies and park tickets. We have decided to stay at the Caribbean Beach Club. They'll make arrangements for airfare as they are coming from all over.

How soon should I book ressies? We have some special needs people (3 with asthma, 1 with MS/wheelchair, and 1 with walking issues) so should I go thru Special Reservations?

I'm not thrilled with the responses on this site to the Grand Gatherings planning used by others. We would like to watch the fireworks on the water but if we don't get that we won't be too disappointed.

What about planning Thanksgiving Dinner at a restaurant?

DH, MIL and myself were at AKL in May and had a fabulous time due in part to all of the wonderful postings made on this board. I'll try not to panic as I know I'll get lots of support and help from everyone. TIA

Hello PSU fan! I am the planner for our Magical/Grand Gatherings family group of 13 and have been surprised at the lack of planning advice for large groups. Don't expect too much from group dining at WDW (as this is the # you will call to make your PS). I'd be glad to email back and forth to let you in on some of my tips. Right now I've got to go. Cheryl
