DIsney states that the free Magical Express is only until Sept 2006. No plans so far to extend it. :sad2:

My wedding's at Disney right after the cruise and my Coordinator said that it should still be in effect through Oct 2006 at that point. Don't know about after that though.

Wow it's not even 12:00 and I had 6 pages to catch up on.

Welcome to all the new cruisers. It is going to be a great time.

Janet- Last year we rented a car from Budget and turned it in near the port and they have a free shuttle to the port. We then rented another car when we got back. It was really easy and saved some money.

Love the new logo. I'll have to go add it right now. Thanks

We tried to do this as well with National but found for us it was cheaper to keep the car the entire time we were down. Just keep pricing your rental and go with the best rates - they tend to move around a ton.

TRAVEL INSURANCE/CRUISE INFORMATION

Just wanted to pass on something I learned last year in the insurance process - the earlier you purchase the policy the more that is covered by most policies, so if you are certain you are staying on the cruise my advice is to buy it now. We're still going to be sailing in Hurricane season and while I know nothing will happen having that policy last year gave us HUGE peace of mind.

Also, for Matt and I we just about had to use the policy as the Friday before we sailed my Grandfather went into ICU. Luckily he was not sick when we purchased the coverage or the policy may not have let us fly home had we needed it.

I'm searching for the info, however, I think I recall reading here on the DIS that for those of us who booked points or point/cash combo we need to use the DVC insurance co as that's the only one set up to cover points.

For anyone who may have missed it.......I already received several PM's and have your information noted.

For everyone who is interested and has EARLY seating for dinner, I am going to coordinate with DCL to link our reservations together so that we can hopefully be seated together and in close proximity to everyone else in the group.

Here's what I need to know from everyone.

  • Last Name
  • confirmation #
  • cabin #
  • how many in your group
  • who would you like to sit with?
  • first choice for dining partners
  • second choice for dining partners
  • third choice for dining partners

Please PM me the information. I don't need it all right now. In fact, if you would prefer, all I need to know is that you might be interested. Nothing is written in stone and is always open for change.

We have several months for us to develop friendships and decide where we think we'll fit in best. But, I just thought I would throw this information out there for anyone to read. I'll also be giving Mark & Mary something to add to their website.

I will post the list of early diners occassionally throughout the upcoming weeks/months. When I do, I'll add any new people to the list.
Let's hope this works!!!!

We are going to have an AWESOME cruise !!!!!

We requested late dining but I was wondering how many are at a table. Coordinating groups sounds like fun. I would rather be at a table with people we had similar interest with than with some many not so fun ppl.

Isn't that wonderful. Yes the DIS is full of wonderful caring people. Many of whom are from this group!

If ME is not free anymore and we need to rent a car anyway. We will probably rent a car and drive it to the port. $12.00 per day is pretty steep! Since this is a DVC cruise too bad we don't get free parking like we do when we go home. :rotfl:

It just might be worth sending the idea into DVC. Who knows what they might have planned in the way of extras. This would be a cool one. :cool1:

I know a lot of us drove to the port --- as I took pictures as we were waiting in line to get inside. :flower:

I'm not exactly sure and I'm certain there are exceptions but I think a good rule of thumb is 8-10 people per table. We had 12 on the SSMC05 but 3 were in high chairs, 1-4 year old, 1-5 year old and 1-12 year old along with 6 adults.

They could have split us up, right Amy & Diana. Kids at one table with the dad's, ladies at another. :teeth: :teeth: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

The adult only tables may be smaller parties. We only had 6 at our table last cruise.

We had a table of 8 adult onlys on SSMC05 - Matt and I and three other groups/couples we didn't know before the cruise.... but it was fun to get to know them better as time went on.

Thank heavens I have been lurking or I would never catch up on this thread. I was afraid to post sooner for fear I would jinx us from getting onboard. As it was it took four phone lines and forty five minutes to get through.

My sister Janet, her friend Sue and I will be in cabin 6134. Janet and I had this cabin during our Hurricane Jeanne Magic cruise last year and like the location. It was just a coincidence we got it again but on the Wonder. Except for the long walk to the gift shops for the two pin addicts I think it will be fine. We have late seating- trying to leave the early seating open for the groups with kids.

I usually don't post often but will be lurking. Thanks to Mark for the fancy logo too.

Hi Rose

I saw you in chat yesterday. Join in when you can.

mrsdon, Debbie, was asking about you yesterday and whether you booked and where your cabin was located. Maybe you want to send her a PM.

Mark thanks for the cool sig logo - I was hoping you would come up with something for all three! Pretty neat.

I'm just trying it out with this post :cool1:

Hi and Welcome to all the new cruisers! Stick around, we're bound to have an exciting 10 months until cruise time :cheer2: :cheer2:

Mary when you started the weekly countdown for SSMC05 we started at about week 45 - I didn't think it would ever get here. Coming to this thread helped pass the time!
