Parking: if you get there early you can play parking lot fire drill!!! :)

Cheryl you sound like you speak from experience. What do they do for the fire drill? Do I really want to play :rotfl: I guess it means I would be there early enough to maybe be first in line in the terminal :Pinkbounc

I promise I'll only do this once a week, so as to not drive you all crazy with the same post over and over again!

:bounce: ATTENTION PARENTS WITH KID CRUISERS!!!! :bounce:

Hi! I'm Diana aka Diana Lyn and this is my 3rd Member Cruise! I have two little children, Emma who will turn 3 right before we sail, and Julia who will turn 2 just before we sail They are 13 months apart. :faint:

Last year, Cindy and Lisa thought it to be a good idea to keep a list of all the kid cruisers by age so the older kids can make pen pals (are they even called that still?) and the parents can make friends with other parents who have kids the same age. This worked out well for me, because I met Amy! It also helped lots of others make some really good friends. Anyway, and I do have a point here! I will be keeping the Kids List for SSMC06!! I will post this list every so often to keep everyone updated. So, if you would like your children to be listed on the list, pm me their first name and age at time of sailing and if you don't want their name posted but want to be included, that's ok too, you can just say DS age 9 and I'll post it as DS (9) (your screenname). I'm hoping to come up with a cute little something for the kids, but nothing I could ever come up with would be as good as the job Lisa and Cindy did last year....so I'm open to suggestions! :flower:

Let the planning begin! :boat:

Here is the list so far!!! :cool1:

Okay if you get there before the lot opens, you line up and wait in the employee lot. After that you get out of your car then chit chat, a green car near us from IL was playing Hey Baby and other disney tunes :) - then you hear and see people going you get in line and then you find out - oops false start and you loop around again and get in line again. Then you hang out some more and finally they let you in. :)

Hmmmm - a green car from IL. Who could that be? :)

If you get there early enough you can have a mini-meet in the vendor lot!

I'll keep that in mind for the next member cruise. Mike and I are planning on driving down from Michigan. That way we won't have to ship things home with someone. ;)

I know too soon!

For those staying @ WDW before/after cruise what is the best method to get to Port Canaveral and back?

Looking for the Veteran Member Cruisers for this answer! ;)
We took the bus from the resorts to Port Canaveral and back. We were glad that we did not have a car at Port Canaveral since we were deverted to Port Everglades because of weather at Port Canaveral. There were a lot of people who had to travel back to Port Canaveral then onto Disney. We were bused from Port Everglades right back to Disney.

Mark and Mary the web site updates lookin' good. Thanks for the logo Mark.

Parking lot chit chat like that.

DH and I were talking. Is it advisable to fly in the day of the cruise and get a rental car for the drive to the port. Has anyone done this daring thing? We're kind of uncertain about it, but thinking we might.

Lily - we've vowed that we will never fly in the same day as sailing again. Even if you don't have weather delays we've found that we are just too beat. The flight out of Chicago is 7 am. Which means we wake up about 4 or 4:30 to leave by 5 to get to the airport. The first day is a long one and we are just beat. So now we just fly in at least the night before. For the last Member Cruise we drove down and our plan is to do that again. We'll leave a few days early, get some time in at Disney, enjoy the cruise and then back to Disney for a few days.

Just a reminder that tonight is DVC chat!

Take my advice, fly in the day before. We had taken several cruises and had flown in the day of. The last cruise we took, our plane had a machanical problem ander got off the ground, missed our cruise and even with travel insurance only got back about 70% of our money. We are scheduled to try again on the Disney Members cruise this next Oct. and we are going to fly in the day before. Its just not worth the risk and the heartbreak..smjj

Yea, it's the only way they'll be friends with me, if I let them make fun of me! :rotfl:

Here's a little something about me....I am very sarcastic (maybe a NY thing), so please don't take any of the crazy stuff I say literally....ie--I don't drug my kids so I can DIS  , I don't pay these guys to be friends with me (they actually pay me to be friends with them!) :earseek: , and I certainly don't bite!! :rotfl: So if I ever say anything you just aren't quiet sure about, just ask....I'll tell you the truth in a pm, cause I don't want to ruin my reputation!

Hey Diana, don't worry about either Curt or myself taking things literally. We understand that sarcasm is an art form! (And we are Masters, as well, I might add!) When he and I start our "bickering", people are oftentimes convinced that our next stop is divorce court. :teeth: My entire family is sarcastic - we strike fear into "normal" families' heart's! :scared:

(And now, just to uphold your hard-earned reputation):
OMG Diana! Do you drug your children before you bite them?!?

Wowzers you guys are chatty!!
I can't seem how to figure out how to add the logo to my signature. Im so techanically inept.
Also, how do you respond so quickly.
Is there a refresh button or something.

Congrats to all who got a stateroom for this cruise, you will have a great time for sure.

I saw Mary (ILUNDISNEY) later that Sat Morning, she was on cloud nine, and able to take a breath. We were very happy for her, her elation was evident.

Good Morning All!

Question ~ Won't they have activities planned for us prior to the cruise? Won't this be incentive enough to fly/drive down prior?

So how busy do you think MS will be this morning? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Now to score those accommodations for before and after the cruise! Oh yeah, and to let my boss know that I won't be there the last week of October! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Have A Disney Day Everybody!

Good morning Debbie! Congrats on the top.

To add your signature go to our website and copy the line of code for the one you want. Then click on User CP (on the far left up top). Pick edit signature and paste that line of code in. That should do it!
