Ok so I've seen several posts on our thread here and on the main cruise board about everyone loving deck 5... do tell why that is as we were on deck 6 (I think) and really enjoyed it.

We were on the Repo Cruise in August and we had a Category 8 Deck 5 Forward. The convenience to the kids club was awesome! There are not too many cabins so I feel it is less noisey. My parents were in a Category 9 Deck 2 and my Dad complained of kids running through the halls late at night. I felt we were within walking distance to EVERYTHING! We hardly ever took an elevator in the 2 weeks we were on the ship. Oh, I forgot to tell you there are strange odors on Deck 5, so you probably DON'T want to get a room on Deck 5 ;)

Oh, that's right, very strange odors on deck 5. Not a good deck at all!!

Deck five is great for parents with kids. Deck 2 is great for families too that need connecting rooms. I think I'm going for a cat 5-7 if not open then I'll get an cat 11. Now that I've picked "cat/s" that I want. Let the calls begain! I feel like we should line up by our phones! :rotfl: :rotfl: Now everyone yell open..open...open.... :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Thanks guys - I think we like deck 6 as it's not too far to walk up or walk down. Geez I need to get in shape already!

As for the charge qualifing for the 6 months 0% interest I can't see the statement as it's too old yet I think it was not for us last year.

I can't believe that tomorrow is the day! Last night DH and I talked about what kind of stateroom we'd like, what dining rotation, etc. I was SHOCKED when he said "Let's try for a Category 6 since we're using this trip to celebrate our anniversary!" I was all set to go for a Cat. 9 like last time, and wasn't too nervous about getting a stateroom because I figured the verandah rooms would go first. Now I'm nervous!!! Will I be able to get a verandah room? It would be my dream come true! We've taken three cruises, and NEVER splurged for a verandah!

We did decide to go with the early dining rotation. I tend to get migraines if I wait too late to eat, and that's the LAST thing I want on a cruise! Here'e pixie dust to all my DIS buddies....hope everyone gets what they want! :wizard: And Mary, you're right....no one plans like us DISer's!

Our first cruise was on deck 6 and we thought that was a great deck too, because it was easy to get anywhere.

Thanks,

I'm getting scared about these women in the bushes.... (being a cop - that's saying something) Karen and I walk that path frequently coming back from MGM, hmmmmmm :earseek:

(yes this is post hounding - I want the 30 posts)

It's a deal. I'll make sure you have every ph# possible to reach me so I can pounce on a good deal!

Did anyone else get their 2006 - 2007 Vacation planner from DVC in the mail. I had to laugh at what they included with it especially since I have 3 already! :rotfl2:

Shhhhhhhh - Karen :hyper: still hasn't gotten hers (or a Castaway club CD) and with all that is going on I'm going to have to buy a defibulator soon....

I had a couple of questions about the Member Cruise that were answered by LaWanda:

MS will ask all your contact information before checking for room status:
Names
Addresses
phone numbers
member number
CC number (etc. etc.)

They will ask for 3 choices and will go in order when asking DCL for a room assignment

The $75 fee is waved

The gratuities will be included again for this Member Cruise

She did not know if you put the cruise on your Disney Visa if you got 0% interest for 6 months. I am assuming yes because at the end of August we put a DCL deposit down on another cruise date and when our Visa bill arrived it showed the 6 months we have to pay @ 0% interest. I think I will call Disney Visa to find out for sure. I will post again when I get an answer.

Sounds like the CM are prepared. LaWanda told me to make sure I was calling @ 9:00 am EST because the cruise will probably be sold out within a couple of hours.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

Thanks for getting all that info and posting it here.....I think it's awesome that tips are included, because it's just one less thing you have to deal with, and you can give them a little extra for those deserving!

The castaway club cd contents is posted on a "sticky" on the main cruise thread. It has all the pictures, the screen saver and the music.....probably cheaper than the defibulator!

Deck 6 was the place to be b/c that's where I was! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I wanted my 2000th post to be the one celebrating my cruise being booked, so I'm going to have to be really quiet tonight! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Thanks Diana,

Already downloaded that sucker and Karen has been asking for it. I even saved the disk art for the lable maker.....

NEWS FLASH

As of about 4pm yesterday my move to Virginia is OFF. Bittersweet. On the bitter side, the location where I work is being cut back so I have about 36 months left at this location. SWEET side - Karen and I stay as a family unit :love2: (despite the threats of slipping me green vegtables - remind me to tell you about the 50's Prime Time Cafe incident.....)

Still in line for a promotion - will see how that turns out next week Thursday... Get those pixie dust wands ready ladies I am NOT above asking for all the help I can get.... Anyone seen Wicked? "Is this thing on?!?!"

End of news flash.

See you all tonight in Chatdom.

Sorry Diana that you have to be quiet! I guess we'll have to do all the talking for you. :teeth:

Curt - great news that you don't have to move!

Here's hoping that promotion comes through for you! :wizard:

Diana - you have a few more posts you can do. Good thing we'll be in chat tonight as that doesn't count against your post count.:)

Hi everybody.

Thank you for explaining why my hometown keeps getting blanked out (darn those American Pie movies). I had been wondering myself.

I think if we continue this thread until the cruise we will easily make 30,000 posts, probably closer to 35,000. A lot more people know about the DIS boards thanks to the buttons and shirts on the last cruise. I had at least 10 different couples ask me about them. Of course I directed them to Kay who had extra shirts for sale on the ship. I still have an extra adult XXL and kids Large.

My grossed out food: anything seafood, especially shrimp, the food I like the least. Other notables are uncooked onions and asparagus – it tastes OK, it’s the after effects I can’t stand!

I’ll be staying at the Boardwalk the night before and at least Thursday and Friday after with the possibility of staying Saturday as well, I have to work out the points with future vacation plans to see what I can spare. Of course the camera will be rolling, I got a great deal on tapes this past Friday morning.

Mary, I loved the holiday post. Thanks, that’s something we should all think about at this time of year.

Ohanafamily, I got your PM. Will send it out when I can get to the post office.

Gary and Cindy, Sorry for your loss. I haven’t read the page that was on yet, will catch up this weekend. Cindy, what you did for the suicidal person is truly admirable.

Welcome to Tim and Michelle! Also, welcome to anyone else who is joining the thread! Lurkers come on out. Don’t be shy, only Diana bites.

Amy, who is BNL? I can’t think of who they are, but I don’t listen to the radio much.

I do have a few questions about locations on the ship:

Does the back of the ship rock less than the middle or front? We were in a Cat 11 just behind the front elevators going towards mid-ship last time and could really feel the rocking on the first day/night and the last night. I am thinking of trying for the back this time, if not the middle.

Was anyone on deck 5 and was it really crowded in the evening trying to get from place to place?

Does anyone have an extra fish extender they are willing to sell? What store would I buy them in?

Does anyone know if there will be a pirate night like last time? Any other theming?

Where is chat going to be, cruise forum or one of the DVC forums? Same with posting after people get booked?

Thanks and I’ll try to be in chat tonight,

Copper3

Oh Julie you are such a tease! But I kind of like teasing her too. Diana can't talk. :rotfl2: Oh Diana. :listen: :listen: :p
I might try chat tonight. Every time I go in there I get lost.

I think Aft is best and then Mid

No idea yet
