Wow :scared1: that is a big difference. We will be paying with cash and I just don't get it. For a cat 12 room the difference from last year is about 46% more but for a cat 3 room it is only 15% more. Most rooms are about 25% more. The big problem I have is that kids between 3 and 12 went from $406 to $645 that is about a 60% increase. I just don't get it. What am I missing here? :confused3

We will have to decide if we still want to go. That is quite a lot more. We could do a 7 night for almost the same price. I guess I will have to talk to dh and decide what we are going to do.

If we do decide to go we will stay at BCV before and after.

wow! if those are the rates for the cruise, then i definitely can't go. i can't afford the points of cash at those rates for a 4-day cruise! :guilty:

why so expensive?!?!!?

Diana, Stacy and Gail you are cracking me up. Ok answers - Reception is at MGM Studios, yes it's open bar (in my family that is the ONLY way) and Gail - hmm good question.

Does anyone know if tip is included again this year?

I just called Member Services and they said "Probably" tips will be included.

Personally, I think we should get a discount because the SPA is closed....

you read my mind as i was just about to say the same thing. the rates are cheaper but pretty close to a 7-day cruise. but instead this is only a 4 day cruise with no spa!!! a highlight for the cruise. and (not to lay a jinx, but) if there's any hurricanes next October, then two stops at CC may result in a damaged island with poor snorkeling experience.

hmmm....is it really worth it?!?! think i need some convincing......as well as this week's winning lottery numbers so i can afford to go!!! :rotfl2:

Are you sure those cash prices are correct?

Looks like I will be splitting too.

Cheryl

This is what they told me, I notated where they made a mistake on the list.

The rooms are at about $7 a point, so this is one time paying csdh is cheaper than renting points. Most people paid about $6 a point, after you add the annual fee) And They rent for about $10 a point.

I will use points...even though this trip will pretty much wipe me out through next year.

:jumping2:

At those prices and with the ship still being worked on (we had to deal with this on the Magic, not fun) I'd rather book a 7 night for just a little more.

My guesses were also close.... but I never thought the kids would go up 28 points each... that hurts. Hurts so much I called to see if a Cat 3 was availible for the 7 day double dip Oct 14th 2006 cruise that we rebooked on board(phantom ressie planning to switch to Oct 2007)... there was one availible and it would only be 1200 more for that one, than a Cat 3 for the DVC member cruise which as we know is a 4 day no spa cruise....

That being said... we are doing the member's cruise! DH wants to do a 4 day and wait for the 7 day in 2007 when the kids are older...a point I kinda of agree with... and we can only do the F&W fest if we do the 4 day. We both think a 4 day with 3 nights at WDW afterwards is the way to go. And although other 4 day cruises durning the F&W fest may be cheaper.... they wont have 2 stops at CC.... DH's favorite part of our 3 day cruise.

We will pay cash for the adults and do points for the kids.. 255 points just for them... Phew.... but the timing is right, the itinerary is right, so we are going for it.

Sooooooo anyone else still in now that the prices/points are out??

The points are right where I thought they'd be and I don't think that's too bad. I realized it was a different season and when I think about all the extras (gifts, guest appearances, etc.) on the last member cruise the points are well worth it. JMHO Annmarie

We're definitely still in!!! I don't know that I want to miss another member cruise, since we had SO much fun this year!! The points are right where I thought that they would be, so I'm ok with it. I just have to decide who we're going to pay points or cash for, since it will be a combo.

IF I get through on Dec 3 --I am going alone on the Cruise. (I think I will have to pay double points.)

Has anyone who has been previously seen anyone going alone?

I posted these questions on the DVC thread and it got moved to the planning board (no responces).

I might be able to find you a room mate!! LOL :rotfl:
I have a friend who's parents are DVC members and they said if they do decide to go the were going by themselves and she is dying to go on a member cruise!

I think I'm still in.....
The points/$ might be a little more then we can spend. DH and I will be doing some serious talk about it.

We've been in since the moment Jim Lewis announced it!

We had our "serious" talk last night and we are in! :cool1:

To add a little sunshine to these points/cash charts :sunny: Last year for Emma and Julia, both under 2 at time of sailing, cash price was 196. Looks like it's a little cheaper this year! Now if I can only prevent Emma from turning 3 before we sail. This cruise is a month past her 3rd bday!

Does anyone know if we can choose who we pay points for? For example, can I pay points for me and DD3 and pay cash for DH and DD2? Like, does it matter?

Diana, last year we paid cash for 1 adult and 1 child and points for the other 2. They didn't ask who was cash or points.

I know what you mean. It would be nice if this cruise was just a little earlier for you, so that you could save some points/cash. Oh well, at least she can go to the clubs.
