Had a Wonderful time with all of our Dis friends! The ones that couldn't make it ,You Were Missed!
Safe travels home to all of the friends going home! :wizard:
Just made hotel res. for December 1-3rd in Chicago! So most of us will see Amy when she comes in! ;) Diana and Stacy ....hint.. hint! ;)
I'm signed up for the scrap circle! I'll start scraping on wednesday! :sunny: Karen,Mary and I are going to a class together! :cheer2: Should be fun!
That's all for now.
OOOps this is Chris not Mike.I'm using his computer! :rotfl:

Chicago is even further away than Detroit is from us!!

I've been working on Bruce since Gary talked to him on Saturday night. Problem being that airfare is way high because I guess people want to go to Chicago during the holiday season? AND the thought of riding 13 hours in the car with Emma and Julia makes me want to ride on the roof racks to Chicago. If I only can convince a driving companion to tag along---:scratchin

Back from Detroit! I walked into our house and my back door was broken. Now we are having the police "dust" the home. They did not take any electronics except our video camera. They took Nicks money box and my jewelry box. and they ransacked our bedroom. -- There was another home kind of behind us that was broken into last night as well and they have a 100+ pound dog. UGGH. Luckily I do not have much REAL jewelry - as I am not a girly girl. Mostly it was jewelry from growing up that my parents and grand parents gave me and a few items that were from our grandparents.

Just last week I put on my mental to do list to go through the house and write everything down. GUess I am too late. They did not take any computer stuff and we have a lot. My laptop was on the sofa.

On a happier note, WE really enjoyed our evening with everyone. I will try and post later and maybe catch everyone in chat.

Erin, that's SO terrible. I hope they are able to catch whoever did this. The scary part is that they were in your home. If there's a good part of the story, it's that you weren't. :sad2:

How is Nick handling this? I could see my kids being really upset. :(

Stacy, Amy and I were talking about scrapbooking conventions last night in chat and I gave Stacy the website. http://www.ckscrapbookevents.com/ Buffalo isn't too far from a lot of you guys. Maybe by the if you are all converted to the dark side some of us can meet up and take some of the Disney classes!

is due mid-May. No idea if it's Squirt or Squirt, though. I know David wants to find out, but again I'm on the fence about it. If we do I know I don't want to tell MIL for fear of her reaction. Her comments when we told her we were having a boy last time still really grate on me and I don't care for a similar reaction this time around.

I don't blame you for any bad feelings you have with your MIL. Some people just don't know when to shut their mouths and not cross that invisible line into other peoples lives. And, especially with a baby. It's not like you can exchange it for a different sex child.

We didn't find out the sex of either of our boys until they were born. We liked the idea of a surprise, although Gary convinced me that Walker was a girl based on something he saw on one of the ultrasounds. In hindsight, he was probably looking at the fold of a leg or arm. So, when Walker was born and the doctor said it was a boy, we were really very surprised.

But the deciding factor is--was Cameron jealous that Deanna was a bit sweet on Ryan? :rotfl2:

Not that I noticed --- did anyone else? ;)

In fact, Gail told me that in a conversation with her sisters, Deanna told them that Cameron liked Mary. So, when I asked Cameron about Ryan being sweet on Deanna I also casually mentioned that Deanna thought he liked Mary. I didn't get that typical reaction of I'm not telling Mom --- a huge huff and a puff and a no!!! I got a regular, I don't answer from Cameron.

So, now I don't know what to think?

I want you to come to Chicago, I truly do.

But, I have to tell you, now that we've flown on vacation for several trips, Walker is not the best traveler. He moved from seat to seat to seat to seat and whined a good portion of the trip there and back. "When are we going to get there", "when are we going to get there", "when are we going to get there". :faint: I had thoughts that he would sleep in the car, but I guess all the whining stopped him from being able to finally relax enough to do so.

It was a long drive. In hindsighted, I probably could have prepared a bit better for him. We had rented Cars and by the weekend, the boys had seen it several times. If they had a new movie to keep them entertained, it would have been easier on Walker to sit and get involved in the movie. We also forgot his gameboy at home and I forgot to give him a dose of dramamine before we headed out Sunday so then he was complaining of his stomach hurting.

Long 5 hours!!

Buffalo isn't that far from here - a quick zip through Canada and we're there. Maybe 3 or 4 hours

What all is involved in the conventions? Is that what you went to Orlando this past summer for?

Thanks for the words of support - I am happy no one was here when it happened and that what was taken was minor stuff - biggest blow was that they took Nick's vacation money and my Father in laws park hopper ticket that had 4 days left and was to be used in Janurary. BUT again that can be replaced.

Nick has taken this well and we will move on.

Erin,

First and foremost, I's sorry your place was violated!!

Second from just the first glance it sounds like kids. They ony took stuff that had "immediate" value. Kids don't know how to pawn or fence. They are also looked at really wierd when they walk into a pawn shop with a computer (laptop) and say "how much?" What kid willing gives up a computer?? Hope that helps a little. An adult creep know how to do this. The "good news" that if it was a kid or kids at least they didn't trash the whole house as you might have seen on TV when they video the whole thing. MORONS.

Again my thought are with you guys.

Erin - so sorry about the break in and glad that nothing truly valuable was taken, although I do understand that some things have more sentimental value.

I'd be interested in doing this as well gang - as long as it's a free weekend for me and Matt gives the ok. Of course Amy and Diana will need to provide tips on how to pack for a scrap weekend and fly!

Sadly, :sad2: (or not so sadly, depending how you look at it) this won't work for me. If it all works out, I'll be cruising (on another cruise line *choke*) that weekend. DD's dance company has been asked to perform on this ship, and Ken and I are going along for the ride.

I see there are others being held in Nashville and St. Louis too. Since I'm in the middle of nowhere, these are the closest for me. Both are in the spring. Anyone interested? I'm going to my first crop EVER on Friday!

I think I am going over to the dark side :darth:

I think you should ask her about the boy at school with the cast on his arm. She even carries his books for him. :rotfl2:

Oh, that one I heard about from another mom at soccer practice Saturday morning. Her daughter is on Deanna's soccer team and goes to school with her. Soccer practice and games are "comparing notes time" with all the other parents. :rotfl:

Actually the whole drive is through Canada, except about 20 minutes that it takes to get to the bridge. It's alot quicker to cut through Canada then driving to Ohio and then heading back up to Buffalo. Macomb is just north of Detroit.

I bet you thought I was cracking up mentioning going through Canada didn't you? :rotfl:

No. Not cracking up. I just always seem to forget how CLOSE Detroit is to Canada. It's just bad geography on my part, that's all. But hey, I'm only in 4th grade History/Geography.....so there's time for me to learn! :lmao: After all, I just learned about the French Revolution!!!! :rotfl2:

What all is involved in the conventions? Is that what you went to Orlando this past summer for?

It's not the same as the one in Orlando, it's exactly the same as the one I went to in Valley Forge in July. It's usually goes late Thursday through late Saturday night I believe. We got there late Thurs and left late Saturday afternoon. It's usually held at a hotel convention center and a few months before the date all these classes open up. It's kind of like CRT the way booking for classes go! The "good" classes fill up within minutes of opening. You can take as many or as little classes as you'd like and the only costs there are are associated with each class that you take. (And hotel) There's also a vendor fair which you can think of as a giant flea market with aisles and aisles of scrapbooking companies from all over the country. Each has their own booth, their own sales and specials and you wander from booth to booth. Last year we didn't make it through the whole place there were so many things. There is a cost to get into the vendor fair for a day pass like $8 but if you take so many classes (like 5) you get in for free. Then after the classes are done for the day, there's crops you can sign up for. We didn't do any crops but I heard there were incredible door prizes and gifts. With these things, it's all about the gifts, and we got some really nice things. This is called CKC

There's also something else called CKU that Amy can elaborate more on. There's one in Orlando in October. (Still not the same thing I went to). From what I understand it's like college, where you take so many classes and have teams and stuff like that. More structure to it.

The Orlando SDV that I went to was really nice, but being at WDW at the YC no less my attention was more to Disney than to scrapping. I'd do it again if it wasn't at Disney World. There's one in Atlantic City. For that you paid X amount and got so many nights hotel and you got a spot at a table where you could come and go and scrap 24 hours a day. There were also classes, but no where near as many as the ones at CKC. It also included certain meals.
